My Wife Might Be a Saintess

Chapter 668: You Still Dare to Hit Me?

Jingyue House

Jiang Zuo and Su Qi stood before Jingyue. Su Qi’s head was lowered, looking especially embarrassed.

Then Su Qi said, “I was sleeping. Jiang Zuo didn’t tell me, so it’s not my fault.”

Jiang Zuo said with a deadpan expression, “…It’s my fault.”

Jingyue looked at the two of them and said, “Does this mean I’ll have a flock of nieces and nephews following me around in the future?”

Jiang Zuo: “…”

Su Qi: “…”

After that, Jingyue didn’t say much more. She boarded the Soft Cloud and said, “Hurry up. The people from Baili Valley have been waiting. They’ll think we’re acting like big shots.”

They then headed straight for Baili Valley. It was very close, only a few minutes away.

That was why Jingyue had thoughtfully given them an extra morning. Alas, it would have been better if she hadn’t.

On the Soft Cloud, Jingyue said to Jiang Zuo, “Put on a glamour. Hide your identity.”

Su Qi asked curiously, “Why do we have to hide our identities?”

Jingyue said, “For the sake of your normal life. You’re the one who married out, it’s not like your husband married into our family. He doesn’t have some grand background. What happens if he gets targeted? That’s why very few people know you’re married.”

Su Qi lowered her head. ‘It really does affect our married life,’ she thought.

Jiang Zuo, on the other hand, didn’t mind. It was just wearing a mask, something he was quite used to.

Then, with a thought, a mask materialized on Jiang Zuo’s face. ‘Hmm, it’s a bit ugly,’ he mused, ‘but very few people can see through it.’

Jingyue nodded. “Alright, we’re here. And by the way, you two, be mindful. We’re out in public, so no public displays of affection.”

Su Qi stuck out her tongue. ‘I know how to be shy, you know.’

‘If I hadn’t forgotten myself for a moment, who would even want to show off?’

They then arrived at Baili Valley, where several Fairies came to receive them.

The Fairies of Baili Valley didn’t delay, leading Jingyue’s group directly to the front of a mountain valley.

Jiang Zuo recognized the valley; it was the same one he’d visited last time. The location was different, however. This time, an anomaly had appeared in the valley’s deepest part.

“The passage inside appeared suddenly,” said the leading Fairy from Baili Valley. “It startled us at first, but then we discovered a whole new world inside. We had no idea it was the Earth Valley Longyuan, the dwelling place of a Dragon.”

Relatively speaking, the information from the Holy Land had been very useful. At least it let them know that the Earth Valley Longyuan had a master and that the Dragon was inside. Acting rashly would lead to disaster.

Jingyue said, “Thank you, senior sisters. We’ll head in now. We appreciate your trouble.”

Jingyue was currently in her Saintess form, looking breathtakingly beautiful.

Su Qi and Qing Lian couldn’t compare, and as for the several Fairies from Baili Valley, they paled even more in comparison.

They nodded and watched Jingyue’s group go inside.

Once Jingyue was inside, one of the Fairies said, “So beautiful. Even more beautiful than in the live streams.”

“But our junior sister isn’t bad either. She doesn’t lose out to the Saintess at all.”

“Their auras are different. The Saintess has the aura of a Nine Heavens Goddess. Our junior sister is just cold and aloof—and a little mute.”

“Say that to her face and see if she doesn’t smack you with her Heaven-Breaking Spear.”

“She won’t. Demon Cultivator Mo Yan is sure to butt in, and he’ll definitely be the one who gets smacked.”

“And then we’d make some money again?”

Chatting and laughing, the group of Fairies left the valley.

What happened next had nothing to do with them.

————

Jingyue walked in the lead, with Jiang Zuo walking beside Su Qi. He couldn’t help but feel like he was being protected.

‘Speaking of which, neither Light Magic nor Qing Lian are a match for me, right?’

‘And if I wanted, the Wind Element could protect me at any time.’

