My Virtu-Real Harem System

Chapter 32: Hunter’s Domain

The dark, narrow laboratory corridor of the first floor felt less like an industrial hallway and more like an enclosed kill-zone. Leo stood perfectly still, his heavy combat boots planted firmly into the diamond-plate steel flooring, his muscles coiled like tight springs beneath his form-fitting Western combat uniform layers. His large hand held the hilt of his silver long sword with a disciplined, unyielding grip, the razor-sharp blade glistening under the faint, ambient green light bleeding from the server racks. Every single metric inside his brain was tuned to its absolute maximum capacity. He was fully prepared to face whatever twisted anomaly, high-level system trial, or terrifying beast stepped out from the midnight shadows next.

"Your confidence is quite a spectacular variable, Leo," the distorted masculine voice crackled through the overhead speaker system once more, its synthesized frequency carrying a chilling note of absolute anticipation. "You conquered the beast of raw instinct. But now, let's see how your attributes adapt when the simulation layer forces you to become the prey. Fight this creature... and try to survive the calculation."

VREEEET.

Directly at the far end of the corridor, twenty feet away, the air violently fractured. A massive, jagged violet spatial portal tore open with a high-voltage screech, bleeding a wave of intense heat and crackling ozone into the hallway.

But unlike the ground-shaking, roaring exit of the Chimera, the entity that stepped through this rift moved with a terrifying, absolute silence.

The silhouette stood over seven feet tall, possessing a massive, towering humanoid frame corded with dense, alien muscle blocks. Its metallic, high-tech biomask reflected the eerie emerald glare of the laboratory lights, the three glowing red laser dots of its targeting telemetry pulsing softly against the concrete walls. Heavy, industrial mesh netting wrapped around its deep-tan skin, and thick, cord-like dreadlocks fell past its broad, armored shoulders. Slid smoothly onto its right forearm were twin, razor-sharp serrated wrist blades, glistening with a lethal, mirror-polished edge.

It was a Yautja, an apex predator from the deepest layers of the system matrix. Unlike the Chimera, this creature didn't move to hunt for food, nor did it react with blind, animalistic rage. Every single step it took was calculated, disciplined, and driven entirely by the cold, ruthless logic of the ultimate hunt.

The Yautja slowly tilted its armored head, its biomask emitting a low, clicking guttural sound that rattled the metallic ventilation pipes above. It didn't roar. It simply raised its right forearm, the twin wrist blades extending with a sharp, mechanical click that signaled absolute execution.

"What kind of simulation tier is this?" Leo muttered, his deep voice snapping with rigid focus as a cold bead of sweat traced down his sharp jawline. "System, analyze the target metrics!"

Ding!

[SYSTEM SCAN DATA: UNKNOWN CATEGORY APEX HUNTER]

[WARNING: TARGET ATTRIBUTES EXCEED STANDARD FRESHMAN THRESHOLDS]

[COMBAT COMPLIANCE: CRITICAL FORCE-MULTIPLIER DETECTED]

Before the notification window could even fully dissolve, the Yautja vanished from his sight.

Leo’s eyes dilated into pinpricks. His reflexes violently screamed, forcing his athletic frame to instinctively dive backward flat across the steel floorboards. A split-second later, a terrifying hum cut through the air as the Yautja materialized exactly where Leo had been standing, its massive twin wrist blades carving a deep, jagged trench straight through the solid concrete wall paneling, sending a violent shower of sparks and stone shrapnel flying across the corridor.

Leo scrambled to his feet, driving his boots into the floor as he lunged forward, swinging his silver long sword in a powerful, two-handed horizontal arc targeting the alien's neck. The blade moved with blinding speed, but the Yautja casually parried the strike, raising its armored left forearm gauntlet to catch the edge of the steel.

BANG!

A deafening metallic clang echoed through the laboratory hall. The sheer, brute force of the alien’s parry vibrated violently up Leo's arms, nearly numbing his fingers and fracturing his stamina metrics on impact. The Yautja didn't give him a single microsecond to recover; moving with an explosive, high-mobility grace, the hunter drove its heavy, armored boot straight into Leo’s chest vest.

