Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Kyrian turned to the next page, beginning to study the technique itself.

The Wings of Freedom were created through the cultivator’s own Qi. The first step was to direct a large amount of Qi toward the back. The second was to divide this Qi into two main streams. Then these streams had to be shaped simultaneously. It was not enough to create two masses of Qi; it was necessary to form structures resembling wings.

Every detail had to be controlled, the density, the shape, the distribution, the circulation, and the flow of Qi through the wings. Everything had to remain perfectly balanced. The most important thing, however, was control. The cultivator could not simply release the Qi and expect the wings to work. They needed to control the Qi outside their body.

Kyrian frowned slightly.

’So that’s how it is.’

It was similar to sending Qi into a spiritual weapon. The difference was that, instead of letting the Qi travel through a weapon, he would need to control an enormous amount of energy directly behind his body. And there was another detail, the amount of Qi required was extremely large.

For an ordinary cultivator, maintaining the Wings of Freedom for a long time could be extremely difficult. The greater the speed, the greater the consumption. The longer they remained in the air, the greater the expenditure.

For this reason, the technique mentioned that the user’s cultivation path would also influence the result. Wind Qi was especially suitable; the wings formed by a cultivator with Wind Qi could reduce air resistance and take advantage of natural currents. The creator himself had cultivated Wind Qi, and because of this, his wings were considered extremely efficient.

But the technique made one thing clear: any Qi could be used. Fire, water, ice, earth, lightning, everything depended on the cultivator’s comprehension and control.

Kyrian continued reading. Once. Twice. Then he went back a few pages, reading one section again, then another. On the third reading, he no longer needed to look at some parts, his brain had already memorized the structure. After finishing the entire technique for the second time, Kyrian closed the book.

He remained silent. If someone asked him to recite the technique at that moment, he could do so with ease. Such was his memory. He could even spell out every word of the technique backward. But memorizing was not understanding.

Kyrian placed the book beside him and closed his eyes, beginning to think.

’External Qi control.’

His Qi began circulating within his body, leaving his three dantians and passing through his meridians. The three dantians were extremely stable. His first and second dantians stored a considerable amount of energy, and the third was now also at the first stage of the Qi Release Realm.

Kyrian slowly opened his eyes.

’For someone else, the amount of Qi required could be a problem.’ He smiled.

’For me...’

With three dantians, it shouldn’t be that difficult.

But there was still another issue, control. Kyrian did not merely need to release Qi; he needed to shape it, making it obey his will even after leaving his body. It was an interesting challenge.

He raised his hand, and a small amount of Qi appeared above his palm. Kyrian moved his fingers, and the energy twisted. Then it split, and he controlled the two small streams simultaneously, one to the left, the other to the right. Then he made them return. His control was extremely precise.

’As expected.’

Kyrian had no problems manipulating Qi. But that was only a small amount. The wings would require hundreds of times more, perhaps thousands.

He closed his eyes again, beginning to imagine the wings. Two enormous structures behind his back, perfectly symmetrical.

The Qi had to flow through them like blood, every movement controlled, every change in direction requiring an alteration in the flow. It was not simply about creating wings; it was about learning to control a second set of limbs, and on top of that, limbs made of Qi.

Kyrian remained motionless. Ten minutes. Twenty. Thirty. The wind continued blowing gently through the courtyard, the leaves of the tree above his head swaying. Kyrian, however, remained completely focused.

Then his eyes opened, a sharp light shining within them.

’That’s enough.’

He had understood it, not completely, he would still need practice, but he had already grasped the fundamental principle of the technique. His control over external Qi was sufficient. His amount of Qi was also much greater than that of an ordinary cultivator of the same stage. And his three dantian made that technique especially suitable for him.

Kyrian stood up, put the book away for a moment, then walked to the center of the courtyard. He stood still, the night wind touching his clothes. Kyrian took a deep breath.

’Let’s see if it works.’

He closed his eyes. His Qi began to move. First, a large amount of Qi flowed out from his two ocular dantians, then came the third. The three streams began to merge, and the air around Kyrian changed. His hair began to move, his clothes swaying violently.

An enormous amount of Qi gathered behind his back. Kyrian felt the energy. It was unstable, much more so than inside his body. He showed no concern, simply concentrating his mind.

’Control.’

The Qi began to divide. Left. Right. Two streams, two enormous masses of energy, began to take shape behind him. Kyrian maintained his calm expression, but his eyes shone with anticipation.

The masses of Qi began to stretch, the structure beginning to take shape. A feather of energy appeared, then another, and another. Little by little... two enormous wings began to emerge behind Kyrian’s back.

He felt a strange sensation, as if a new pair of limbs had just been born. Kyrian opened his eyes. The wings were still incomplete, but they were there. He looked behind him, and a smile slowly appeared on his face.

’It worked.’

The Wings of Freedom had been formed. Now there was only one thing left, to find out whether they could actually make him fly.
