The sight sent a jolt of fear through him. Wen Qingye appeared to be walking on air, his steps illusory as he advanced, his hands coming together to form a seal.

He realized the other two had been nothing but a distraction, providing cover for Wen Qingye’s real attack. The trio’s true killing move was this Seal Technique.

At this thought, a chill ran down Luu Jing’s spine.

The world around them seemed to fall into a sunless void. Darkness. Only an endless, heart-devouring darkness spread outward, consuming all.

Boundless gales raged as vast Primordial Qi surged into Wen Qingye’s palms. To the horror and trepidation of all who watched, a Seal Technique gradually took form.

"Undying Seal Technique, Seventh Form! Fallen into the Cycle of Reincarnation and Never Return!"

As Wen Qingye enunciated each word, the sound of the Seal Technique tearing through the air instantly resounded. The black seal surged tempestuously toward Luu Jing.

Feeling the surging gales around him, Luu Jing finally snapped back to his senses, hastily raising his long saber to protect his vitals.

BOOM!

The world seemed to fall silent at the moment of impact. Everyone stared at the scene in horror. Before they could recover their wits, the terrifying wave of Primordial Qi had already erupted into countless shockwaves, spreading toward the onlookers.

Countless nearby pavilions and trees were instantly obliterated, reduced to nothingness.

An unknown amount of time passed before the world-shaking shockwave slowly began to subside.

All eyes immediately shot toward the center of the impact, and everyone couldn’t help but gasp, their eyes wide with shock.

The ground had caved in, leaving a massive crater from which cracks as thick as a man’s arm snaked out into the distance.

And there stood Luu Jing, his Red Piercing Saber plunged deep into the ground. He was drenched in blood that dripped to the earth, his face deathly pale. He looked as if a mere puff of wind could topple him.

"COUGH... COUGH, COUGH!" Luu Jing doubled over, wracked by a violent coughing fit that seemed forceful enough to expel his own heart. He slowly raised his head and stared at Wen Qingye. "If I hadn’t blocked that with my Red Piercing Saber, I’d be a corpse right now."

"No, you wouldn’t be a corpse," Wen Qingye said, his eyes glinting coldly as he stared at Luu Jing. "You’d be a pile of dust, utterly annihilated."

As if recalling something delightful, Luu Jing burst into laughter. "Hahaha... *cough, cough*! What a shame. Wen Qingye, do you know? You’ve lost your chance."

"Oh?" Wen Qingye watched Luu Jing, a seed of doubt planted in his mind.

’Right now, the Dayan Dynasty’s most powerful expert, Tian Youwei, is tied down by Yue Mingzhu, and I’ve already killed their other masters. Luu Jing himself is on the verge of death. Where is he getting this confidence?’

Luu Jing looked at Wen Qingye, a cold sneer playing on his lips. "Believe it or not? This place will become your grave, Wen Qingye."

Wen Qingye shook his head and chuckled. "My grave?"

Tu Bai rested his giant saber on his shoulder and bellowed, "Luu Jing, I think you’re at death’s door and just spouting nonsense! We three brothers are standing right here. Can you even lift your saber to fight?"

Sima Feng watched Luu Jing, finding his current display odd. His mind raced, trying to understand.

The masters watching cautiously from a distance also found it strange, or simply scoffed at Luu Jing’s words. Everyone knew that the Heaven-Burying Sect was all but destroyed after the battle in the Imperial City of the Celestial Martial Country.

Great Elder Ouyang, Right Protector Zhou Kong, and the numerous masters recruited over decades were either dead or had fled. The Saintess had died mysteriously. The only one to return was Luu Jing himself. The once-infamous Evil Cult, the Heaven-Burying Sect, was gradually declining. How could they possibly have the strength to make a comeback?

"You don’t believe me?" Luu Jing ignored Tu Bai, his eyes burning as he stared at Wen Qingye. Though grievously injured and on the verge of death, he seemed to possess an unshakable inner confidence.

"I don’t believe you," Wen Qingye said, shaking his head.

"You’ll have to believe it."

Suddenly, a clear, cold voice echoed from the sky.

Everyone instinctively looked toward the source of the voice to see five figures slowly floating over. The two in the lead were elderly men. They had the benevolent faces and otherworldly bearing of sages, yet appeared otherwise unremarkable. The three people behind them, however, radiated a magnificent, soul-shaking aura.

"Guann Qingping! Yanm Yihai!"

Yue Mingzhu had sensed their arrival, and a violent tremor shot through her heart.

Yue Mingzhu’s cry of alarm was like a boulder dropped into a still pond, sending ripples of shock through the crowd. In an instant, a tumultuous uproar erupted.

"My heavens, aren’t those two Elders from Taiyi Pavilion’s Yu Generation?"

"The Yu Generation Elders have come out of seclusion? How is that possible? I remember it’s been thirteen years since any of them were last seen in the Eastern Profound Domain, and now two have appeared at once!"

"So it’s true. Taiyi Pavilion has been backing the Heaven-Burying Sect all along. Otherwise, the Celestial Profound Sect would’ve wiped them out a dozen times over."

"Wait, and those three behind Yanm Yihai and Guann Qingping... they look like masters from Taiyi Hall."

...

In contrast to the clamor of the crowd, Sima Feng’s expression had turned grim. Members of the Yu Generation were legendary masters of the older generation throughout the entire Eastern Profound Domain. Forget two of them—in their current state, they couldn’t even handle one.

The masters from Taiyi Hall were not to be underestimated, either. They were a force that historically answered directly to the Pavilion Master of Taiyi Pavilion, serving as the sharp edge of the blade that cut down any who showed disrespect.

Taiyi Hall was comprised of two groups. The first consisted of Elders from Taiyi Pavilion with above-average aptitude who had volunteered to join. The second was made up of traitors from other factions and unaffiliated masters that Taiyi Pavilion had recruited. Members of the Hall enjoyed extremely abundant resources and received the protection of Taiyi Pavilion, so a great number of masters were willing to join.

Countless masters flocked to join, but entry was far from simple. Those who were accepted were truly the best of the best.

All this was to say that anyone who came from Taiyi Hall was far from ordinary.

So for masters from Taiyi Hall and Elders of the Yu Generation to appear here at the same time... how could Sima Feng not be shaken to his core?

Among the group from Taiyi Pavilion, the elder on the left kept his eyes closed, not saying a word. This was Guann Qingping, one of the Elders of the Yu Generation, known for his taciturn nature and dislike of speaking. The one to his right, of course, was the other Yu Generation Elder from Taiyi Pavilion, Yanm Yihai.

Yanm Yihai was currently sizing up Wen Qingye, a hint of a smile and admiration in his eyes.

After a moment, Yanm Yihai gave a slight nod. "You must be Wen Qingye, the disciple from the Celestial Profound Sect who has recently made such a name for himself in the Eastern Profound Domain. I am Yanm Yihai, an Elder of Taiyi Pavilion’s Yu Generation."
