Mythical Three Kingdoms
Chapter 2323 - 2062: I Was Just Joking Earlier!
If this succeeds, then besides the Central Plains, the Hun Empire would essentially have control over the entire Asia. Back when Chanyu Lao Shang shouted this, had it not been for resistance from the Hun nobility, the Hun Empire wouldn’t have perished later.
Naturally, such a terrifying country left a deep impression on Rome. Furthermore, decades or years ago, the Huns had clashed with Rome’s Military Spirit Legion as mercenaries, forcing even the Romans to acknowledge the Huns as a formidable race.
Of course, when Kushan mentioned the Huns, Rome naturally thought of the Han Dynasty. The Huns, such an arrogant nation, were crippled entirely by the Han Dynasty. They had the Military Spirit Legion, the Dual Talent Legion, and yet they had to be cautious even in showing themselves.
"The Huns were blown away by the Han Dynasty. Back then, the Huns also had two Military Spirit Legions and a special legion whose combat power was completely equivalent to the Military Spirit Legion, along with the Will of the Empire. That was their peak, and then they were blown away," Dilip remarked with a cold laugh.
"Whether it’s a sneak attack, a frontal assault, or anything else, the Huns were entirely blown away by the Han Dynasty. I’m telling you now, the Han Dynasty has six Military Spirit Legions—do you believe me?" Dilip pointed at Papinian, laughing coldly as he questioned him, and Papinian found himself at a loss for words.
"Believe it or not, I’m merely speaking of the Han Dynasty’s strength. What I’m talking about now is the Han Dynasty transfusing energy to Parthia behind the scenes. Though for the Han Dynasty, it’s just a matter of a single artery, but their arteries are incredibly robust, and a single artery transfusing to Parthia would have an absolutely terrifying effect. I believe you stand no chance of winning," Dilip mocked with derision and a cold laugh.
In short, Dilip was just boasting, for Rome certainly wouldn’t verify whether this was true. Anyway, if the Han Dynasty and Parthian coalition army won, Rome would definitely still invite the Kushan diplomat for further talks and because of their prior boasting, the initiative would certainly be in Kushan’s hands.
As for the possibility of the Han Dynasty and Parthia coalition losing, that’s nothing but a joke.
Though Kushan couldn’t clearly estimate how strong the Han Dynasty was, Dilip, coming from the conservative faction, deemed the Han Dynasty as the undisputed overlord among empires, the number one Empire.
As for Parthia, they had been beaten by Rome for a hundred or two hundred years; even though recently they were struggling a bit, they were still of the empire’s league, not completely destroyed, and surely retained some foundational strength.
In this scenario, if the Han Dynasty casually transfused a bit to assist Parthia in integrating, and attacked Rome which hadn’t yet reacted, if they could lose, then Kushan basically didn’t deserve to ally with Rome and should instead aim to cling to the Han Dynasty, forming a three-plus-one coalition to fight Rome.
Thus, Dilip came right out boasting aggressively, not knowing how many Military Spirit Legions there actually were, but that hardly mattered. First, boast about having six; whether the Han Dynasty truly has six or not, who knows? But for now, boast away. Rome thinks it’s arrogant? Let Rome witness an even more arrogant Han Dynasty.
In sum, if one is to boast, do it thoroughly; start with six Military Spirit Legions, believe it or not, but Kushan certainly believes it.
At this time, the Roman Parliament, having not yet received any information from the frontline, naturally didn’t believe Kushan’s bragging—just because you say six, it’s six? This master fears no empty boasting.
The Romans secretly cursed Kushan for boasting without regard, but Kushan coldly laughed internally, certain the Han Dynasty didn’t have six Military Spirit Legions but were equally certain that it was no issue to blow Rome’s brains out.
A single Han Dynasty mounting such a distant expedition might seem arduous, but with Parthia by its side, cooperating mutually, if Rome couldn’t be taught a lesson, then Kushan would return to join the Han Dynasty, having the three forces together teach Rome a lesson.
Naturally, the conversation between the Kushan diplomats and the Romans ended unpleasantly, yet within ten days, Ganasis employed an Inner Qi Manifestation to send urgent intelligence back to the Roman Parliament, which then invited the Kushan group back for discussions.
"Seems like you’ve been defeated again, right?" Dilip mocked with a sneer and derision, looking at the Roman Parliament elders, thinking he knew this rhythm all too well.
Upon hearing this, the elders were all embarrassed, Papinian taking a deep breath as he stepped forward and declared, "Lord Dilip, as you predicted, with the Han Dynasty providing energy transfusion from behind to Parthia, the battle prowess exhibited is not something we can easily overcome now."
Hearing this, Dilip restrained his arrogance and conceit, stating, "It seems all of you at Rome now understand the true strength of the Han Dynasty. There were communication errors due to discrepancies in intelligence on both sides previously, leading to rude exchanges for which I ask you to forgive."
Initially expecting cold sarcasm from the Kushan diplomat, Dilip instead refrained from his previously venomous remarks, shifting to serious negotiations.
