Chapter 73: Hinata’s Care

A few minutes earlier;

Hinata was rushing towards the Hokage’s office, jumping from one house to another, when she noticed three people coming out of the office and running towards the Forest of Death.

Since these three people were Jiraiya, Shikaku, and Kakashi, Hinata couldn’t help but feel confused.

’Should I go back to the clan and tell Father about this?’

Just as she thought about that, her father’s stern face appeared in her mind, and she immediately shook her head.

’Naruto-kun!’

She felt wrong. She had just been confessed to by the love of her life but passed out before they even got to spend time together.

When she woke up, she was being kidnapped by some ANBU members. She was saved, but it turned out to be Naruto’s clone.

She was thankful that it was just his clone. After all, she knew how poisonous parasitic insects could be.

Her classmate was the parasitic insect user.

Just when she was about to remind Jiraiya and others about the attack on her, they were already leaving.

Should she chase them? But what if she made more trouble for them?

After all, she was just a weak Genin.

This decision was quite hard to make. No matter what, she was just a Genin.

"Hinata-chan!"

Then, she heard a voice from behind. The voice that she was desperately craving for.

When she heard that voice, she forgot about everything else and turned around. She saw Naruto, and her eyes stung.

They turned slightly red as tears fell.

"Naruto-kun!"

She jumped into his embrace and tightly hugged him.

"It’s okay. It’s okay. I am here."

Naruto patted her on the back of her head, and she slowly calmed down.

After calming herself, Hinata softly asked.

"Naruto-kun, are you a shadow clone?"

Naruto raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"How did you know?"

A shadow clone was perfect bait.

No matter how good a sensor someone was, unless they knew the opponent’s total Chakra Reserves beforehand, it would be impossible to tell if it was a shadow clone or not.

For Hyuga, it would require them to open their Byakugan. But Hinata didn’t. So, Naruto couldn’t help but feel curious.

"It’s just a feeling. I had that feeling when I saw Lord Jiraiya, Lord Shikaku, and Kakashi Sensei rushing towards the Forest of Death."

Hinata replied in a soft voice and left his embrace but didn’t let go of his hand.

Even if it was just a clone, it was Naruto’s clone.

Naruto smiled and said.

"Your feeling is right, Hinata. This is just a clone. Real Naruto is there, fighting someone who ordered those ninjas to capture you."

Hearing his words, Hinata nodded but lowered her head.

Seeing her mood, Naruto frowned and asked.

"Is something wrong, Hinata?"

"Naruto-kun, do you think I am too weak?"

Hinata asked.

"Of course not!"

Naruto replied instantly. He shook his head.

"You are not weak, Hinata. I already told you. You are just gentle."

Hinata looked at him with grievance and said.

"Then, why did you risk putting yourself in poisonous bugs when you know you have put Kyubi’s Chakra in my body?"

"Ahh!"

Naruto paused. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Because he forgot. He genuinely forgot that he had Kyubi’s Chakra inside Hinata’s body in that moment.

He didn’t know what to say now. He didn’t want to call her weak because that would only make her more depressed.

But he also couldn’t say he forgot about this since he had just confessed. He didn’t want to be labelled forgetful so early in his life.

He could say that it might not be enough or that he panicked, but that would only prove Hinata even more.

She was weak.

Hinata knew she was very weak. Compared to her sister and cousin, she was nothing but weak and cowardly.

No matter how much she tried, she could only face the situation if Naruto was in danger.

Deep down, she knew this, but even now, she didn’t think she could actually do that.

After all, Naruto had spent his whole life alone. If she had that kind of courage to help Naruto, she would’ve done it much earlier.

This was a courage she awakened after the first part of Naruto. That’s why she could bravely face Pain despite knowing the difference in their strength.

"Idiot!"

A curse rang in his mind.

It was Kurama speaking from his main body.

’Who are you calling an idiot, idiot Kurama?’

Naruto grumbled.

"I really don’t understand where you get the brainpower when you need it the most. It’s a good thing I didn’t tell you about Karma before."

"Otherwise you wouldn’t even have thought of that method to increase your strength."

Kurama answered.

Naruto wilted like an eggplant and asked.

’Can you please help me, Kurama? I really don’t know what I should say to her.’

"Just tell her the truth, you idiot. Her body has absorbed Hamura’s Chakra. It has started affecting her eyes."

"Because of that, my Chakra had been absorbed into her eyes. She hadn’t even realized it yet."

Hearing Kurama’s explanation, Naruto’s eyes lit up as he said.

"That’s not the case, Hinata. You don’t have Kyubi Chakra right now, and that guy was a Jonin."

Hinata looked at him, confused, and asked.

"But didn’t you say..."

Naruto hurriedly shook his head and said.

"Do you remember when I awakened Byakugan?"

Hinata hurriedly nodded, and Naruto continued.

"You see, I have awakened my ancestral bloodline through Kyubi’s Chakra. At least, that’s what Kyubi said."

"When I learn more about it, I will tell you everything. For now, just understand I transmitted my Chakra into your body."

"That Chakra then entered your eyes. It seemed like your eyes had a lot of potential, so my Chakra began evolving them."

"But this evolution requires a lot of Chakra, so Kyubi’s Chakra was absorbed by your eyes."

"Once my main body returns, he will transfer more of his Chakra into your body so your eyes can fully mutate."

Hearing his words, Hinata was a bit confused, as she had never heard about Byakugan’s progression.

But out of her love for Naruto, she trusted him and asked.

"Naruto-kun, can you take me to meet your main body?"

The clone looked at her with confusion and asked.

"But he made me protect you. That will be too risky."

"Naruto-kun!"

This time, Hinata immediately played a pitiful, cute girlfriend role.

"Alright, alright, don’t cry! I will take you there, but you must promise me one thing. You mustn’t go close."

Hinata brightly smiled and clenched her fist.

’Naruto-kun, I want to catch up with you. I want to be with you, no matter where you go.’

And just like that, she was brought to the battlefield, but when she arrived there, the first thing she saw was a root ninja jumping into Naruto’s body.

Before she could get angry at a man lusting over Naruto’s body, her face turned pale as the paper bomb exploded.

"Naruto-kun!"
