Myriad Dragon Divine Sovereign
Chapter 518 - 528: Meridian Repair
The old man bore a striking resemblance to one of the stone statues. It seemed he was the fragmented Primordial Spirit of that very person.
Wen Qingye saw the phantom and smiled. "My Dragon Pearl just needs a little more Primordial Spirit Power to restore its origin. The five of you should be just about enough."
"You bastard!"
In that instant, four more phantoms materialized. They were identical in appearance to the stone statues, and they all glared furiously at Wen Qingye, their eyes filled with a vicious light.
"It doesn’t matter what realm you reached in life. Right now, you are all destined to be nothing more than illusions."
As soon as he finished speaking, Wen Qingye took a step forward. A vast ocean manifested behind him, its aura immense and turbulent. A golden light shone from his hand, unleashing a boundless, rolling power that bore down on the spirits.
"Just who in the world are you?"
An old man in green robes cried out in alarm.
Sensing Wen Qingye’s magnificent aura, the five spirits felt a sudden chill in their hearts and began to retreat one after another.
"Hmph." Wen Qingye snorted coldly, his palm striking out toward the nearest old man.
RUMBLE!
A giant golden hand abruptly appeared overhead. The old man felt as though he were completely suppressed by an immense pressure, rendering him immobile.
SWOOSH!
Golden light suffused the area, seeming to envelop the entire region. The old man tilted his head back, staring in stunned disbelief at the giant golden palm.
"No!"
The old man roared in terror, but in the next instant, he was crushed to dust by the giant golden palm. He then dissolved into innumerable fine threads that surged into Wen Qingye’s hand.
Wen Qingye watched as the number of red threads on the golden Dragon Pearl in his hand increased sharply. He smiled faintly. ’This old man’s cultivation must have surpassed the Life and Death Realm in his lifetime, reaching the very pinnacle of this world,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, the Dragon Pearl’s origin wouldn’t have shown such a significant increase.’
The green-robed old man stared at Wen Qingye and roared, "What is happening? What sacred being are you? Do you have any idea who we are?"
These five were all slivers of Primordial Spirit Divine Thought left behind by peerless experts of the Celestial Profound Sect. Possessing a trace of instinctual Lingzhi, their purpose was to guard these Eight Treasures.
Their Primordial Spirit Cultivation was exceptionally strong, but against Wen Qingye, it was completely useless.
"I’ve already said, it’s no use."
With a series of quick leaps, Wen Qingye rushed toward the remaining four, his Primordial Spirit working in concert with the Dragon Pearl.
Seeing Wen Qingye’s ferocious advance and recalling how he had just suppressed their companion, terror filled their faces. They turned, intending to flee.
But the golden Dragon Pearl in Wen Qingye’s hand generated an immensely powerful attractive force.
A golden vortex swirled, and with a single tug from Wen Qingye, the four spirits were all pulled in, dissolving into several streams of fine threads and absorbed directly into the Azure Dragon Pearl.
It would be nearly impossible for an ordinary Life and Death Realm expert to defeat these five. If they joined forces, their combined Primordial Spirit would be comparable to that of a master at the Peak of Life and Death Realm.
But Wen Qingye was different. When his Primordial Spirit’s pressure washed over them, any thought of resistance was nothing but a pipe dream.
In the span of just three breaths, every last one of the four fragmented Primordial Spirits was absorbed by Wen Qingye into the Azure Dragon Pearl. The red origin essence of the Dragon Pearl swelled once more, its mass of threads expanding in size.
"This is enough," Wen Qingye said with a smile, looking at the red threads on the Dragon Pearl in his hand.
The Ice Python asked joyfully, "Is this enough for your repairs?"
Wen Qingye nodded. "Yes, this is enough. The benefits of fusing with this origin essence are self-evident, I think. It’s just that the pain involved will be unbearable."
Qing Ruo’ai looked at Wen Qingye and the Ice Python, a little confused, but she didn’t know what to ask.
