Chapter 93: Stop causing unnecessary trouble

"Sean..." Jexy called after a few moments.

She looked at the grandson she had raised for five years before letting out a heavy sigh.

"I may have helped Kevin’s father conceal his involvement seven years ago. But I did it for your mother’s sake, too," she added.

"What do you mean?"

"You, Kevin, and Zahn will understand once your mother regains all her memories."

Sean, Kevin, and Zahn fell silent. None of them asked any further questions, but Jexy knew that all three of them must be thinking about her confession.

"You’re all here?"

Brandon’s voice rang out as he calmly walked toward them.

Dion’s secretary immediately stood in front of Hana’s three sons, trying to block Brandon’s subordinates from approaching them.

"You want to arrest Hans Xin, don’t you?" he asked. "Then take him and leave immediately. They have nothing to do with any of this."

Hans clicked his tongue when he heard Dion Sexa’s secretary, but chose not to interrupt.

Brandon merely smiled mockingly. He thought the secretary’s actions were ridiculous, as if the man could actually stop him.

He turned toward his subordinates and nodded.

Without wasting any time, several men immediately stepped forward and restrained Dion’s secretary.

"What are you trying to do?" the secretary shouted.

Sean immediately stepped forward, standing in front of his two brothers to protect them.

"We haven’t committed any crimes at all! Why are you—"

"Little boy," Brandon interrupted, lowering his head to look at Sean’s face.

"I have to arrest you, too. You’re the child who crashed the Vein family’s stock market yesterday, aren’t you? You have to take responsibility for what you did."

Sean was stunned for several seconds.

"You..."

"As for your other brother, he dared to help you hack both the Vein family’s system and the system of the Melvin Continent’s Supervisory Council." Brandon leaned down even further, staring into Sean’s eyes as they began to tremble. "Your youngest brother even dared to establish a private hospital and sell medicines in my territory using someone else’s identity."

He grinned.

"Do you think I’ll just let all of that slide? Not one of you will get away."

"What do you mean?" Jexy immediately stepped forward to protect the three children. "Are you trying to scare them? Brandon Vein, successor of the Vein family, do you have any evidence?"

She scoffed before continuing, "First, do you have any evidence that Sean actually manipulated your family’s stocks? Second, can you prove that Kevin hacked your system? Third, do you have any evidence that Zahn owns that hospital?"

Jexy stared sharply at Brandon.

"If you do, show it to me. If you can prove it, I’ll let you take all three of them. But if you can’t, don’t even think about taking them away from me. And one more thing, we haven’t settled the matter of Hana’s kidnapping yet."

Brandon fell silent for a moment. His expression darkened as he faced Jexy’s boldness.

"Jexy Hesh, do you know that the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council has gathered all the evidence of Orland Hesh’s fraud and misconduct? Do you still have time to deal with this matter?"

"They are my grandchildren. My biological grandchildren!" Jexy shouted angrily. "Do you think I’ll let your family take the Hesh family’s successor away from me?"

Brandon smiled coldly. He had no intention of wasting any more time arguing, so he nodded at his subordinates again.

They immediately moved to take the people in front of them out of the residence. Dion’s men had been completely subdued, so none of them could stop what was happening.

However, before Brandon’s subordinates could lay a hand on anyone, Hans had already stepped forward to block their way.

"Aren’t you in too much of a hurry? What are you planning to do to these children? Just because they’ve done a few things, you immediately want to arrest them and take them away?"

Hans looked at Brandon with a condescending smile.

"Brandon, you’re really full of yourself. You dare to break into the western ruler’s residence with the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council’s men and abduct the people inside." He grinned. "Has the Head of the Supervisory Council given you permission to do all this?"

Brandon snorted.

"Hans Xin, I’m simply carrying out the orders of the Deputy Head of the Melvin Continent’s Supervisory Council. He ordered me to arrest everyone involved in the chaos in the Vein family’s territory today, including those suspected of being involved in the murder of his son."

He looked at Hans with a mocking expression.

"You’ll be coming with them, too. None of you can simply walk away. Meanwhile, the Deputy Head is arranging permission from the Head of the Supervisory Council to arrest and interrogate all of you."

Hans chuckled. He looked Brandon up and down before shaking his head.

"I really don’t understand how Hana could have had an ex-boyfriend like you. Aside from being handsome, rich, and intelligent, do you have anything else going for you?"

Sean, Kevin, and Zahn, standing behind him, exchanged glances before shaking their heads in disbelief.

Is this man complimenting Brandon or insulting him?

Brandon raised an eyebrow and snorted softly. He had no intention of responding to Hans’s sarcasm and immediately turned around.

"Deal with these people. Search every corner of the house again and find Hana for me."

Seeing that he had been completely ignored, Hans merely smiled as he watched Brandon’s back.

You want to take Hana away from me again? Dream on!

In an instant, Hans lunged forward, grabbed Brandon by the collar, wrapped his arm around the man’s neck, and pulled him backward toward the children and Jexy.

Over the past five years, Hans had run various illegal businesses while also studying different forms of martial arts. Suddenly restraining Brandon without giving the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council’s subordinates a chance to react was not difficult for him.

"Did you think you could just leave? Have you asked for my permission? You really have no manners," Hans sneered.

The Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council’s subordinates immediately backed away. Not one of them dared to approach when they saw Brandon in Hans’s grip.

"Hans Xin, do you dare defy the Deputy Head’s orders?"

"I haven’t done anything wrong. So what do I have to be afraid of? Besides..."

"Mother!"

Zahn’s sudden shout interrupted Hans.

The little boy pushed through the crowd and ran toward Hana, who had just appeared. Sean and Kevin immediately followed him, then hugged their mother, who was also hurrying toward them.

"Are you all right?" Hana asked as she hugged them tightly.

Sean looked up at her. "Mother, why did you come out?"

"It’s not safe here for you, Mother," Kevin added.

Zahn nodded in agreement. "Mother..."

Hana shook her head, stopping her youngest son’s words. She then looked at the people surrounding them, still holding weapons in their hands.

Her knees trembled involuntarily. She didn’t know what was actually happening, but she realized that continuing to hide in the basement where Dion’s secretary had taken her earlier was not a solution.

Hana immediately hid her three children behind her, ignoring their protests. After making sure all three were behind her, she looked at the people surrounding them one by one.

"What are you going to do?"

Her gaze eventually stopped on Jexy, who looked back at her and shook her head in frustration.

A moment later, her gaze shifted to Hans, who was still holding Brandon in a chokehold with his arm.

"Hana..." Brandon called softly.

Thud!

Upon hearing that affectionate voice, Hans immediately slammed Brandon onto the floor and stepped on his body.

Bang!

A gunshot suddenly echoed through the room. A bullet struck a computer, startling everyone.

"What are you doing?" one of the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council’s subordinates shouted. "Hans Xin, how dare you hurt someone appointed by the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council to take charge of this operation?"

Hans turned toward the man pointing a gun at him. His lips curled into a mocking smile just as his phone suddenly vibrated.

He answered the call and listened to the report from the other end before smiling faintly.

"My men have arrived at Dion Sexa’s residence. Stop causing unnecessary trouble."

Hans’s smile widened as he looked at Brandon.

"Now, let’s see who will regret their actions today."
