My Wife Might Be a Saintess
Chapter 614 - 613: Incomplete Update
Chapter 614: Chapter 613: Incomplete Update
Jiang Zuo wasn’t worried about getting trapped. If he couldn’t fight his way out, he could just fly out. This place didn’t seem to have any restrictions.
Even if there were restrictions, Jiang Zuo didn’t care. After all, very few things could trap him.
Afterward, Jiang Zuo began to examine the stone steles.
The stone steles... well, they were more like stone walls now. The images on them seemed to be recording certain events.
In the first image, Jiang Zuo saw a person who... looked like a woman.
’She’s probably a woman,’ he thought. ’Maybe a bit flat-chested, but her facial features are definitely more feminine.’
The woman’s face was full of sanctity, and she had a transcendent, otherworldly aura.
Kneeling before her was a man.
He was a Warrior, seemingly listening to the woman’s sacred command.
Jiang Zuo continued to the next image.
The second image showed the Warrior staring at the woman in astonishment, looking as if he were about to stand up.
The scene continued.
The Warrior stood up, seemingly refusing the woman’s sacred command. But the woman’s expression didn’t change in the slightest; she still had that same holy appearance, her aura just as transcendent, as if nothing in the world could move her.
Next, the Warrior tried to leave, but the woman moved, restraining him.
At this point, a line of text appeared on the stone wall: "I am on the verge of death. I only wish to leave behind hope for you."
Jiang Zuo frowned. ’So, the woman said this?’
’A woman who seemed so holy and detached from the mortal world was about to die?’
Jiang Zuo found it oddly curious. ’Why do people like her always die so young?’
Shaking his head, he looked at the next carving.
Jiang Zuo then saw a new image. In this one, the woman who had been so holy and transcendent was now on her last breath.
She remained standing, but looked as if she could collapse at any moment.
To Jiang Zuo’s surprise, she was holding a bloody heart. And right where her own heart should have been, there was a gaping hole.
’So, the woman had torn out her own heart?’
Jiang Zuo didn’t understand, but he kept looking.
The images that followed were completely different.
The woman was gone, as was the Warrior.
Instead, a normal-looking young woman was sitting cross-legged on the ground. Her eyes were open, and she cradled the heart in her hands.
The next few images were all of this same young woman, always sitting cross-legged, always cradling the heart.
The only difference was her aura and the look in her eyes.
With each passing image, more of the young woman’s expression would vanish, while her aura grew more sacred.
In the later images, she looked almost identical to the woman from the very beginning.
Then, Jiang Zuo saw her stand up. She looked down at the heart, as if planning to do something with it.
Jiang Zuo looked for the next image, but this time he froze. There was nothing more...
Or rather, the mural was only half-finished. The most crucial part was missing.
Jiang Zuo looked around and realized that the spot where the mural ended was the same place he had seen the speck of light.
’In other words, could this have been left behind by that speck of light?’
’Of course, I can’t rule out the possibility that it was just here to look at the images, too.’
’But having a lead is always a good thing.’
’And another thing... is this related to the Seven Emotions and Six Desires Technique?’
Jiang Zuo reviewed the woman’s transformation from beginning to end and finally concluded that it probably was related.
He had a few theories, but some things were still completely inexplicable.
In the end, he stopped dwelling on it.
Jiang Zuo then shot up into the sky, flying over the stone steles and hovering above them.
’That speck of light moved quickly, but can anything I’ve seen truly escape me?’
’As long as it’s still in the Celestial Star Cave Mansion, there’s nowhere for it to hide.’
Just as Jiang Zuo prepared to search for the speck of light, Duan Qiao suddenly spoke up. "Um... that is..."
Jiang Zuo looked at it but said nothing.
"I... I accidentally connected the signal network inside the Cave Mansion."
Duan Qiao quickly explained, "Basically, I found something here that could receive a signal. I was just trying to stabilize the connection, but who knew..."
Jiang Zuo cut it off. "And the consequence?"
Duan Qiao stammered, "The... the entire Cave Mansion has a signal now."
Jiang Zuo asked, his face expressionless, "A stable one?"
Duan Qiao nodded. "Very stable."
Jiang Zuo said nothing more. Since there was a signal now, he didn’t much care whether it affected the Cave Mansion or not.
Leaping down from the steles, Jiang Zuo prepared to leave the Stone Forest.

Meanwhile, in a normal-looking forest, Chi Xue Child wondered if his luck was just too good.
The place was filled with flowers, grass, and trees, and he could use the abundant Spiritual Qi as lavishly as he pleased.
Plus, he didn’t have to eat grass; chewing on tree leaves was good enough.
Just then, Chi Xue Child’s phone suddenly rang.
He froze for a second, then pulled out his phone and stared, dumbfounded. "This phone is insane! How can it get a signal way out here?"
That’s right. The signal was at full bars.
People were still chatting in the group chat, so it had to be real.
To be safe, Chi Xue Child even took out his Red Sword, just in case he was trapped in an Illusion Array.
After confirming everything was normal, he finally opened the group chat.
Demon Cultivator Mo Yan: "Whoa, I need to get in there! Witch Dan Xue has lost her mind! I need to get in and hide!"
Liuyue Xue: "Serves you right."
Liu Yiyi: "I support Witch Dan Xue."
Demon Cultivator Mo Yan: "Whoa, you guys are discriminating against Demon Cultivators! Where’s Chi Xue Child? Quick, come get me!"
Chi Xue Child: "I’m already in the Celestial Star Cave Mansion."
Liuyue Xue: "[shocked emoji] The Celestial Star Cave Mansion is on Earth?"
Blade Master Hai Bian: "It’s not, but for some reason, we’re all online now."
Chi Xue Child: "I knew it. So it’s not just me who’s online."
Blade Master Hai Bian: "I’ve run into a few people over here, and they’re all online. No idea what’s happening."
Chi Xue Child: "Let’s @Fellow Daoist Po Xiao. Maybe he knows."
Demon Cultivator Mo Yan: "You guys really aren’t coming to save me? Liuyue Xue, you’ll regret this."
Liuyue Xue: "[image of a proud, solitary figure turning its back]"
Liuyue Xue wasn’t afraid of Mo Yan. Threats were useless against her.
Besides, Mo Yan couldn’t beat her anyway. With her Heaven-Breaking Spear, her attack power was off the charts.
Although her main role was that of a support-class healer who focused on farming, she was also an invincible Warrior.
She would even dare to bonk Chi Xue Child a few times with the Heaven-Breaking Spear.
A mere Mo Yan was nothing.
Heh.
Chu Qing: "Why would Liuyue Xue be the one to regret it, not Chi Xue Child?"
Demon Cultivator Mo Yan: "Because he’s too far away. Just look at the distance tracker, it’s off the charts."
Everyone: "..."
They were surprised Mo Yan even knew how to check that. They all looked and found that the distance was, indeed, off the charts.
The number went right off the screen.
Blade Master Hai Bian: "So it really works. But how accurate is it? I’m showing up as very close to Chi Xue Child."
Chi Xue Child: "Let’s try to meet up and see what the margin of error is."
Having reached an agreement, the two of them set off to find each other.
The others in the chat, however, were very curious about what the inside of the cave mansion was actually like.
Just then, Chen Yi popped up. "Want to see the Celestial Star Cave Mansion? Just watch the live stream. Remember that ’Fearless Streamer’ guy?
That’s right, it’s him again."
He then posted a link.
Clicking it opened up a truly bizarre scene.