Wen Qingye immediately walked over to the small table. He looked at the dazzling, brilliantly glowing ore on it, then with a wave of his hand, pulled it directly into his Sumeru Mustard Seed.
’I’ll smelt this into the Mountain River Atlas once I get out. For now, the most urgent matter is to repair my meridians,’ Wen Qingye muttered to himself.
With that, he walked toward the exit of the passageway.
He was familiar with the path back, and in no time, he arrived at the location of the two Sword Stones.
This place was unaffected by the pervasive Yin Qi, making it an excellent spot for cultivation. Wen Qingye sat down cross-legged, took out the Azure Dragon’s Dragon Pearl, and prepared to refine the clearly visible trace of the Dragon Pearl’s origin essence within it.
Sinking his Heart Spirit, he began to Embrace the Origin and Unite!
Wen Qingye’s eyes closed slightly. All the Primordial Qi in his body surged into his Qi Sea, where it condensed without dispersing.
The trace of red origin essence in the Dragon Pearl he held slowly became visible, shining with a blinding, dazzling crimson light. This wisp of red energy, carrying a vast and domineering aura, surged directly into Wen Qingye’s body.
"ROAR!"
The moment it entered his body, Wen Qingye felt the Azure Dragon’s origin essence rush through him like a ball of fire, continuously scorching his meridians.
It was as if this red origin essence was tempering his meridians, a pain countless times more excruciating than when they had first been shattered.
Even Wen Qingye could not help but clench his jaw, a trickle of blood slowly seeping from the corner of his mouth.
Qing Ruo’ai watched Wen Qingye with a puzzled expression. "What is he doing? Why does he look like he’s in so much pain, Little Python?"
The Ice Python, standing nearby, quickly bowed obsequiously. "My dear lady," it replied, "he’s using a trace of the Dragon Pearl’s origin essence to repair his meridians."
"Oh, I see," Qing Ruo’ai said, nodding as if she only half-understood.
Meanwhile, a draconic shadow surged forward along with the red origin essence. The meridians, which had been invaded by the red Dragon Pearl’s origin essence, suddenly began to show signs of healing. The channels, once covered in a dense web of cracks, started to solidify.
That trace of red origin essence suppressed the Dragon’s Might, refining it and fusing it into Wen Qingye’s body. And as the red Azure Dragon origin essence passed through them, the meridians that had been shattered by the Dragon’s Might slowly began to heal.
It was, without a doubt, a miracle.
Once healed, the previously shattered meridians were even sturdier than before, now faintly imbued with a soft golden glow.
The red origin essence then continued its charge, surging onward like an enraged red dragon. An intense agony washed over Wen Qingye once more, wracking his entire body.
Each time the red origin essence passed through a section of his meridians, it would repair them. And once repaired, the meridians were not only more solid but also carried a faint golden gleam.
Time flowed on. In the blink of an eye, the red origin essence had repaired thirty percent of his body’s meridians.
By this point, Wen Qingye was drenched in sweat, his clothes soaked through. The pain was heart-wrenching, simply beyond what any ordinary person could endure.
Wen Qingye gritted his teeth and roared under his breath, "Keep going! Don’t stop!"
The red origin essence inside him continued its mighty charge, surging through his meridians. With every inch it covered, Wen Qingye’s pain intensified, but in its wake, the meridians were left fully repaired.
As the red origin essence advanced, it was gradually consumed, growing fainter and fainter.
Fifty percent!
Sixty percent!
...
Ninety percent!
One hundred percent!
When the very last trace of the red origin essence finally settled in his Qi Sea Acupoint, Wen Qingye felt a wave of clarity wash over his entire body. He couldn’t help but let out a sharp, clear cry.
At last, all of his shattered meridians were completely repaired.
The malady that had hindered his cultivation path had vanished completely.
Just as Wen Qingye was about to withdraw his energy, the extremely faint trace of red origin essence suddenly shot toward his Qi Sea Acupoint, which was brimming with Primordial Qi.
