"Descent of the Thunder Dragon."

Valdris released a devastating attack of dark lightning that took the form of a thunder dragon charging towards Seraphina.

It came with demonic intent that gave an odd, unsettling feeling. Its lightning mouth was open, jaws wide, ready to bite down and tear through anything in its path. The air around it crackled and hissed, thick with the smell of ozone and something darker, something ancient and hungry. The ground beneath the dragon’s path split and blackened as it passed, leaving a trail of smoldering stone.

But all Seraphina did was stretch her hands forward at the incoming dragon.

The students watching all glanced at each other, not believing what they were seeing.

This was a foolish action.

Valdris shook his head, clearly disappointed by his opponent’s overconfidence.

But Lucien was just smiling. Ryker glanced at him. Even though he knew of Seraphina’s strength, she was already restricted, so how could she tackle such an attack without any defense?

The dragon closed in, its massive jaws descending, lightning crackling wildly around its fangs. The heat from it washed over Seraphina, whipping her golden hair back, and the demonic intent pressed down on the arena like a physical weight, making the nearest students flinch and gasp.

Then Seraphina’s open palm met the dragon’s snout.

Her hand touched the lightning.

Not a barrier. Not a shield. Just her bare palm against the roaring, crackling volkoid. The impact sent a shockwave blasting outward, kicking up dust and rattling the stands. But Seraphina didn’t budge. Her feet stayed planted, her arm steady.

She circulated her Originat through her palm, and the lightning dragon stopped dead in its tracks. Its jaws couldn’t close. Its momentum just vanished, like it had slammed into an invisible wall.

The students stared, mouths hanging open. A few shot up from their seats. Someone let out a sharp, disbelieving gasp.

Valdris’s smirk vanished. His eyes went wide, his spear dipping slightly in his grip.

"How...?" he muttered under his breath.

Seraphina’s expression didn’t change. Her golden eyes were calm, almost bored.

Then she snapped her palm shut.

Her fingers clenched into a fist, and with a sharp, thunderous crack, the lightning dragon exploded into dregs of scattered lightning. Fragments of dark electricity shot off in all directions, hissing and fizzling as they dissolved into the air, leaving nothing behind but the fading smell of ozone and the stunned silence of the arena.

The scene was unbelievable.

The students sat frozen, eyes locked on Seraphina. Some blinked, as if trying to wake up from a dream. The air was still thick with the fading energy of the attack, but Seraphina stood there, unharmed, her hand now lowered back to her side.

Valdris stared at the spot where his dragon had been. His jaw tightened. His breathing grew shallow.

For a long moment, no one moved. No one spoke.

Then a low murmur rippled through the coliseum, growing into a wave of shocked whispers.

Valdris didn’t believe it. He sent another attack. Two dark circular runes appeared before his spear, and he released two shots of the Thunder Dragon.

The twin dragons shot forward, crackling and roaring, their demonic intent pressing down even harder than before. The air grew thick and heavy, charged with electricity that made the students’ skin prickle. The dragons’ jaws opened wide, lightning fangs gleaming, ready to tear through anything in their path.

All Seraphina did again was catch them with her palm and snap their bodies into dregs of scattered lightning. The dragons exploded on contact, fragments of dark electricity hissing and fizzling as they dissolved into the air. The shockwave from the blast rattled the stands, and a few students stumbled back in their seats.

Valdris’s eyes widened. His grip on his spear tightened until his knuckles went white. His breathing grew ragged, not from exhaustion, but from the cold dread creeping up his spine.

"You know, since you are from Drakonus, the Dragon Emperor Clan, your fate is decided," Seraphina said as she took a step forward.

Her voice was calm, almost casual, like she was stating a simple fact. The weight of her words hung in the air, heavy and final.

Then her figure disappeared momentarily from one’s eyesight. One moment she was there, the next she was gone, leaving only a faint afterimage that faded like smoke.

She appeared above Valdris, who was still trying to process how she had stopped his attacks.

In his thoughts, his instinct screamed danger. His body reacted, muscles tensing, arm moving to defend himself.

But he was too slow.

He was hit on the face by Seraphina’s fist. The impact was brutal and sudden, a sharp crack that echoed through the silent arena. His head snapped back, and his body was plummeted downward, slamming into the ground with a thunderous crash.

Stone cracked beneath him. Dust and debris shot up in a cloud. His spear clattered across the floor, its glow flickering weakly.

Seraphina landed softly a few feet away, her expression unchanged, her golden eyes calm as she looked down at him.

Valdris coughed, spitting out a mouthful of dust and blood. His vision blurred for a second, then sharpened. His body ached, but he forced himself to move. He pushed himself up onto his elbows, then his knees, his breathing ragged and heavy. His spear lay a few meters away, its glow dim and flickering.

He wasn’t done yet.

He scrambled to his feet, swaying slightly, and stretched his hand toward his spear. The weapon shot back into his grip, its runes flaring back to life. He planted his feet and fixed his gaze on Seraphina.

She hadn’t moved. She just stood there, watching him, waiting.

Valdris snarled. He poured everything he had into his next attack. Thunder and spear intent burst from him in a wild, violent surge. The air around him crackled with raw electricity, and a sharp, piercing aura radiated from his spear. The pressure was so intense that the students in the front row flinched back, their skin tingling from the static discharge.

He lunged forward, spear thrusting straight at her chest, the intent and lightning coiled around the tip like a raging storm.

But Seraphina wasn’t there anymore.
