My Wife Might Be a Saintess

Chapter 679: So I Came Here to Be a Matchmaker?

  • Next Chapter

Su Qi was overthinking things. While she saw Jiang Zuo at her feet, his perspective was normal.

Su Qi waved at the surface of the water. “Hubby, are you okay?”

Jiang Zuo watched Su Qi wave from the water and saw her lips move, but he couldn’t hear a thing.

Jiang Zuo looked at Divine Dragon Qian Zhong. “There’s no sound?”

Divine Dragon Qian Zhong said, “She just said, ‘Hubby, are you okay?'”

Jiang Zuo: “…”

‘How nauseating.’

Then, Jiang Zuo took out his phone and called Su Qi.

Su Qi answered quickly. “You can’t hear me?”

Jiang Zuo nodded. “Yes. And by the way, I can’t come to you just yet. The Divine Dragon says I have to help him with something first.”

Su Qi glanced around, then pouted. “So much for coming to find your wife. You ended up finding a Divine Dragon instead.”

Jiang Zuo said, “It was just a coincidence.”

Su Qi didn’t really mind. At least her husband was safe.

“Should I wait for you nearby, then?”

Jiang Zuo said, “Yes. And don’t wander off. Once I’m done here, I’ll have the Divine Dragon send me straight to you.”

Su Qi laughed. “Who’s the Cultivator here, you or me? Your wife is more capable than you think. I’m not just some little girl who clings to you every day.”

‘Su Qi was capable, yes, but definitely not as capable as him.’

‘And since she wasn’t as capable as him, Jiang Zuo couldn’t be at ease.’

‘In any case, if she was in danger, he would definitely go to her at a moment’s notice.’

With a Dragon watching, Su Qi didn’t dare say anything too out of line.

After they hung up, Su Qi was finally able to relax.

At least her husband was really okay.

With the Divine Dragon’s help, it would be effortless for him to find her later.

That meant all she had to do was find a suitable place without any worries and just wait there.

‘But where would be a suitable place?’

Su Qi flew over the sea for a while. Finally, she spotted an island—or rather, a huge island.

At a glance, she almost mistook it for a continent.

Su Qi then flew toward the island. She had the Divine Dragon’s blessing, so it was unlikely she’d run into trouble.

Of course, Su Qi wasn’t a reckless person; she knew how to identify danger.

At this point, Jiang Zuo recalled the Little Wild Cat and said to Divine Dragon Qian Zhong, “Alright, tell me. What do you need me to do?”

The Divine Dragon had returned to normal by now. Jiang Zuo had also set Duan Qiao aside. Duan Qiao had no idea what it was supposed to do.

‘Without Sweet Potato and the others around, it couldn’t relax as much.’

“This happened before the Seal,” Divine Dragon Qian Zhong said.

Then, he began to tell his story.

The gist of the story was this:

Because of his unusual appearance, Divine Dragon Qian Zhong had established Divine Dragon Island and pretended he lived there most of the time.

While many knew of his Palace, it was where the Divine Dragon slumbered, so no one would ever visit. If anyone needed to find him, they simply had to go to Divine Dragon Island.

His Seven Dragon Beads were there, so he could go over at any time.

But mature Dragons needed to produce offspring, and a being like a Divine Dragon naturally attracted the attention of many from the Dragon Race.

In his Golden Light form, while the Divine Dragon was a bit fierce and a bit ugly, he was at least majestic and awe-inspiring.

Therefore, females from the Dragon Race and even other races would often come to him.

The Divine Dragon was naturally happy about this. After all, he rarely had the chance to interact with females of other races.

And among these females, a Holy Dragon caught his attention the most.

Thus, he grew closest to that Holy Dragon.

She was a Tier Eight Peak Holy Dragon, and it was uncertain if she had a chance of breaking through to Tier Nine.

Holy Dragons belonged to the Holy Beast Dragon Race. They had an innate affinity with heaven and earth and could even cultivate the Mijie Sacred Image, so her status was considered sublime.

More sublime than most other Dragons, at least.

There are many kinds of Dragons, but only three powerful types: Holy Dragons, Divine Dragons, and Celestial Dragons.

Aside from the Holy Dragon Race, the other types of Dragons were extremely rare.

This was true for both Divine Dragons and Celestial Dragons. As for Spiritual Dragons, which evolved from Jinling Loaches, their numbers were even smaller.

So, when people spoke of Dragons, most would assume they were referring to the Holy Beast Dragon Race.

Of course, if you included the Longevity Dragons, then there were four types of powerful Dragons.

Jiang Zuo sat to one side, listening to Divine Dragon Qian Zhong’s story. ‘So, after traveling all this way, my job is to be a matchmaker?’

‘Did I have nothing better to do?’

He didn’t say anything, however. He decided to hear the whole story first.

Then, Divine Dragon Qian Zhong continued his tale.

The two Dragons got along splendidly. They were a good match in terms of status, so it was only natural for their relationship to develop further.

At least, both Dragons tacitly agreed on this.

But the Divine Dragon knew his appearance was unusual and worried that the Holy Dragon would be repulsed by him.

To find out for sure, he decided to secretly seek out the Holy Dragon.

He wanted to at least let her see him.

If there were no major issues, he would reveal his identity directly. That way, he would no longer have to use the Golden Light to maintain his majesty.

The Divine Dragon did indeed find the Holy Dragon.

However, the Holy Dragon happened to be in the middle of a battle with a powerful female expert from the Human Race.

Naturally, the Divine Dragon had to help her. However, he didn’t reveal his true power, suppressing it to around Tier Eight before joining forces with the Holy Dragon.

He was mainly worried about exposing himself at first.

After they repelled the human, the Divine Dragon wanted to try and talk to the Holy Dragon.

However, before he could even begin, he was directly attacked by her.

The blow was incredibly heavy, sending the Divine Dragon flying.

Then, the Holy Dragon said with utter disgust, “Where did this lowly creature come from? So disgusting it makes me want to puke. How dare you fight alongside me? You’re courting death.”

The Divine Dragon was stunned. ‘Lowly? Disgusting?’

Yes, this once again reminded him of when his parents had abandoned him.

It was a long, long time ago, but he had clearly been deeply despised.

So, he left. Or rather, he fled in a panic.

He went straight back to a dilapidated Palace—his very first one. He had suffered a heavy blow and needed to rest. He would rest in this dilapidated Palace.

After all, one was ugly and the other was old. They were a fitting pair.

When Divine Dragon Qian Zhong finished, Jiang Zuo asked, “Is there more?”

Divine Dragon Qian Zhong shook his head. “Basically, no. She came looking for me later, but she never mentioned that incident.”

Jiang Zuo said, “Then what’s your purpose in seeking me out?”

Divine Dragon Qian Zhong replied, “Make her accept me. I don’t dare tell her the truth.”

Jiang Zuo looked at the Divine Dragon. “You want to have her?”

The Divine Dragon nodded. “She’s truly outstanding and beautiful. I dream of marrying her.”

Jiang Zuo asked, “Don’t you feel like she looks down on you?”

The Divine Dragon shook his head. “But I just like her. I want her to accept me. The Seal is about to vanish. When it does, we’ll surely continue our relationship, and it’s highly likely we’ll get married. I can’t hide the truth for much longer.”

Jiang Zuo said, “Then just go and tell her. If she agrees, you get married. If she doesn’t, just cripple her and drag her back. With her Tier Eight Cultivation, she’s no match for even one of your hands.”

The Divine Dragon shook his head. “I can’t. I don’t want to use force on her.”

Jiang Zuo: “…”
