Chapter 153 - 153
Chapter 153: Hu Pogu Draws His Conclusions
Ninth Heaven. The Tianji Pavilion.
Unlike cultivation sects, the Tianji Pavilion's branch was naturally built within the largest city of the Ninth Heaven.
The moment Hu Pogu stepped through the doors of the Tianji Pavilion, an attendant came forward to greet him.
"Esteemed guest, how may I be of service?"
Sensing the Saint King Realm aura radiating from the attendant, Hu Pogu shook his head lightly.
"Have your steward come out."
But before the attendant could even send word, the steward was already approaching with a broad smile.
"Fifth Elder of the Qingfeng Sect, Senior Hu. To what do we owe the honor of your visit to our Tianji Pavilion? Is there some big business to discuss?"
Though he bore the title of steward, his cultivation was equally modest--only at the Peak of the Immortal Stage.
Still, given the immense power of the Tianji Pavilion behind him, Hu Pogu greeted him with respectful courtesy, addressing him as Steward Lin.
Steward Lin glanced at the attendant beside him. The attendant immediately caught the hint and excused himself with practiced discretion.
Once the attendant had departed, Steward Lin continued with his ever-present smile and led Hu Pogu into a highly secluded Private Room.
"Senior Hu, what business brings you to our Tianji Pavilion today? Surely you haven't come just to exchange pleasantries with this Lin."
"Steward Lin, I'll dispense with the small talk then. I need to investigate two individuals. All I have are their names and dates of birth."
Hu Pogu wasted no words either. He extended a hand and pushed the information on Lu Xiaoyao and Lu Qingyun across the table.
If those two sects' Holy Son and Holy Maiden truly were Feng Qingyu's children, then all they needed was to divine the details of Feng Qingyu's offspring.
Steward Lin accepted the information. The moment he glanced at it, his expression turned serious.
"The people Senior Hu has come to our Tianji Pavilion to divine must not be simple."
"Naturally, I can't fool Steward Lin. These two are most likely the Holy Son of the Primordial Sect and the Holy Maiden of the Ancient Wood Sect."
Hu Pogu made no attempt to conceal the truth. If his own omission caused problems in the Tianji Pavilion's divination, he would be the one bearing the consequences.
And forget about himself--even the entire Qingfeng Sect wouldn't stand a chance against the Tianji Pavilion.
Steward Lin considered this briefly, then replied with his customary smile.
"The Tianji Pavilion has always been open for business. As long as the Immortal Liquid is sufficient, we can sell intelligence on anyone--even an Immortal Emperor."
"So then, if you wish to divine the details of these two, has Senior Hu prepared the Immortal Liquid?"
"Naturally. Here are ten thousand measures of Low-Grade Immortal Liquid. That should be sufficient for the Tianji Pavilion to act."
Hu Pogu's face twisted with pain as he spoke. Though he was an Immortal King, producing ten thousand measures of Low-Grade Immortal Liquid was still deeply agonizing.
Still, if it could confirm those two individuals' identities, it would be worth the price.
Steward Lin accepted the Storage Ring with a smile, then turned to leave. "Please wait here a moment, Senior Hu. I'll go fetch one of our Tianji Pavilion's Diviners."
Before long, Steward Lin returned, accompanied by an elderly man draped in a white overcoat.
That was the Tianji Pavilion's Diviner.
As the most powerful intelligence organization in the Immortal Realm, the Tianji Pavilion's strength lay in the Law of Divination cultivated by its Pavilion Master.
It was through the Law of Divination that the Diviner Immortal Emperor had broken through to the Immortal Emperor Realm, establishing the Tianji Pavilion as one of the Immortal Realm's paramount forces.
After entering the room, the Diviner sat cross-legged and produced an oddly shaped compass. He dripped a drop of Blood Essence onto it, and his complexion paled slightly.
But the Diviner paid it no mind. Forming seals with both hands and chanting beneath his breath, he began divining the information on those two individuals based on what Hu Pogu had provided.
The very instant the Diviner began his divination, Lu Xunxian, atop Heavenly Dao Mountain, sensed it.
But he paid it little attention. He knew Feng Qingyu's personality--if she learned that her son and daughter possessed such talent, she would undoubtedly exhaust every means to take them away.
He had already planted layers upon layers of protections on his son and daughter. Let alone a mere True Immortal Realm Diviner--even if the Diviner Immortal Emperor himself acted, he would divine nothing. That was the source of Lu Xunxian's confidence.
Inside the Tianji Pavilion, the Diviner's complexion grew paler the deeper he delved into the divination. After a long while, he finally stopped and shook his head at Hu Pogu.
"My apologies. My abilities are limited--I was unable to divine their information."
"What do you mean?" Hu Pogu furrowed his brow, his tone laced with confusion.
"Their information appears to have been erased. Forget about their life or death--I couldn't even divine their pasts."
"A situation like this can only mean one thing: a powerful being has erased their histories."
"And at minimum, a being at or above the Immortal Monarch level."
Upon reaching the Immortal King Realm and grasping the Power of Laws, one could erase a person's past from its very origin.
Unless one's strength far surpassed the being who had performed the erasure, it was fundamentally impossible to peer into the erased individual's history.
Hearing this, Hu Pogu's expression immediately turned grim. This was already sufficient to prove that Lu Xiaoyao and Lu Qingyun were entangled with a being at or above the Immortal Monarch level.
It was also enough to confirm that those two were most likely the Holy Son of the Primordial Sect and the Holy Maiden of the Ancient Wood Sect. Who else would expend such enormous effort to erase the pasts of two ordinary mortals?
What made him feel particularly apprehensive, however, was that this matter involved an Immortal Monarch. The question was where this Immortal Monarch had come from--the Primordial Sect or the Ancient Wood Sect?
If those two sects had truly produced an Immortal Monarch, then their approach toward dealing with them would need to change considerably.
"Though you were unable to uncover anything, I appreciate the effort."
Hu Pogu rose to his feet, thanked the Diviner, then turned and hurried back to the sect.
Upon returning, Hu Pogu did not immediately relay the matter to Ren Tianfeng and the others. Instead, he summoned all of the sect's elders.
As the Fifth Elder, Hu Pogu held a position of great importance within the sect. So when they heard his summons, it wasn't long before every elder in the sect had gathered in the sect hall.
"Old Fifth, what's happened?"
The Grand Elder looked at Hu Pogu, furrowing his brow as he asked.
Hu Pogu didn't beat around the bush and laid out the situation in full.
Hearing this, the expressions of every elder present turned solemn.
Grand Elder Wu Kun looked at Hu Pogu. "Old Fifth, are you certain this is true?"
"It's true."
"If we can pull those two away from those two sects and bring them to our Qingfeng Sect, it would absolutely be a boon for us!"
Hu Pogu's voice was charged with excitement as he spoke.
But Wu Kun shook his head. "Until we've investigated that mysterious Immortal Monarch, my recommendation is that we refrain from bringing those two into our Qingfeng Sect."
"We're talking about an Immortal Monarch, after all. Unless the Sect Master successfully breaks through to the Immortal Monarch Realm, this may not be a good thing for our Qingfeng Sect at all."
As Wu Kun spoke, the surrounding elders all came to the same realization and nodded in agreement one after another.
Seeing their reaction, Hu Pogu reined in his excitement and calmed down.
"The Grand Elder is right. What does the Grand Elder suggest?"