‘If there’s danger, the other Elements can react instantly, providing Defense when they must and attacking when they should.’

‘But none of these Elements are a match for me, so I don’t need any protection at all.’

But if Su Qi wanted to protect him, what could he do about it?

Su Qi said to Jiang Zuo, “Don’t stray too far from me.”

Jiang Zuo said, “Actually, you might not be able to beat me.”

Su Qi stopped. Jingyue and Qing Lian stopped as well.

They all turned to look at Jiang Zuo.

Jiang Zuo was a little speechless.

‘I’m probably telling the truth, though.’

Then Su Qi looked at Jiang Zuo and said, “You’d dare to hit me?”

Jingyue grew thoughtful. Although she had been suspecting something recently, she hadn’t tried to connect Jiang Zuo to any particular person.

It would be too easy to expose her suspicions that way, and if she were wrong, it would be a very dangerous mistake.

But with Jiang Zuo saying something like this, she couldn’t help but let her mind run wild.

Jiang Zuo said, “No, what I mean is, my Elemental Minions would be the ones fighting. How could I ever raise a hand against you?”

Su Qi said, “And what if I get hit by your Elemental Minions?”

Jiang Zuo said, “My heart would ache.”

Then Su Qi gave his waist a hard pinch.

“HISS—Ouch, ouch ouch.”

Jiang Zuo winced. Su Qi had really put some force into it this time. It hurt like hell.

‘Is she trying to kill me?’

Afterward, Su Qi let go and said with a pained expression of her own, “Does it hurt a lot? My hand acted on its own, it wasn’t listening to me. Oh, my heart aches for you.”

Jiang Zuo: “…”

Then Su Qi asked, “So, can your Elemental Minions still hit me?”

Jiang Zuo: “No.”

Su Qi smiled. “Then can you beat me?”

Jiang Zuo looked at Su Qi and finally said, “I can’t.”

And with that, Su Qi was happy.

Jingyue watched them. Although it was a little painful to see, a Jiang Zuo like this definitely wasn’t practicing the Seven Emotions and Six Desires Technique.

So, everything remained a mystery, and she didn’t dare to jump to any conclusions.

Finally, Jingyue said, “So, brother-in-law, you think you’re pretty strong now?”

Qing Lian said, “After all, Brother Jiang is a Three-Element Mage. He must be much stronger than me.”

Qing Lian had only been Tier Two for a short while. She wasn’t that strong, and her talent couldn’t compare to Jingyue’s or Su Qi’s.

Those two had been leveling up recently like it was child’s play. Who could possibly keep up?

Witch Dan Xue had advanced around the same time as Jingyue, but while Jingyue was already at 3.5, Witch Dan Xue was still at 3.1.

And that was just the gap after one or two months.

Who would believe it if you said Jingyue wasn’t using a cheat?

Jiang Zuo shook his head.

‘I just got put in my place by Su Qi. What’s the point of comparing myself to them?’

With his current strength, a hundred of them combined wouldn’t be his match.

As for Magic, that was a trickier comparison—unless he were to take action himself.

Jingyue smiled. “Want to test that out later?”

Su Qi said, “Sister, we’re in an unknown Secret Realm. Isn’t it a bad idea for us to wear each other out first?”

Jingyue wasn’t actually too concerned. She recovered quickly, and it was quite common to run out of Spiritual Qi during training expeditions.

However, taking Jiang Zuo into consideration, Jingyue said, “Alright, then when a monster appears, let’s see who can deal with it faster. You two lovebirds can team up.”

Su Qi grinned when she heard that last part. “And what if we win?” she asked.

Jingyue asked, “What do you want?”

Su Qi thought for a moment and said, “If we win, then you have to help us extend our advanced studies, Sister.”

Jingyue said, “No problem. But if you lose, I’ll help you apply to shorten them.”

Hearing the word “shorten,” Su Qi was no longer interested. “No way, no way. Then let’s not make a bet.”

Jingyue sighed in exasperation. “Even if you don’t have confidence in yourself, you should at least have some in your husband.”
