Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God
Chapter 387 - 42: Digestion
Chapter 387: Chapter 42: Digestion
Ash woke on the morning of Day 17 with the taste of dust in his mouth and the heavy quiet of the training room pressing against his skin.
He sat up slowly. The stone floor was cool under his palms. His body felt denser than it had before the jump—subtly heavier, as if every bone and muscle had been packed a little tighter while he slept. The new layers of Intent had not simply settled; they had begun rewriting the quiet architecture of his flesh. Mental energy still sat low, recovering in slow waves, but the worst of the exhaustion was gone. The blackout had done its work.
He stayed still for a moment and simply breathed.
The double resonance had worked. He was back. The new comprehension talent was already active in the background of his thoughts, making even the simple act of reviewing his own condition feel cleaner and sharper than before. Concepts that once required deliberate effort now arranged themselves the moment he turned his attention toward them. Connections formed without being forced. It was like the difference between reading a dense manual by candlelight and having the entire text projected in perfect clarity across the inside of his skull.
Ash opened his status and began checking what he had brought home.

- Body density and resilience have increased again from the new Intents settling.
The heaven-defying comprehension talent sat fully integrated. It no longer felt like something added on top of him. It felt like a natural part of how his mind worked now. Ideas arrived faster. Patterns revealed themselves the instant he looked. What used to be a wall of complexity had become a surface he could read.
Next came the Rank 10 inheritance. It rested in his mind as a complete, untouched block of knowledge: the main cultivation method, the recovery art, the attack art, and the defense art. He had not yet studied any of it in detail. It simply waited, dense and patient, like a sealed library that had been dropped into his sea of consciousness without explanation.
His existing Intents had deepened. Sword, Fire, and Space all felt clearer and more solid than they had on Day 15. The sixty-percent mastery from earlier now sat closer to seventy, the new layers from the Martial Saint having filled gaps he had not even known existed. New Intents had joined them—Gravity, Metal, Force, Lightning, and Life—each still at low initial percentages, like unopened seeds resting in dark soil. They carried the quiet promise of growth, but no more than that yet.
Fragments of higher Laws and several complete techniques sat further back, organized but not yet examined. He could feel their presence the way a man feels the weight of unopened letters in a drawer. Important. Waiting. Not urgent.
Ash let out a long breath.
"That’s a lot of fuel," he said quietly to the empty room. "Almost too much. If I try to burn it all at once I’ll just set myself on fire."
He closed the panel and organized his thoughts.
The long-term goal was simple. He did not want to cultivate five different techniques for the rest of his life. He wanted one. The Omni Combat Art already existed as a living framework that could absorb other systems. If he fed everything into it—mental cultivation, body refinement, Intents, Law fragments, techniques—then in the future he would only ever need to advance a single art. One path. One focus. No more splitting attention across competing methods that refused to speak the same language.
The order of work followed from that goal.
First, fully comprehend the Rank 10 mental inheritance. Once he understood every part of it, he would fuse it into the Omni Combat Art. After that he would also fuse his original 9-Cosmic Star Body Refinement Technique into the same art. Then he would move on to the Intents, then the remaining techniques and Law fragments. Step by step. No shortcuts. No half-measures.
Step one was clear.
A quiet eagerness rose in his chest the moment the decision solidified. It was not the frantic hunger of a starving man. It was the focused anticipation of someone who had finally been handed the exact tool he needed and could already feel its weight in his hands. He wanted to sit down and begin. He wanted to open the inheritance properly and let the new talent do what it had been designed to do.
Ash closed his eyes and opened the Rank 10 inheritance.
The name of the main method surfaced immediately: Universe Visualization Art.
He began reading.
The introduction alone made him stop and stare into the darkness behind his eyelids.
This was not a simple meditation technique. It was an attempt to turn the cultivator’s sea of consciousness into a living universe.
The principle was straightforward in description and monstrous in ambition. The cultivator began by visualizing a single planet inside the mental space. Not a vague image, not a symbolic representation, but a planet so detailed and solid that it began to behave like a real celestial body. Atmosphere, gravity, magnetic field, internal heat, weather systems—everything had to be constructed with deliberate clarity. The more real the planet became, the more the soul, mental strength, and mental force grew in response.
Once one planet stabilized, the cultivator added more. Planets became star systems. Star systems became galaxies. Galaxies multiplied until the mental space held an entire universe, complete with its own laws of motion, energy, and structure. At the highest level, the sea of consciousness stopped being a personal mental space and became a self-contained cosmos that mirrored the real universe in complexity and power.
