Chapter 259 : Conditions For Opening Rinnegan

Kurama nodded as well. "Yeah, if that’s true—wait, are you saying you want the Akatsuki to release the Ten Tails?"

Seeing Kurama staring at him, Riku smiled. "No, just in case. If the Ten Tails really is released, no one in the shinobi world would be able to stop it."

Kurama frowned. "That’s true. When the Ten Tails was sealed, even Hamura Ōtsutsuki nearly failed. If it were to be resurrected, no one in the shinobi world could handle it."

After thinking for a moment, Kurama looked at Riku again. "But I’ve always felt like you might be the exception. Your strength is the closest to the Sage of Six Paths. The only thing you’re missing is Yin Release. Your Yang Release is already at its peak—your Wood Style wouldn’t be that refined otherwise. And you can even use True Several Thousand Hands."

"Your Yang Release is definitely no weaker than Ashura’s. But as for your Yin Release... I really don’t know."

Yin Release mastery often manifests through dojutsu, yet Riku didn’t seem to possess any. Kurama wasn’t sure whether he had mastered it or not.

After all, Kurama didn’t know what Riku’s true limits were.

"I think... if anyone in this world can stop the Ten Tails, it has to be you."

Riku shook his head. "It might not just be me. Maybe Naruto can do it too—if he fully masters your power."

Once he finished speaking, Kurama scoffed. "You’re really overestimating him. Even if he completely masters my chakra, that would only put him at Kage-level. That’s nowhere near the Six Paths level. To reach that, one has to master all seven chakra natures."

"At the Six Paths level, the bare minimum is wielding the power of a Kekkei Mōra—the Truth-Seeking Balls."

Riku looked at Kurama and said calmly, "That’s basic. I can already do that."

Kurama froze, his eyes widening in disbelief.

With a small motion, nine black spheres appeared floating behind Riku.

At the same time, a sage’s staff materialized in his hand.

Then, just as casually, he dispersed them all.

That single movement left Kurama completely stunned. "Y-You... how did you do that? That’s the power of the Six Paths! That’s what the Sage of Six Paths only achieved after becoming the Ten Tails’ Jinchūriki. That’s Yin-Yang Release! You actually mastered it—?!"

Riku smiled. "It’s not that surprising. But you should’ve noticed—my control over Yin-Yang Release isn’t perfect yet. That’s why I still can’t access the true Six Paths Sage Mode."

Kurama was dumbfounded. Riku had already stepped into the realm of the Six Paths—he just needed refinement. It was only a matter of time before he perfected it.

In truth, entering the Six Paths mode doesn’t require the Rinnegan. Naruto himself had no Rinnegan, yet he accessed the Six Paths mode.

But what Riku had just demonstrated—Truth-Seeking Balls and the sage’s staff—wasn’t merely the mode; it was full manifestation of the Six Paths power.

Truth-Seeking Balls can be formed when a shinobi masters the transformation of chakra natures: Yin, Yang, the Five Basic Elements, and the chakra of all nine tailed beasts. Once those conditions are met, one can unconsciously enter the Six Paths mode—even without realizing it.

But in all the shinobi world’s history, from the time of the Sage of Six Paths to now, no one has done that—not even Ashura. The Truth-Seeking Balls Ashura possessed were granted to him by his father, used to shield him from Indra’s attacks.

So Riku was the only person to have achieved Six Paths mode purely by his own power.

But that wasn’t enough for Riku. Just entering the Six Paths mode wasn’t his goal.

For him, entering the mode was easy—but to reach the level of the Sage of Six Paths, or even surpass Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, he needed complete mastery over Yin Release.

His Yang Release had already reached its peak.

Once he pushed Yin-Yang Release to the limit, Riku wouldn’t just match the Sage of Six Paths—he could surpass him. Perhaps even surpass Kaguya herself.

Yet, today was the first time Riku had shown his Six Paths mode to anyone. Not even Tsunade had seen it.

No wonder Kurama was shaken.

Riku—someone with no ties to the Sage of Six Paths—could casually enter Six Paths mode. Kurama had never imagined such a thing.

After a long silence, Kurama looked at Riku with profound seriousness. "Riku, it seems I’ve underestimated you. Maybe you really can stop the Ten Tails. Still, I hope that thing never returns."

"You haven’t perfected your Yin Release, but for someone like you, it’s just a matter of time. And to think... without the chakra of the nine tailed beasts, you’ve still managed to wield Truth-Seeking Balls. I didn’t see that coming. But considering your chakra reserves are close to the Ten Tails itself... maybe you are a Ten Tails in human form."

"No wonder you can use them."

"To think someone besides the Sage of Six Paths has mastered Six Paths mode..."

"But from what you’re saying, it sounds like you believe the Akatsuki will actually summon the Ten Tails. With your power, you could easily wipe them out."

"Even if some of them have Rinnegan, they wouldn’t be able to stand against you. A pure Rinnegan is nothing compared to someone in Six Paths mode."

Kurama was wrong, though. Even without entering Six Paths mode, Riku wouldn’t consider Nagato a threat. His strength was already above the level of the Oni Clan shinobi.

One of those shinobi had once sacrificed himself to the Shinigami, gaining power that surpassed Kage-level, and had fought Riku’s chakra clone—one infused with senjutsu—for an extended time.

Even Riku’s clone could summon the Thunder Prison.

The Thunder Prison’s power was far beyond that of a full-body Susanoo. While not equal to the Sage of Six Paths’ Susanoo, it was still stronger than the one Uchiha Madara wielded with his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

The Sage of Six Paths’ Susanoo was the same size as the Ten Tails—about a kilometer tall.

Madara’s Susanoo, in comparison, was slightly larger than Kurama—about 100 meters.

But Riku’s Thunder Prison was over 200 meters tall and vastly more destructive than a typical full-body Susanoo.

Nagato didn’t even come close to that level.

So Riku never took him seriously. He was more curious about the power of beings like Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.

That was the only reason he didn’t wipe out the Akatsuki immediately.

With his power, Riku was far more interested in those stronger than him.

What were the limits of someone like Kaguya? What was the true power of the Ten Tails? What of the rest of the Ōtsutsuki clan—those stronger than Kaguya?

Looking at Kurama, Riku smiled. "Why would I destroy all the Akatsuki members? I’m more curious to see how far they can go. There’s someone lurking in the shadows with the Rinnegan. But that’s not just any Rinnegan—it’s the Rinne Sharingan. You should know how terrifying that is."

"I’m more interested in finding out who that person really is. After all, opening the Rinnegan isn’t that simple."
