Chapter 692 - 689: Heading to the Eastern Land

Chapter 692: Chapter 689: Heading to the Eastern Land

Jiang Jichen was naturally shocked, but his mental fortitude was exceptional, and he quickly calmed down.

"Then why are you all injured so badly?"

Jiang Jichen asked, confused.

"We also wanted to pass through the Domain Sect to enter the Land of Enlightenment, but the Gatekeeper stopped us. He said time was up and no one else could enter, so..."

Elder Yao said, slightly embarrassed.

"The three of you joined forces, and you still couldn’t defeat the Gatekeeper?"

Jiang Jichen was even more astonished.

’In his mind, the Gatekeeper of the Domain Sect should be a Supreme Realm existence at most.’

Yet now, even with Youu, Elder Yao, and the Asura Ancestor working together, they still couldn’t force their way in.

Elder Yao clearly knew what Jiang Jichen was thinking. He sighed and said, "It’s not nearly as simple as you think. While the Gatekeeper is also in the Supreme Realm, he... can draw upon the power of the Domain Sect. It’s like we were fighting him on his home turf. Of course we were no match."

Jiang Jichen thought for a moment and said, "The Land of Enlightenment is all about opportunity. Entering early isn’t necessarily a good thing. As for those experts who awoke from their slumber, the main reason they entered in the first wave was to recover their strength as quickly as possible."

"The true opportunities for enlightenment will likely only appear during the latter stages of this great worldly transformation. So, it’s fine if we enter a little later."

Elder Yao, Youu, and the Asura Ancestor all nodded, thinking that Jiang Jichen had a point.

"What are your plans now?"

Elder Yao asked.

Currently, the Luochen Sect is the dominant power in the Southern Continent, which at least provides a foundation for contending for worldly dominion and vying for the Great Dao.

Jiang Jichen pondered for a moment before saying, "I’m preparing to head to the Eastern Land. Elder Yao and Asura Ancestor, I’ll need you two to hold down the fort at the Luochen Sect. Once I find another altar in the Eastern Land, I can connect it to the Land of Chaos. Then, when the Domain Sect to the Land of Enlightenment appears a second time, we can enter."

"Yes. The Land of Enlightenment is connected to the Six Paths Realm, and the weakest person there is at the Supreme level. Therefore, we should aim to break through to a realm above Supreme before entering again. Only then will we have a fighting chance against the others."

Elder Yao added with a serious tone.

Jiang Jichen said, "Exactly. The world may be undergoing a great transformation, but the core principles haven’t changed. Personal strength is the only true path to success. We don’t lack resources now, so everyone must seize this opportunity and strive to improve their Cultivation. Once I’m settled in the Eastern Land and find a Teleportation Altar, I’ll bring all of you over. We will compete and vie for the Great Dao in the Eastern Land!"

So, over the following days, Jiang Jichen began to make arrangements.

He prepared to head to the Eastern Land with only Youu, traveling light.

Everyone else would remain in the Land of Chaos, entering seclusion to improve their Cultivation.

The Eastern Land was an unfamiliar territory, so Jiang Jichen decided to travel light.

Of course, there were other, more compelling reasons why he had to go.

First, he had learned from the mysterious youth of the Human-Devouring Organization that its headquarters was in the Eastern Land. The enmity between Jiang Jichen and the Longevity Sect was a feud to the death, and so there was no way he would spare the Human-Devouring Organization in the Mortal World.

Second, the Three Lives Pure Land Realm was also in the Eastern Land. He needed to find his parents, which meant a trip to the Three Lives Pure Land Realm was inevitable.

Finally, it was for the sake of the Land of Enlightenment. The Eastern Land was the origin of all Daoist Skills in the Mortal World. Before, they had passed through the Domain Sect and entered the Land of Enlightenment connected to the Six Paths Realm. But the Mortal World had its own, separate proving ground for the Great Dao: the Eastern Land.

Generally speaking, one could only step into the Six Paths Realm’s Land of Enlightenment after being tested and filtered through the Eastern Land—the proving ground for the Great Dao in the mortal plane.

To put it bluntly, they were two completely different tiers!

The Eastern Land was the proving ground for the Great Dao for the Cultivators of the current era.

The Six Paths Realm’s Land of Enlightenment was the arena for the ancient experts who had awakened from their slumber.

Jiang Jichen’s journey to the Eastern Land was also a training expedition to temper his Cultivation.

That land would undoubtedly allow his Cultivation to advance faster, making him stronger.

The farewells were predictably difficult.

Xing’Er and Qing Ling were, as expected, heartbroken and utterly dejected, unable to bear the thought of him leaving.

Qingya, in contrast, was the picture of composure, having already entered seclusion to comprehend the Bloody Queen’s legacy she had just obtained.

As for Tang Ni, Jiang Jichen quietly went to her to... discuss life and ideals.

Su Xuefei, now fully recovered, came to express her gratitude. Their interaction remained proper; they simply exchanged courteous farewells.

As night yielded to daybreak, Jiang Jichen quietly rose and stepped out of Luochen Hall.

Youu was already at the entrance, having waited for some time.

With hands clasped behind his back, he stood gazing up at the sky.

It was the moment of dawn. The first ray of light broke through the darkness, spilling across the land.

"Youu, the Eastern Land is sure to be a land of opportunity. We’re definitely going to make it big there!"

Jiang Jichen said, slinging an arm over Youu’s shoulders.

Youu shot Jiang Jichen a disdainful look, as if to say, ’You’re so crass.’
