My Wife Might Be a Saintess

Chapter 677: Don’t Look at Me, You Didn’t See Anything

  • Next Chapter

Jiang Zuo flew on. He had plenty of Spirit Stones.

However, he didn’t fly for very long before he suddenly stopped.

The coin had been in his hand the whole time, so he discovered something rather frustrating.

He hadn’t found Su Qi yet, but he had found that Dragon.

Still, finding the Dragon was a good thing. It meant finding Su Qi wouldn’t be too difficult.

With that, Jiang Zuo plunged directly into the sea.

There were islands on the sea, but the world within it was far more vast and boundless. It was impossible for it to be devoid of powerful beings.

And as it happened, that Dragon had been living in the sea for a very long time.

Moreover, it was just a short distance below him, so Jiang Zuo went straight in.

With a loud SPLASH, Jiang Zuo was in the water. At that moment, his mask came right off.

There was no point in wearing it anymore.

The Xilin Bat that had been catching up hesitated for a moment before following him down.

‘I’m starting to feel like I can’t see through this person at all,’ it thought. ‘He’s clearly so weak, so why was that tree tortured so horribly?’

‘Could this person really be a senior?’

‘But at the beginning, he couldn’t even catch up to me.’

It was beyond its comprehension. Fortunately, it hadn’t attacked him directly, or it would most likely be dead by now.

But it was only after it chased him down that it realized the man had actually entered the Divine Dragon’s territory.

‘Is this person insane?’

‘Dragons love to sleep. If he disturbs their slumber, he’ll face the wrath of a Divine Dragon.’

Of course, they were currently in the shallows, so there was nothing to see. Only by descending deeper could one see the Dragon Palace where the Divine Dragon resided.

Jiang Zuo continued his descent. The deeper he went, the greater the pressure.

‘I really have to wonder if that Dragon ever considered this,’ Jiang Zuo mused. ‘I’m a Mage. Can a Mage withstand this kind of water pressure?’

‘Well, I have the Water Elemental Sister, so this bit of pressure isn’t a big deal.’

‘And it’s even less of a problem for my own body.’

‘But an ordinary Water Mage would have trouble down here. Even a Tier Three wouldn’t be enough.’

‘So, that Dragon really didn’t think about any of this.’

But Jiang Zuo didn’t dwell on it. He wouldn’t have considered it either. ‘What’s a little water pressure?’

Soon, Jiang Zuo saw it. It was a Palace, and it looked quite impressive—large and magnificent enough.

But it was a bit shabby.

Only the roof and the main gate looked grand. The details inside were absolutely terrible.

‘A Divine Dragon is actually this poor?’

This Palace wasn’t at the deepest part of the seabed, but was merely floating in the water. This meant the Palace could move.

Jiang Zuo then arrived above the Palace and passed silently through its barrier.

The Xilin Bat behind him was utterly dumbfounded. ‘Is the Divine Dragon Palace this easy to enter?’

‘Who are they trying to fool?’

But it didn’t dare to try, so it could only wait outside.

Even if it activated its Dragon Race bloodline, it would be useless. In front of a true Dragon, it would still be easily crushed.

Jiang Zuo’s entry didn’t attract the Dragon’s attention.

What surprised Jiang Zuo, however, was that the Palace was in such a dilapidated state entirely due to the passage of time.

‘It seems that when this place was sealed, the focus was on preserving the living creatures.’

‘But this place is so large. Sealing it would require immense power. And for the Seal to be this perfect, it had to have been done by a Supreme.’

‘Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion, what was the point of doing this?’

‘After all, other places weren’t sealed like this.’

‘Take the grotto where Yongxi was, for example. The Seal there only prevented them from leaving.’

‘The Spirit Beasts inside went through generation after generation. Only a small number survived to this day, and their Cultivation was severely weakened.’

‘But here, they weren’t weakened. They were all sealed and preserved until now.’

‘Once the Seal is broken, they can recover their original Cultivation.’

‘If this place isn’t a crucial part of the grand cosmic scheme, then it must hold some special meaning for the Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion.’

Jiang Zuo didn’t know what that meaning was, but the Lord’s actions had made things very difficult. The longer he stayed here, the more dangerous it would become.

Because Jiang Zuo wasn’t sure how many creatures here were unmarked.

At the very least, those furry Tier Three Spirit Beasts hadn’t been marked.

