In the Imperial City of the Celestial Martial Country, Eastern Profound Domain.

Ling Wei stood by a gate on the city wall. She wore a golden dragon crown inlaid with jade pearls, and a Double Dragon Pearl Gold Headband adorned her brow. Her bright red, narrow-sleeved robe, embroidered with a hundred golden butterflies among flowers, was tied with a Five-Colored Silk Embroidered Long Tassel Palace Ribbon.

Her face was as radiant as the mid-autumn moon, her complexion as vibrant as the flowers at spring dawn. Her cheeks were like peach petals, her eyes like autumn ripples, and a subtle glow seemed to emanate from her very skin. A thousand crystalline lights danced in her eyes, and she already carried herself with the majestic bearing of a phoenix, a beauty unmatched in the world.

Countless people stood beside her. There were the three great masters of the Celestial Martial Country—Huang Yi, Liu Ying, and Ling Xiao—as well as Ling Jiao, Wang Tianming, Nie Qinglan, Shu Jiuyi, Jie Jiachun, and Cheng Yu. Also present were numerous masters from the great families of the Celestial Martial Country, with Wen Xu, Gao Ming, and Zhang Hua naturally among them.

Huang Yi, his face pale, stood nearby and said, "Your Majesty, the Evil Cult has come in great numbers this time. They have the momentum to sweep through the Sixteen Countries surrounding us and have already annihilated the Divine Wind Country, the Tang Country, and the Gaotang Country. The other countries are in a similar situation to ours, merely struggling on their last legs. I have already sent an urgent message for aid to the Celestial Profound Sect, but it will take them several days to reach the Celestial Martial Country. The situation is extremely critical."

Liu Ying said with a frown, "Your Majesty, we should retreat."

Ling Jiao, standing beside them, nodded in agreement. "Yes, let’s go, cousin."

Behind them, the countless members of the great families showed signs of being swayed, their gazes starting to drift.

Gao Ming shook his head and sighed, "It seems the Celestial Martial Country is doomed this time."

Zhang Hua nodded. "Indeed. I’ve heard this isn’t just any Evil Cult, but one of the largest in our Eastern Profound Domain."

Nearly everyone was nodding in agreement with Liu Ying.

The Heaven-Burying Sect’s invasion was so swift that no one had time to react. The Divine Wind Country, the Gaotang Country, and the Tang Country were all annihilated. Countless people had their Essence Blood drained by the tens of thousands of Heaven-Burying Sect followers to cultivate Evil Techniques.

Instantly, panic swept across the Sixteen Countries, with everyone on edge and seeing enemies in every shadow. The Royal Families and top masters of the other nations had long since fled with their resources and treasures, abandoning their people and their lands to fates unknown.

Ling Wei’s phoenix brows arched as she glared at Liu Ying. "This is my country," she demanded. "Behind me are my people. Can you carry away this country? Can you carry away the millions of my people? If you can do that, then I will retreat!"

Feeling the surging aura from Ling Wei, Liu Ying’s expression changed, and he stumbled back four or five steps.

Ling Wei suddenly turned to the crowd behind her and shouted, "I don’t care who you are, be you the loyal officials who helped me rise or the great pillars of our country. Today, if anyone dares utter another word about retreating, I will have them executed without hesitation!"

In an instant, a boundless killing intent surged through the air. Everyone present felt a chill in their hearts. They were all struck silent with fear, not daring to utter another half-word.

Meanwhile, in the distance, a man in black robes gazed at the towering city walls before him. Behind him stood a dense, dark mass of tens of millions of people. A vicious light glinted in their eyes, their expressions were savage, and the bloodstains on many of their clothes had not yet fully dried.

They all had tattoos on their sleeves—fanatics of the Heaven-Burying Sect—and their cultivation levels were not low.

The black-robed elder in the lead couldn’t help but sneer. "You think you can stop my Heaven-Burying Sect? By the time we’ve wiped out this tiny border country, I imagine the other nations will have been mostly crushed as well."

The green-robed elder beside him nodded and said, "Big Brother is right. The Celestial Profound Sect wants to annihilate our Heaven-Burying Sect? Let’s teach them a bloody lesson first and show them what reality is."

The purple-robed elder to the side remained silent, but his eyes held a bloodthirsty, murderous glint.

Of these three, two had reached the Life and Death Realm, and while the third had not, he was at the Half-Step Life and Death Realm.

The Life and Death Realm was already considered the level of a master in the entire Eastern Profound Domain, so these three held considerable status within the Heaven-Burying Sect.

The green-robed elder’s eyes gleamed as he stared ahead, speaking impatiently, "Alright, let’s finish this quickly. I heard the Monarch of this remote little country is a woman, and a young one at that. Maybe I’ll get to enjoy her a little later, hahaha!"

The black-robed elder nodded, then looked at the purple-robed elder and said, "Second Brother, you go and lead the charge. You look like you’ve been waiting for a while."

Hearing Elder Heishan’s command, the purple-robed elder nodded. With a series of leaps, he shot directly toward the city.

The black-robed elder also slowly floated into the air, looking down disdainfully at Ling Wei and the others.

’What a beauty!’

The green-robed elder was stunned when he saw Ling Wei, and his heart couldn’t help but pound wildly—THUMP, THUMP. Such a beauty, and clad in imperial robes at that... The thrill of it all instantly shattered every last one of his inner defenses.

Immediately, the green-robed elder looked at Ling Wei and bellowed, "If you surrender, I can spare your lives!"

"Hmph, dream on!" Ling Wei snorted coldly.

The green-robed elder couldn’t help but laugh loudly. "Hahaha, the beauty has a temper. I like it! Do you have any idea who I am?"

"Just an old dog. Why should I know who you are?" Ling Wei knew the man before her was undoubtedly drenched in the blood of her Celestial Martial Country’s people. She wished she could subject him to death by a thousand cuts to quell the hatred in her heart.

A cold glint flashed in the green-robed elder’s eyes as he sneered, "You dare call me an old dog? We’ll see if you still call me that when I’m ravaging you later."

As the green-robed elder spoke, his body drifted forward. In an instant, a wild gale swept across the top of the wall. A giant, green hand emerged from the void, blotting out the sky as if it were about to rip the entire city wall asunder.

"Your Majesty, look out!"

Seeing this, Huang Yi and Liu Ying quickly moved to shield Ling Wei.

Everyone around them gathered their Primordial Qi, attempting to collectively block the whistling, giant green hand.

With a loud BANG, the two of them were sent flying by the giant hand. They crashed heavily to the ground behind them, creating two massive craters.

BOOM! BOOM!

Then, a large section of the city wall collapsed. The incomparably sturdy wall was like tofu in the green-robed elder’s hands. Everyone’s expression changed, and they all spat out a mouthful of blood.

Wen Xu muttered to himself, "So this is the power of a Life and Death Realm expert?"

Zhang Hua also looked stunned. "Too strong... Huang Yi and Liu Ying, two Yin Yang Realm Third Layer Martial Artists, plus dozens of us, and we couldn’t even block half a move."

At that moment, Cheng Yu and Ling Jiao hurried to Ling Wei’s side, steadying her as she stumbled.

Ling Jiao said anxiously, "Cousin, let’s go!"

Ling Wei’s face was as pale as snow, but she spoke with resolve, "I’m not leaving. I will live or die with the Celestial Martial Country. If you want to leave, then go. I won’t blame you."

Looking at the scene of devastation and ruin before them, a sense of desolation filled everyone’s hearts.
