Chapter 1158: Arrogance That Leads to Disaster.

A few more years passed within the Ritual, and then it was the 170,000th year of the Empire. Victor finally had a small clue, a clue that he had been searching for since the beginning, when he started the Ritual.

Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy, approximately 80,000 light-years from Yggdrasil. On one of the moons of the planets under the Empire’s control.

"In the beginning, God made man, and man in his arrogance thinks he made God. And in the end, God was killed by man. Now, it is man who wants to be God." The being’s voice echoed through the room. "This happened a long time ago, before you even existed, Nikolai."

Nikolai Francis Nichev, demigod, one of the many descendants of Dagda, the Celtic God, not a direct son, but more like a great-great-grandson to this man: Imperial Mother born in Yggdrasil, Juliette Dubois, and Imperial Father Ivankov Nichev, descendant of Dagda.

"T-The Emperor’s Herald."

Nikolai was shitting himself badly now. He knew that what he was doing would attract the Empire’s attention, but he never thought that the Emperor would send his Herald.

The Emperor’s Herald only moved with his will. No one knew how many there were, and no one had survived to tell stories. Technically, he shouldn’t even know about this information, but his patron was a special being.

War, reborn as the Progenitor of his own race by the Emperor, a race that serves only the Emperor, his strongest Herald.

Normally, for a small fish like him, War didn’t even need to move, only needing to send his subordinates, the other heralds, but this man... This man was worthy of his presence, and of his subordinates. What was inside him made the Emperor himself move.

Under War’s hood, his face, made of pure darkness, looked at the man kneeling in front of him. His mere presence should have driven this man insane from sheer incomprehension of what he was seeing, but he still resisted. And that was precisely why War was here. This man had been touched by the gods of the upper sectors.

"You are a heretic, Nikolai. You betrayed the Emperor for foreign gods." In the blink of an eye, War was in front of the man.

"Speak. What were your orders?" His command was like a weight upon reality, forcing him to speak.

"A-Attack the Emperor’s bloodline, clone his blood, understand the mystery of his abnormality, my master wants to know who is-."

"AHHHHHH!" He screamed while holding his head, as black tears fell from his face.

Nikolai coughed violently, and corrupted blood fell onto the floor. War’s presence was slowly driving him insane, and even his existence was beginning to fail both because of War’s presence and because of his master.

Looking at that blood that had a divinity he had never felt before, War understood: ’I understand; that’s what the Emperor saw, huh? The Emperor’s vision never fails,’ he thought.

[My Master.]

[... War.] The Emperor’s voice echoed in his mind.

[Your Majesty was correct.]

War felt the Emperor’s gaze upon him. As his Herald, he was like the Emperor’s eyes, arms, and ears. If the Emperor so desired, he could serve as a vessel for the Emperor himself. Soon his vision changed, and he was able to see more thanks to the Emperor.

[Disgusting creature.] He heard the Emperor’s verdict, and he completely agreed.

In the vision of the Emperor and War, the man’s soul was an amalgamation of several things that were slowly degrading and corrupting him. It was not a corruption like his Eldritch power, but rather a corruption of conceptual degradation. He was slowly dying simply by existing.

’This is similar to the powers of those children of Niklaus, only a much stronger version... I understand, Niklaus had been in contact with them for a long time... Or, he found something left behind by them in this Sector, and used it on his children, and because of this, he attracted the attention of these creatures.’ Victor thought. He knew very well that the gods of the upper world threw various fragments of items into the lower Sectors so that they could influence the lower Sectors and eventually place that Sector under their domain. It was apparently a very common practice.

[Bring it to me.]

A power made of darkness and violet covered Nikolai, and soon he was in ecstasy, as the Emperor literally tore them out of reality and pulled him into another dimension.

[Yes, My Master]

When the Emperor’s presence disappeared, War turned his attention to the man: "Rejoice, Nikolai. In the end, the Emperor is merciful. You will have his mercy by being useful to the Empire one last time."

Grabbing the man by the neck, his subordinates appeared: four beings, two men and two women. Dressed like him, they were wearing hoods, and where their faces were, nothing could be seen, just like their Progenitor.

"Status."

"All captured and delivered to the Third Legion."

"Good."

"What do we do with the installation?"

"Such a place is stained with the intentions of a Heretic. It is unworthy of the Emperor."

