Chapter 351: Dark Nova’s Entry(Bonus)
If, someday, Ethan genuinely developed feelings for another woman, Isabella had only one condition; she refused to accept vague relationships.
She had no interest in secret lovers, undefined arrangements, or casual romances.
If another woman was ever going to become part of Ethan’s life, then she was to become his wife as well.
To Isabella, marriage established order, carried responsibility, permanence, and public acknowledgment.
Anything else would only cheapen the relationship, making it appear promiscuous rather than meaningful.
More importantly, it would diminish her own dignity as Ethan’s wife.
That...was the agreement Ethan had accepted.
Although, there was another factor at play here.
Instinct
He cherished Hayley, and treasured her place in his life. And as a dragon, the instinct within him wanted only one thing.
To make her his, entirely and forever.
But then ofcourse, he didn’t explain this instinct part.
Hayley stared into his eyes for several seconds before a bright smile slowly spread across her face.
She stepped forward, gently looping both arms around his neck. In response, Ethan’s hands settled around her waist, drawing her closer.
"So..." she murmured, inching toward him until only a breath separated them.
"You won’t run away anymore... when I do this?"
Before he could answer, she closed the remaining distance, letting her lips meet his in a slow, lingering kiss.
Ethan responded as well, pulling her just a little closer as the kiss deepened naturally, neither of them rushing to break it.
But.. in that moment, A certain presence announced itself.
Both Ethan and Hayley stopped, and slowly turned to the sight a lone figure descending from the sky.
He lowered himself, until he came to a stop several meters above the ruined ground.
This figure was a heavily built man with short dark hair, broad shoulders, and a muscular physique.
A black bodysuit covered him from neck to boots, perfectly fitted on his muscular frame, while a long black cape hung from his shoulders.
The moment he arrived, the atmosphere itself seemed to tighten.
Neither Ethan nor Hayley recognized the face. But that silly cape behind him immediately gave them an idea of what he was.
A Hero.
There were others like him in Gritnia, dressed in similar fashion and bearing that same title.
The man’s gaze swept across the devastated landscape, and turned back toward them after taking it all in.
His expression looked stern
"I am Dark Nova, special Agent of the Western Coalition; Assigned to the nation of Gritnia to investigate, suppress, and report all matters concerning large-scale disturbances and extra-territorial attacks."
Neither Ethan nor Hayley said anything immediately.
They just continued looking at the man, waiting for him to get to whatever point he was trying to make.
Dark Nova spoke again. "Is this area of land your property? If so, might I ask to see proof?"
"It isn’t." Ethan answered calmly. "But I don’t see how that’s any reason to bother us. This place belongs to no one."
"It does." Dark Nova cut in. "To the nation of Gritnia."
His gaze swept across the devastated landscape before returning to them.
"And not only have you ruined it..."
He raised a hand, pointing toward the stretch of land that connected to the distant expressway.
"...Your actions have been carried out without care or control. They are already beginning to affect the road civilians travel through."
Then he lifted his arm toward the sky. "I heard the two of you from another city while I was traveling here."
And after a pause, he added. "I will have to ask the both of you to leave this place at once."
"I don’t think I like your tone." Hayley said, a scowl slowly forming across her face.
"Mate," Ethan spoke, his voice remaining composed. "We’ve taken note of your caution."
He gave a shrug. "But we’re only leaving here when we want to."
Dark Nova slowly descended the remaining distance before his boots settled upon the broken rubble.
The instant he landed, his expression hardened even further into a frown.
His irises turned completely black, while his pupils shone white.
Then, in a voice that carried across the twenty meters separating them, he spoke with unmistakable authority.
"I will ask you both one more time, leave this premises."
His presence suddenly expanded across the area, pressing down upon everything around him.
Ethan and Hayley appeared unfazed by his enveloping aura.
And Dark Nova himself, showed neither fear nor caution, despite knowing that the two before him were Grand Class.
Right then, a magic circle opened before Ethan as purple particles of mana gathered together before forming the figure of a striking young man.
He was almost beautiful. Slightly messy blond hair framed a handsome face, while calm blue eyes regarded the surroundings.
He possessed a lean, athletic build and wore a black leather jacket over a fitted black V-neck shirt, with plain dark trousers completing the outfit.
This was Arthur Pendragon.
A Beast Class summon whose crown was Merlin’s gift to Ethan only a few months ago.
Although, Arthur had appeared without his weapon, and was not dressed in his full regalia.
"Greetings to you, Summoner." Arthur began warmly, almost extending his hand for a handshake.
"Nope. None of that today." Ethan replied immediately, waving his hand off and reaching to take Hayley’s.
Then, he began walking several steps backward with her.
"There’s an enemy standing right in front of you, and you’re trying to shake my hand." Ethan let out a disappointed sigh as he shook his head.
This summon’s character traits were really annoying sometimes.
Arthur scratched the back of his head with an awkward smile. "Fair enough."
Only then did he turn around to properly face Dark Nova, who had never once taken his eyes off them.
Arthur began walking toward the Hero Agent with an easy smile on his face. "Greetings to you. I am Arthur Pendragon."
He raised a hand lightly as though trying to ease the tension between them.
"Now, I understand how the situation may look, but perhaps there’s a way we can settle—"
Without the slightest warning, Dark Nova moved instantly, shooting his right fist forward.
It traveled with such frightening speed that it was already mere inches away from Arthur’s widened face.
However, Arthur’s head tilted to the side at the very last instant and the punch missed.
A violent shockwave tore past him instead, continuing straight behind.
The rushing air swept over Ethan and Hayley several meters away, ruffling both their hair.
"Hm.. That’s a powerful punch." Ethan muttered, following the path of the attack.
At this time, Arthur had already taken several paces backward before letting out a sigh. "Okay... it does seem you’ve gone past the voice of reason."
He straightened himself before adding, "But, I do not sense evil from you..."
Before the words had even fully left his mouth, Dark Nova vanished and reappeared directly in front of Arthur, another punch already driving toward his face.
Arthur weaved cleanly to the side, avoiding it by the narrowest of margins before continuing his footwork, deliberately drawing Dark Nova farther away.
Step after step, dodge after dodge...
He subtly guided the exchange in another direction, ensuring every attack remained well away from his Summoner.
The distance between Ethan and the rapidly moving pair steadily widened.