"Ghh—!" Leo grunted in raw pain as the crushing blow threw his heavy frame backward. He smashed violently against a row of empty glass server racks, the reinforced panes shattering into a cascade of sharp crystal fragments that rained down over his shoulders.

Leo barely managed to roll to the side as the Yautja immediately leaped forward, its heavy combat boots crushing the metal frame of the server rack where his head had been a fraction of a second before. The alien was relentless, moving with a cold, terrifying tactical precision that left Leo constantly fighting just to keep his breathing steady. Every single exchange was a frantic, hair-raising escape.

Leo swung his blade defensively, forcing the hunter to take a half-step back, before using the opening to slide deep back into a combat stance. "You're fast," Leo spat out, his dark obsidian-grey eyes tracking the three red laser dots currently dancing across his left shoulder. "But your tracking telemetry is loud!"

The Yautja let out another low, clicking mechanical chitter through its biomask, as if thoroughly amused by the underclassman's survival tenacity. It reached toward its heavy utility belt, detaching a sleek, metallic smart-disc. With a flick of its massive wrist, the disc expanded into a spinning, multi-bladed circular saw that hummed with a terrifying kinetic energy as it zipped through the corridor, tracking Leo’s heat signature.

Leo aggressively hit the floor, the spinning smart-disc slicing a mere millimeter above his textured chocolate-brown hair, completely severing a thick bundle of steel high-voltage cables from the ceiling. Sparks exploded in a brilliant, blinding blue cascade, lighting up the dark hallway as the severed lines whipped wildly across the walls.

Taking advantage of the chaotic, blinding electrical smoke, Leo surged forward with every single ounce of his physical power. He closed the distance in a flash sprint, thrusting his long sword straight toward the unarmored chest mesh of the apex hunter.

The silver steel hit its mark, biting two inches deep into the alien's torso. A thick spray of glowing, luminescent neon-green blood splattered across Leo’s grey vest, sizzling faintly as it touched the synthetic fabric.

The Yautja let out a low, guttural hiss of genuine irritation. Ignoring the blade buried in its flesh, the massive alien grabbed the collar of Leo's combat vest with a crushing, iron grip, forcefully lifting his entire athletic frame completely off the ground. Moving with dominant, unyielding power, the hunter slammed Leo’s back hard against the concrete wall, pinning him in place as it retracted its left fist, the twin wrist blades positioning directly beneath Leo's chin.

Leo gritted his teeth, his arms locked as he used the crossguard of his sword to desperately wedge against the alien's gauntlet, barely halting the ascending blades centimeters from his throat. His stamina core was flashing a critical red warning across his vision; his physical attributes were being completely overwhelmed by the hunter's elite tier parameters.

I can't match its raw physical output with just standard steel, Leo analyzed rapidly, his chest heaving as the alien's massive weight pressed harder against his guard. My sword can't breach its high-tech armor variables.

"System...!" Leo roared firmly inside his mind, his voice straining against the crushing physical pressure. "Provide tactical compensation parameters! I need a real-world force-multiplier right now!"

Ding!

A sharp, high-voltage golden system notification box violently fractured his field of vision, illuminating the dark, smoky corridor in a bright, digital glare.

[TACTICAL COMBAT INTERFACE: EXTREME CRITICAL THRESHOLD]

[COUNTER-MEASURE PROTOCOL DETECTED: APEX PLASMA MATRIX]

[SYSTEM SYSTEM OFFER: DO YOU CHOOSE TO UNLOCK THE PLASMA-CHARGED HIGH-FREQUENCY ENERGY BLADE OVERWRITE REWARD?]

[EFFECTIVENESS METRIC: 400% DAMAGE BUFF TOWARD YAUTJA HIGH-TECH ARMOR MATERIALS]

Leo stared dead into the pulsing golden text floating right in front of his face, the metallic biomask of the alien hunter mere inches away as it prepared to drive its wrist blades through his guard.

"Yes!" Leo commanded with an unyielding, absolute alpha authority ringing through his mind. "Unlock it now!"

The golden screen violently dissolved into a massive wave of blinding violet grid lines, the system matrix humming with a terrifying new energy payload.
