...

At this very moment, the First Master found herself plagued by deep frustration. Initially, she had viewed her resurrection as a miraculous blessing. But now, she realized she had been pulled back into a confusing turmoil—a situation so tangled and dangerous that no ordinary person could possibly navigate it.

If the rest of the world was aware of the truth behind this situation, perhaps she wouldn’t feel so incredibly burdened.

But instead, she was trapped in the center of it all. She couldn’t escape.

She wanted to see her son and her husband. Shin wanted to play out his grand, twisted plan.

But where did that leave her? Was anyone actually considering what she wanted?

’Who do they think I am??’ Mavis fumed internally. ’How dare they treat me like this??’

’And why does the Third Master care so much about that ridiculous Kingdom name? Does he really think we can just casually pick a fight with Zeref??’

’And this Shin... I swear he is looking at me in a very unsettling way.’

Mavis gritted her teeth. She had hidden her true feelings for so long, and right now, she was at her absolute breaking point. But she was also painfully aware of the reality: she was the weakest person in this room by a massive margin.

Even if she was boiling with anger, she had no choice but to swallow her pride and endure it.

"Alright," Shin announced suddenly, clapping his hands together. "They have been waiting for us long enough. Let’s head upstairs and see how the guild is doing."

"Besides," Shin added, a teasing tone returning to his manner, "I really want to go mess around with Natsu and the others. It has been years since I really let loose and had some fun."

But just as he said that, a twisted, sinister smirk crawled across Shin’s face. He turned back to Mavis, his voice soaked with malice.

"You know what, First Master? I just changed my mind again. Actually, I don’t want you and Zeref to have a happy ending at all." Shin drawled, his eyes tightening. "Right now, I think I just want to kill Zeref. And Acnologia. Playing war games and conquering countries just sounds incredibly boring now."

"So, everything I promised you five minutes ago? Consider it void."

Mavis stared at him, utterly blindsided by the sudden, terrifying shift. She couldn’t comprehend how a person could be this erratic.

Why was he acting completely different from how he was just moments ago?? What in the world was happening?

Shin took a slow step toward her. "Honestly, I was planning on having a nice, major battle with Zeref. But you kept hesitating and doubting everything."

"So now, I think the only way to make you behave is to drop your husband’s corpse right at your feet. Maybe then you will learn your place. What do you think?"

Faced with this sudden, monstrous personality shift, Mavis was completely lost. She took a step back, her voice shivering with a touch of fear and distress.

"What... what are you trying to do??" she cried. "Didn’t we just agree to a plan?? How can you just change your mind like this?? Was everything you said before just a lie to torment me??"

"How am I supposed to trust a single word you say?? I cannot believe this is happening!"

Mavis was completely out of options. In the blink of an eye, the man who was supposed to be their savior had declared himself an enemy of Fairy Tail.

Actually, it felt like he had actively decided to make Fairy Tail his enemy on purpose. And that was exactly what Shin wanted. He wanted the guild—the protagonists of this world—to turn against him. That was where the real entertainment lay.

Shin looked down at Mavis, his sinister smirk widening.

"Now then, how about I show you something really fun." Shin moved in closer, his voice sinking to a hushed whisper. "You are such a beautiful girl. Why would you ever lower yourself to be with someone like Zeref? You would be much better off belonging to me."

Deep down, a small part of Shin’s consciousness was completely bewildered by his own actions. What was happening to him? Why was he acting like a deranged villain? He had never behaved like this before.

While the situation was objectively absurd, Shin was the one actively driving it off a cliff.

This girl in front of him was technically an ancient spirit, and she was already married to Zeref. Hitting on her was completely out of line.

But the sheer, intoxicating pleasure of forcing an immortal entity into absolute submission was overwhelming his rational thoughts.

"Since things have escalated," Shin said smoothly, "I will give you two choices."

Makarov, who had been watching the exchange in increasing horror, finally stepped in. He could clearly see that Shin had completely lost his mind.

"Shin, what has gotten into you??" Makarov yelled, stepping between them. "That is the First Master! How can you even think of treating her like this??"

"I absolutely cannot accept this! You claimed you were a member of Fairy Tail! How dare you—"

At that exact moment, something inside Shin snapped. He experienced an intense, burning wave of humiliation.

At that moment of arrogance, Shin realized exactly what he wanted. He wanted unquestioned authority.

And the first step to achieving that was eliminating the old man standing in his way.

Mavis froze in terror. She hadn’t expected things to escalate to lethal violence. She had no idea what to say.

Shin turned his cold, indifferent gaze toward the Third Master.

He let out a low, dark chuckle.

"Alright then," Shin said, his voice falling to a freezing register. "Let’s play a new game. I am invincible in this world."

"Why should I bother playing house with any of you?" Shin’s right eye spun violently.

"Amaterasu."

Instantly, Makarov let out a blood-curdling scream. Unquenchable, jet-black flames ignited across the old man’s body, burning him alive.

"I warned you not to disobey me, Third Master," Shin said coldly, watching the man burn. He didn’t know why, but the idea of living a peaceful, friendly life with these people suddenly felt unbearably tedious.

This path—this path of absolute cruelty—was thrilling. It seemed intoxicating.

Yet, beneath the flood of adrenaline, he experienced a strange, persistent emptiness.

Yes. He was missing a woman.

He already had Alice and Lucy, but neither of them fit his particular preferences.

But this First Master... she was incredibly cute. And more importantly, she belonged to someone else.

Shin didn’t know when he had developed such a twisted fetish, but it was currently driving his every action.

Mavis fell to her knees, completely paralyzed by the sudden, horrific execution.

"Third Master! Third Master!" she screamed, tears running down her face.

She turned to Shin. "What is wrong with you?? Stop this! Shin, what are you trying to do??"