Jiang Zuo headed toward the huge palace. The Divine Dragon should be there.

Soon, Jiang Zuo reached the edge of the palace.

Then he saw the Divine Dragon, but he was a bit taken aback.

‘Dragons are majestic and look sacred. The last Divine Dragon he’d seen was a bit ugly, but it still had a dignified aura.’

‘But what was this thing he was seeing today?’

‘A drab, slippery Loach?’

‘No, it’s even uglier than a Loach.’

‘This is a Divine Dragon?’

‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’

‘He had never seen such an ugly Divine Dragon. No, he had never seen such an ugly Dragon, period.’

But Jiang Zuo knew he wasn’t mistaken. This drab-looking creature was indeed a Dragon, and a Divine Dragon at that.

Furthermore, Jiang Zuo could see that this fellow also had a mark, but it was very faint. It had an effect, but it was extremely limited.

Jiang Zuo’s arrival didn’t startle it. It seemed to be in a half-asleep, half-awake state. Once it fully awakened, its Cultivation would recover after some time.

‘This Dragon actually has the strength of a Tier Nine. That’s quite rare.’

‘Not all Dragons can reach Tier Nine.’

‘Dragons are powerful, but they are typically at Tier Seven. Tier Seven is where their numbers are greatest. Tier Eight Dragons are much rarer.’

‘And Tier Nine is even more of a rarity.’

‘One shouldn’t assume that something is powerful just because it’s a Holy Beast, a Dragon, or a Qilin.’

‘But don’t think they’re weak, either. Tier Seven Dragons are quite common, but Tier Seven humans are not.’

‘They have a natural advantage.’

‘However, the further along one gets, the tables turn.’

‘There are no fewer Tier Nine humans than there are Tier Nine Holy Beasts and the like.’

‘Higher up, humans definitely outnumber beasts.’

‘And at the very top, even fewer beasts appear. In fact, not a single beast can reach that level through Cultivation. Only some of the very firstborn can even touch it.’

‘Take beings like the Longevity Dragon, for instance. At that Realm, humans are the most numerous.’

‘But even so, humans at that level are also exceedingly rare in relative terms.’

‘As for the Supreme Realm, that is a Realm of legends, and no being other than a human has ever appeared in it.’

‘Why?’

‘Heaven knows why.’

‘It was like that in the past, and it’s probably still like that now.’

‘Although, Little Turtle is set to break through its species’ limitations.’

‘While there’s not much hope of it reaching the Supreme Realm (it’s absolutely impossible), as long as it’s willing to learn, anything below the Supreme Realm is possible.’

‘So, a Tier Nine Divine Dragon should be among the beings with the highest Cultivation here.’

‘I wonder how many there are.’

Then Jiang Zuo tapped the Divine Dragon a few times.

Seeing it had no effect, he directly used his Immortal Spiritual Qi.

A dragon’s cry followed, sounding very similar to the one he had heard upon entering.

“ROAR! Who dares disturb my peaceful slumber? Ow, ow, ow, that hurts!”

The Dragon’s cry was naturally heard by the Xilin Bat outside. The roar nearly scared it to death, and it found the man even more incomprehensible.

‘Just who is he?’

But it couldn’t hear anything more. The Dragon’s cry just now had only carried this far because it was so loud.

For now, it could only wait outside, wanting to see what the outcome would be.

Once the Dragon woke up, Jiang Zuo withdrew his Immortal Spiritual Qi.

Then he asked, “Awake now?”

Hearing Jiang Zuo’s words, the Divine Dragon stared at him in shock. “You—how are you here?”

Jiang Zuo frowned, but before he could say anything, the Dragon immediately tried to hide. “Don’t look at me! You didn’t see me!”

The bonus chapters have been going rather miserably. Starting tomorrow, I’ll do four chapters a day and keep that up until the 7th.

If I’d known, I would have just stayed at the office and worked overtime (I want to cry).

Anyway, let’s try something else.

I’ll start adding them on the 8th. (The guaranteed daily update is three chapters; anything after that counts as a bonus.) (Please don’t say my stats are bad or ask what’s the point of asking for monthly tickets. I just want to feel like I’m participating in the event and that it’s all really worth it.)

On second thought, let’s make the deadline the 15th. I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep up since I have to work, and I don’t want to fall behind on what I owe.

You're at the latest available chapter

No further chapter has been posted yet. This does not mean the story has ended.