"Yes, the strength of the Han Dynasty far exceeded our expectations. Although they have not exhausted their efforts against us, the might they’ve displayed has indeed shaken us," Papinian spoke with a hint of bitterness, astonished by Ganasis’ secret report.
Perhaps it shouldn’t be described as astonishing; it’s more that Kushan’s "real talk" is so incredible it incites disbelief, yet reality is always unreasonable in this way.
"What kind of military force is this?" Dilip solemnly asked, though inwardly he laughed wildly, knowing all too well the Han Dynasty was undoubtedly impressive.
"Three Military Spirit Legions, two Dual Talent Legions, and a Celestial God," Papinian stated with trembling cheeks to Dilip.
Although the elders of the Roman Parliament had received this information beforehand, when Papinian spoke of this fact, everyone still felt a tightening in their chest.
"What did you say!" Dilip shouted in disbelief. He genuinely wanted to tell the Romans that he was just boasting earlier, and that the Han Dynasty definitely did not have six Military Spirit Legions.
"We need all the information on the Han Empire." Papinian was not displeased by Dilip’s loss of composure. At the time they all saw this information, everyone was similarly flustered, so the Kushan Diplomat’s behavior was normal.
"No problem, but I’d like to know, what does ’god’ mean?" Dilip tried his best to contain his shocked expression and then difficultly shifted the topic; the Han Dynasty was still extraordinarily powerful.
Along with the report came Ludwig, who had been beaten half to death by Lyu Bu. After extracting the image of Lyu Bu that Ludwig encountered, all the experts in Rome City fell silent.
There is only one word to describe Lyu Bu, and that is ’god’.
Papinian quickly had someone notify the Guardians of the Empire located behind the parliament; Roman Inner Qi Manifestation experts resided next to the parliament as a sign of honor.
Soon, the former captain of the Roman Imperial Guard Corps, Perennius, appeared before everyone and then released the entire situation that Ludwig experienced with Lyu Bu, starting from the moment the sky dome broke to when Ludwig was thrown away by Lyu Bu like a ball.
"Ludwig is a Demigod Rank expert, but before this figure known as Marquis Wenn, he is completely outmatched." Perennius said, tugging at his mouth. He had watched this footage more than fifty times, and in reality, if he were in Ludwig’s shoes, the outcome would be the same.
"Is this truly human?" Dilip’s eyes were as wide as eggs.
"Please refer to him as a god, young man!" Perennius said displeasedly.
"Alright, he indeed deserves to be called a god. How did such a monster appear in the Han Empire?" Dilip exclaimed helplessly, Lyu Bu’s appearance in Western Asia was truly terrifying.
"You should be grateful this is only his avatar and not his true self, or it would be even more horrifying." Perennius glanced at Dilip before turning to leave.
"This is the reinforcement sent to Parthia by the Han Dynasty, not in great numbers but frighteningly high in quality, combined with Parthia’s massive Elite Troops. Though I hate to admit it, it’s troublesome for us to deal with Parthia right now." Papinian said solemnly.
At this moment, Dilip’s heart was in turmoil. He wanted to say that the claim of the Han Dynasty having at least six Military Spirit Legions was just an exaggeration, but now you’re telling me they brought three Military Spirit Legions plus a Celestial God? How am I supposed to provide you with information? I thought you were mistaken, but even the Celestial God appeared, and the Military Spirit Legion seems accurate.
Alright, at this point, Dilip also conceded that Lyu Bu, who single-handedly humiliated Ludwig, was completely beyond the realm of ordinary humans, and with three Military Spirit Legions, the Han Dynasty was still as deranged as before.
"What do you think?" Dilip asked, restraining the collapse within him while looking at Papinian. A support battle brings out power of this level; what exactly does the Han Dynasty want?
"This power is formidable, but Rome is not incapable of dealing with it." Papinian said calmly.
In fact, when Papinian and others from the Roman Parliament received the urgent secret report from Ganasis at the front lines, it was quite shocking. However, Roman combat power is not just for show. Three Military Spirit Legions, combined with Parthia’s tens of thousands of Elite Troops, is indeed intimidating, but not enough to deter Rome.
The First Italy Legion, the Second Trajan Legion, the Council Guard, the Imperial Guard Officer Legion, each is in no way inferior to the Military Spirit Legions. Therefore, facing the Han Dynasty’s three Military Spirit Legions, Rome felt no fear but only sensed that the Han Dynasty was a bit insane.
"Then, why have you invited me here?" Dilip, after all, was an excellent diplomat, so after the shock, he quickly adjusted his mindset and calmly asked.
"Because Parthia has formed an alliance with the Han Dynasty." Papinian said to Dilip, without elaborating further.
"Coincidentally, we Kushan also are intending this." Dilip immediately grasped Rome’s meaning.
No matter how poised Rome appeared on the surface, the Han Dynasty’s colossal support for Parthia was enough to make the Romans feel immense pressure. One might even say, the Han Dynasty’s thought processes were already too peculiar to comprehend.