Ash felt a slow smile pull at the corner of his mouth.
"A Rank 10 isn’t really a joke," he murmured. "The Creator of this art really looked at the universe and said, ’I’ll just build another one inside my head.’ No half measures. No modest little gardens. Full cosmic arrogance."
"You have my full respect."
The eagerness in his chest sharpened. He wanted to begin. He wanted to sink into the art immediately and let the new talent tear it open. But he forced himself to keep reading first. Understanding the shape of the entire system before diving would only make the later work cleaner.
He moved deeper into the inheritance.
The recovery art was tied directly to the visualization. By adjusting the movement of stars and the flow of energy between planets inside the mental universe, the cultivator could restore mental force at a rate far beyond normal meditation. The attack art used concentrated stellar energy and gravitational collapse projected outward as pure mental force. The defense art created layered orbital barriers and event-horizon-like shields that absorbed or redirected incoming mental attacks.
Every part of the system fed into every other part. It was complete. Elegant. Dangerous.
And buried at the core of the entire structure, woven through every principle and every cycle, sat something rarer than the techniques themselves.
A unique higher Law.
Not a fragment. Not an echo. A complete, self-contained Law that belonged to the art alone—the Law of Mental Cosmogenesis. It governed the precise boundary between visualization and reality, the way pure thought could acquire mass, gravity, and lasting structure inside a sea of consciousness. It was the reason a mental universe could eventually rival or even surpass the soul that created it. Without fully understanding that Law, the rest of the art would remain a collection of impressive but incomplete techniques.
Ash felt the weight of it settle into his awareness and the eagerness in his chest turned sharp and bright.
He did not hesitate any longer.
He sank into the work.
With his old comprehension talent, the density of the information would have been crushing. Principles overlapped. Requirements referenced future stages he could not yet see. The sheer volume of interlocking details would have forced him to stop and recover every few hours, chipping away at the art like a man trying to dig through a mountain with a spoon.
He remembered, briefly and with quiet clarity, how the Rank 4 Omni Combat Art itself had once felt—its complexity closer to a Rank 7 or 8 technique, its internal logic dense enough that even after days of effort he had never fully mapped every hidden connection. That earlier version of himself would have looked at this Rank 10 inheritance and simply stopped and given up. The unique Law alone would have been a wall he could not climb.
His old self couldn’t fully comprehend an intent, not to talk of a higher unique law.
But now thing were different.
The new heaven-defying comprehension talent unfolded the art like an open book. Complex sections resolved into clear logic. Hidden connections appeared without effort. What should have been opaque became readable. The talent did not simplify the material. It deconstructed it and simply removed the fog that normally hung between a cultivator and true understanding. A Rank 10 technique—complete with its own unique higher Law—felt as straightforward as 2 + 2 to him.
Ash split his consciousness.
One stream focused on the core visualization principles—how to construct mass, gravity, and rotation from pure mental force. Another stream dissected the recovery methods, tracing how stellar motion converted into usable mental energy. A third stream broke down the attack sequences. A fourth examined the defensive structures. Additional streams traced the source theories behind the art: why a mental universe could grow stronger than the soul that created it, how the boundary between visualization and reality was meant to thin over time, what risks came with building something so large inside one’s own mind.
And at the center of every stream, heavier and more demanding than all the rest, sat the unique Law of Mental Cosmogenesis.
That Law took the majority of his comprehension time.
It was not content to be understood in pieces. It demanded to be held whole. Every principle of planetary formation, every recovery cycle, every attack projection, every defensive structure was merely an expression of that single Law. Until he fully grasped the Law itself, the rest of the art would remain incomplete. So he gave it stream after stream, layer after layer, until the unique Law unfolded completely inside his mind and took up permanent residence there.
Around his physical body, the training room began to change.
Faint points of light appeared in the air, no larger than dust motes at first. They drifted in slow circles around his seated form, as though responding to some invisible gravity. As the hours passed the lights grew brighter and more numerous. Some expanded into tiny glowing spheres that resembled distant planets. Others stretched into thin luminous rings. Soft nebula-colored clouds of blue, purple, and gold formed and dissolved in the space above his head. Silver-blue threads of pure mental force became visible, weaving between the illusory celestial bodies like rivers of light.
