After the two battles of Group 1, the assessment moved to Group 2.

This time, the group consisted of three male students and one female student. There was only one student from the human race among them. The rest came from the Volkin race, the Titan race, and the Devil race. The female student was from the Volkin race.

The assessment continued with the female from the Volkin race facing the Human race. The Titan and Devil races faced each other. Their battles weren’t as entertaining as Ryker’s fight, both matches of Group 2 ended in draws.

Ten minutes was a short time, and all of them here were talented geniuses. In battle, it took a lot of time to see the difference between their power, strength, will, and even luck. A single moment could change everything, but with the time limit, many fights ended without a clear winner.

Lucien, who was watching the battles, kept assessing his fellow students. His Obsessive Gacha Eye and the system made it easier for him to gather information about them. He studied their movements, their techniques, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Every fight revealed something new.

The third group also continued. One student had a victory, and the second match of the group resulted in a draw again.

Now, more than an hour had passed since they began this assessment. The coliseum was filled with the tension of anticipation. Students who hadn’t fought yet were growing restless, their minds racing with strategies and adjustments.

Some of the other Honor students, who had yet to step into the arena, couldn’t help but anticipate their battles. They modified the strategies they had in mind, analyzing the fights they had witnessed, learning from the mistakes and successes of others.

The Fourth Group’s first battle began: Lexa Rosewood and Kante Grigg.

Both of them were called forward as the screen displayed their names and portraits.

Lexa Rosewood was an elf, elegant and striking. Her long silver hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall of moonlight, and her sharp, delicate features gave her an ethereal beauty. Her eyes were a deep, luminous green, with an innocent air that made her look as if she hadn’t come in contact with the filth of the world. Her figure was graceful yet endowed, her posture perfect. She moved like a leaf carried by the wind, light and precise.

Kante Grigg was her opposite in many ways. He was a dark-skinned man with short, jet-black hair and piercing amber eyes that seemed to glow faintly. His presence was heavy, like a shadow that had taken form. Looking at him felt like staring into darkness itself, an incarnate of the void. When they reached the arena, he stood still, his expression unreadable, his hands relaxed at his sides.

Their cultivation was restricted. If one should notice, Lucien was the one with the lowest cultivation among them.

The Honor students looked at these two, their expressions serious. They recognized the identity of one, and the other gave them chills just by standing there.

Lucien, who heard the name of the elven lady, turned his gaze to Ryker. Ryker had his eyes glued on the arena, his gaze fixed on the elven lady. His face was flushed, unable to hide such emotions.

They called those like him, those who have a crush.

If Lucien could remember, this name was part of Ryker’s Obsessions.

Lucien moved closer and asked, "Your crush?"

Lucien’s words jolted him. Ryker tore his gaze away from the arena, his face flushing like a child caught stealing.

"Mentor, don’t say it so loud," Ryker whispered, glancing around nervously to see if anyone had heard him.

Lucien found his behaviour amusing. There was nothing wrong with having a crush or falling for someone.

Lexa was beautiful, her beauty among the top, almost on par with Seraphina and Lilith, with her own unique charm.

"Why are you acting so exaggerated?" Lucien asked. "What’s the big deal?"

Ryker snorted, his voice low. "Hmph, mentor, not everyone is as lucky as you. You’ve got two goddesses chasing after you like you’re the only man in the world. Some of us have to actually work for affection."

Lucien raised an eyebrow. "That’s not my fault."

"So tell me, what’s the identity of this young lady?" Lucien asked.

He had noticed the shift in the students’ reactions. They were anticipating the result of her battle with an intensity that hadn’t been there in the other matches. The fervent looks in the guys’ eyes. The expectation. The anticipation. Something about her was different.

"Mentor, you don’t know her?" Ryker was surprised as he looked at Lucien suspiciously.

"Is she that special?" Lucien frowned, clearly baffled by Ryker’s reaction.

Since he had come to this world, he hadn’t left his clan until the marriage arrangements began. He had spent his time reading whatever books he could gather, trying to find solutions for his feeble body and his talent, which, when tested, had been deemed trash. He had never concerned himself with the outside world. So how would he know who this woman was?

When Ryker saw Lucien’s expression, he believed him. It was surprising. He hadn’t expected Lucien to be so oblivious.

"Mentor, that’s Lexa Rosewood," Ryker said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "She’s not just any elf. She’s one of the daughters of the elven queen, with unique talents that make the Elf Race respect her. Her beauty is legendary, but her combat skills are just as famous. She’s been in the spotlight since she was a child."

"So that’s it," Lucien subconsciously blurted out.

Ryker looked at him in shock. That’s it? If not for the fact that Lucien had two wives, he would have thought maybe his sexual orientation was special.

And what’s with that mid expression? Can’t he show a hint of shock?

Ryker felt as if he had been slapped. He turned away, not bothering himself with Lucien again.

Lucien saw his expression and was confused about what he had done wrong.

One couldn’t blame him. He had basic immunity against beauties. His past life was full of them, and that had made him want to run from beauties, they were dangerous and attracted too much trouble. And in this life, he was still stuck with the same fate.

He glanced at Seraphina and Lilith, who were watching the arena with calm expressions. Then he looked back at Ryker, who was still sulking.

"What?" Lucien asked.

Ryker sighed, shaking his head. "Nothing, mentor. Just... forget it."

Lucien shrugged and turned his attention back to the arena.