In the blink of an eye, the five vanished and appeared far away from the moon. War raised his palm toward the moon and closed his hand. The moon was immediately compressed by an unknown force, and in less than two seconds, a small stone stood in War’s hand. The strange thing was that even when the moon disappeared, there were no problems on the planet below. Such minor problems were unworthy of the Emperor’s Herald. Their level of power and authority was among the strongest, on the same level as some of the Emperor’s strongest wives, being slightly superior thanks to him being an Eldritch being. But such comparisons were useless. War was the Herald handpicked by the Emperor, the Emperor’s will given form.

Erasing the moon completely, War immediately began making another moon identical to the one he erased, and placed it in the same location, exactly identical, as if nothing had changed. "A clean new beginning."

...

Victor stood up from the Ritual site, and then teleported to a dimension he made at the edges of his Sector. He wasn’t stupid enough to bring a creature touched by foreign gods into his personal world, or anywhere near his family. And therefore, he brought him to a place he could abandon at any moment.

Appearing in a laboratory, Victor began muttering in Draconic and Eldritch language. Runes appeared around him and soon began merging with the surrounding space as he isolated this place from reality as much as possible. He placed several countermeasures in the dimension to prevent anyone from escaping.

He quickly remodeled the laboratory into a place that looked like a sacrificial altar, with a bed made of stone, and soon hundreds of runes began appearing all over it.

War appeared along with his subordinates as they, along with War, immediately knelt before the 5.50-meter-tall Emperor.

"Good Work, my Heralds." Nikolai’s body began to float under Victor’s control, and then he placed him on the stone bed.

"We live to serve."

Words of thanks were not necessary for the Heralds, but Victor never lost this habit that he acquired when he fused with Adonis. Herald or not, important subordinate or not, if the subordinate did a good job at his command, he would thank him. By doing this, he was recognizing the efforts of his subordinates and consequently making them happy. After all, the Heralds were not machines, they were still alive. And this applies to all the Empire’s subordinates.

The proof was right in front of the Emperor, as by simply thanking them, Victor felt the emotions of happiness and purpose overflowing from the heralds.

War looked at the stone bed that had hundreds of runes, and even despite being an Eldritch creature, just by looking at it, he felt the beginning of a headache. It was still bearable, but he probably wouldn’t be able to look at it for long.

’As expected of Your Majesty.’

"...." Victor opened his mouth and spoke only one word, but his subordinates didn’t understand anything. It was as if he had spoken in a completely unknown, inaudible frequency.

The Eldritch language was not strange to them, but when the Emperor spoke, it was as if a being from a higher dimension tried to speak with a being from a lower dimension. Nothing was understood, and given how complex the Ritual was, it was understandable that they didn’t understand anything.

When the Emperor spoke, the runes began to activate, and all the runes written on the stone bed began to move as if they were alive as they entered Nikolai’s body.

Nikolai opened his eyes wide, as well as his mouth, and screamed:

"......" But nothing was heard or understood.

His body began to float, and more and more runes began entering his body, as his existence was being forcibly remodeled for the Emperor’s purposes.

When all the runes entered Nikolai’s body, he plummeted from the air and fell onto the stone. Observing everything with a cold gaze, the Emperor didn’t waste time.

"Rise, filthy creature, I know you are in there."

With his body broken and destroyed, Nikolai... Wrong, it would be more correct to say the creature inside him stood up.

"... Splendid."

The Heralds immediately stood up and spread out around the creature, surrounding it. War stood in front of the Emperor, protecting him.

"You pulled my consciousness from the upper sectors here... You are, without a doubt, the anomaly he talks about so much."

’Tsk, a small fish, waste of time.’ Victor didn’t waste time with useless speech. The moment it fell into his domain, he read the entire existence of the fragment of this God in front of him. They were enemies the moment they planned against his family, and he had no mercy for beings like this.

’A lot of context is missing, as expected. It’s the same as my clones; he isn’t here, and it’s only a piece of his consciousness.’ Victor understood the situation, but even so, he didn’t interrupt him, as there was the slightest chance that he would let something useful slip. That was also the purpose of the runes, as Victor only observed. In any case, he wouldn’t escape from here.

"The newcomer <Chaos>, an anomaly that, even while being in a lower sector, you understand reality so well..." His eyes of pure darkness narrowed, and a smile of happiness was seen: "The owner of <Negativity>."

"You are the spark we were waiting for, the spark for the war for the throne, HAHAHHAHAHA~."

"You have no idea how famous you are, such a great anomaly, <Light> is searching for you like crazy, he wants your Negativity for himself-..."

