Chapter 581

"...."

Ray didn’t need a seer to tell him what stood before him.

From the aura alone, which felt similar to Elyon’s, he knew what had appeared in the room.

The brilliant light that had accompanied the Celestial was fading at an impressive rate, gradually revealing the figure that had come for them.

Nobody could get up from where they knelt.

It was as though they were being held down by fear or something else entirely.

Perhaps it was the sheer power of the aura the Celestial exuded, or perhaps it was something they couldn’t understand. Whatever the reason, one thing was clear....

.... Nobody was capable of moving at the moment. They could only remain on their knees, staring into the dying light as the Celestial was finally revealed before them all.

The Celestial stood tall and lean, his presence carrying a quiet authority that seemed completely natural to him.

His skin was pale white, almost luminous against the otherwise dull surroundings of the living room. It was smooth and flawless, giving his stern appearance an almost statuesque quality.

His face was sharply defined, with high cheekbones, a narrow jaw, and thin lips that rarely showed emotion. A pair of pale white horns rested atop his head, almost like a crown.

His eyes were a piercing, deep gold, their gaze cold and unwavering, as though few things in existence were capable of truly surprising him.

His hair was short and dark, swept backward from his forehead, with a slightly raised ridge running along the crown of his head and towards the back. It contrasted sharply against his pale skin, making his features even more striking.

He wore an immaculate dark-blue-and-black garment that fitted closely around his lean frame.

A high collar encircled his neck, while a flowing dark-blue robe draped over his body. Subtle golden patterns ran across the fabric, glowing faintly like light trapped beneath its surface.

A long crimson cloak hung from his shoulders, flowing behind him whenever he moved. Its fabric appeared impossibly smooth, untouched by dust or wear, and a small golden emblem rested at the centre of his chest.

Everything about his appearance was refined.

There were no unnecessary ornaments, no excessive armour, and no signs of battle-worn equipment.

He simply looked like someone who had never needed to prove his strength.

Even standing motionless, he radiated an overwhelming sense of dignity. The air around him seemed unnaturally still, as though even his surroundings were reluctant to disturb him.

He did not possess the wild presence of a warrior or the flamboyance of a noble.

His presence was colder than that.

It was the quiet, absolute presence of someone who belonged to a level of existence that ordinary beings could only look up towards.

And right there, before them all, stood the figure, gazing around like a curious puppy.

Yet, for the most part, his gaze remained fixed on Ray, ignoring everyone else as though they didn’t exist in the first place.

"A Tribrid, huh.... You sure are going to give the realm a lot of headaches," the Celestial uttered, his voice ever so delicately torn between soothing and menacing.

It was almost pleasant to the ears, yet at the same time, it filled whoever heard it with a quiet dread of the unknown.

Ray ground his teeth, panic threatening to overwhelm him as he listened to Elyon screaming at a disturbing volume inside the mindspace.

He almost sounded like an excited young lady who had just been proposed to by the man of her dreams.

The only difference was that the Celestial wasn’t excited. He was afraid of what, or who, had come for them.

Bruce had a worried look in his eyes as he stared at Elyon, who was kneeling beside the chair with his hands clamped over his ears.

"What happened to you now? Do you have any recollection of who he is? Should we be worried?" Bruce asked, the panic in his voice growing.

Very few things could make him feel worried.

Even when he had seen Captain Raze for the first time, he hadn’t been afraid.

Heck, even a Six-Spined Aberrant could do nothing to make him fret. Yet, for reasons unknown to him, or perhaps long forgotten, he felt his muscles tensing with worry.

He didn’t know why, but the moment the Celestial appeared, a deep sense of doom settled over him.

He just couldn’t recall it yet.

As for Elyon, he was facing the same dilemma.

Just on a different scale.

A rush of fragmented memories flashed through the Celestial’s mind as he desperately tried to make sense of what he was seeing, but to no avail.

The memories were like a distant dream, elusive and impossible to grasp.

No matter how hard he tried to hold on to them, it was like trying to hold water in his hands, with everything slipping through his fingers.

His mind was in turmoil as several broken pieces struggled to come together, yet he couldn’t form a clear picture.

He was about to give up when, finally, as though pulled together by a thin thread, a few fragmented images rushed together until a clear frame appeared in his mind.

The moment he saw it, his hands slipped away from his head. His gaze darted repeatedly between the image in his mind and the Celestial who had appeared before them.

Elyon’s hands trembled like a fish out of water.

A loud gulp, like a stone being thrown into a body of water, escaped him as his heart pounded with fear at what he was seeing.

He had finally recalled who this Celestial was, and the situation wasn’t....

"Elyon! Hurry, tell me what’s going on! Is this a low-level Cele—"

"—Fuck no!" Elyon shouted, interrupting the Tribrid, panic evident in his voice.

A bead of sweat clung to his temple, which he desperately tried to wipe away.

"He-He-He’s not a low-level Celestial, he—"

"Oh, my bad." The Celestial finally spoke after spending a few seconds surveying the entire place.

He wore a somewhat friendly smile, which only made everyone even more uneasy.

"How rude of me not to introduce myself to you."

Elyon gulped.

"He’s trouble."

"I’m Edd. A Messenger for the First Ones, and I’ve been sent down to the mortal realm to summon you, Tribrid. You have been summoned to the Celestial Realm."