"Why am I talking so much...? I’m not as talkative as those pigs of <Emperor>."

"... You did something to me... What language is this?" He looked at Victor’s subordinates: "Impossible, beings from beyond Death!? How!?"

"Speak more, don’t stop." Victor’s eyes narrowed.

"Who do you think you’re ordering around? I am-... He wants to kill and absorb you to take the throne for himself, but we won’t let that happen, we will-... Hunt you down and take the power-."

"How? Tell-me."

As far as Victor knew, divine concepts as high in the hierarchy as Negativity or Positivity cannot be absorbed. After all, all other divine concepts literally descend from them. Negativity was responsible for the divine concept that controls spirituality, negative concepts, and abstract concepts. Positivity is responsible for the material world, positive concepts, and concrete concepts. The joining of the two was what formed Chaos, which is literally everything that has already been created and will be created in the future. It is impossible to steal this, you have to be worthy, or at least Victor mistakenly thought so.

One thing is <Light> coming after Victor and taking this from him, since Victor already expected this. After all, Positivity and Negativity were literally one concept divided in two, and it would be completely different if some random person were trying to steal this from the two.

"I-..."

"SPEAK." The entire dimension trembled when the Emperor ordered, as he raised his hand and used his powers to prevent him from escaping.

"I heard that <Darkness>, <Emperor> and <Law> can assu-...."

The body literally exploded along with the soul.

’A soul contract at a very high level, probably an existential level.’ Which means that the entire being of that creature was under the influence of another entity that placed severe limitations on him, but... So what? Such a thing would be the end for a normal being, but the one he was dealing with was the Dragon Emperor. Victor Elderblood.

Victor’s eyes shone: "You will not escape from me."

Victor forced the entire shattered soul to reunite. He used his power of Negativity, Life, BEGIN, time, space, soul, Eldritch, and dragon reality distortion and literally forced time to turn back, along with his soul and body. He combined this with the preparations he’d made beforehand, using the runes and the dimension as a controlled environment. The impossible was done.

’You will not go to the Akashic Record, not until I know everything I want.’

The being began to reconstruct itself, then 30 seconds later, he was there alive again as if nothing had happened.

"Impossible... IMPOSSIBLE! I felt this fragment die, I-... How did you pull my-..." He swallowed hard when he looked at Victor, and all he saw was a thing made of thousands of violet eyes and mouths... His eyes exploded from not understanding what he was seeing.

"SPEAK TO ME!"

Victor’s existence in Emperor form spread throughout the entire dimension as this place became the stomach of an Eldritch God, a shapeless cosmic Horror.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

His existence exploded, but this time, he returned almost immediately.

"Speak," Victor commanded, but nothing was understood by him.

The body exploded again, and the next second, he reformed. When he reformed this time, his mind was collapsing, but Victor did not allow it.

"I-..." He died.

He revived.

"I heard rumors that <Darkness> plans to steal-."

He died and was revived immediately afterward. This time, he couldn’t even say anything as his body simply collapsed before the cosmic horror, but he would not have peace. ℴ

"No matter how many times you die, I will bring you back."

"Now, speak."

...

623,596,777,174 deaths later, years passed in there, but Victor didn’t care. Victor learned all the information that this fragment knew, and about the God connected to it. ’Fool, this is why you make a contingency plan in case you can’t escape the body.’ Victor thought disdainfully.

’It’s a shame he is only an elite warrior, and not someone of great importance, only a slightly bigger fish... But it’s good to have more information.’ The Faction Victor understood the most now was the Faction of <Darkness>, a being who contained hundreds of galaxies under his command.

’And with this, I can confirm that the faction that has Niklaus is the one led by <Darkness>.’ Despite being a slightly bigger fish, he gave a lot of useful information because, though he was a little more important, he was competent and paid attention to what was going on around him. He didn’t know details about many things, and much information could not be taken into consideration. After all, they were only the thoughts of the God himself and rumors he heard, but having a general idea of things was already good enough.

’This did not confirm that others can steal my Negativity. He had no concrete facts about it.’ Victor decided to keep his previous thoughts, but always keep an open mind for unforeseen circumstances.

The God who was using Nikolai’s body was also dead from the corruption of extreme contact with a cosmic Horror.

Erasing the dead body with his powers, since he had already gotten everything he wanted from this God, taking the body impregnated with the Eldritch stench would be foolish.

"Come, My Heralds."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Upon leaving the dimension, Victor completely destroyed it.
