Naruto: The Uchiha They Should Have Killed

Chapter 300: Tsunade’s Decision!

Uchiha Ren did not give her an immediate answer. Instead, he carefully weighed the pros and cons of the matter.

Seeing this, Tsunade added fuel to the fire.

"You don't need to think about it too much. There's no way I'm going to agree to your previous condition!"

"Konoha is also the village of my Senju clan. Even if there were no hope of curing my hemophobia for the rest of my life, I could never turn a blind eye to the village!"

"So you can't use curing my hemophobia as leverage to threaten me. We might as well take this opportunity to settle the matter between us!"

Tsunade's words were blunt, but they were effective.

Uchiha Ren gave a bitter smile. "You win. But let me make one thing clear first. Izanami can indeed make a person recognize their true self, but the duration of the process depends on the individual."

"Every case is different. The deeper the person's obsession, the longer it will take."

"In someone like Shimura Danzō, it's even possible he might never wake up. "

Tsunade's brows furrowed slightly.

"Can't you dispel the technique yourself?"

"I can," Uchiha Ren explained, "but if I dispel it myself, the effect of the technique will disappear as well."

"Moreover, the price of using this technique is extremely high. Each use consumes one Three-Tomoe Sharingan. "

"So I can't let you use Izanami repeatedly to cure your hemophobia."

"You only have one chance."

"One chance..." Tsunade murmured.

But her gaze soon became even more resolute.

"That's enough. When do we start?"

"Anytime," Uchiha Ren said indifferently. "It mainly depends on whether you're willing."

"Then let's do it now!"

Tsunade answered without hesitation.

Uchiha Ren, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru were all stunned when they heard this. They looked at Tsunade in surprise.

They all felt that Tsunade was being a little too hasty.

"Tsunade, why don't you wait until tomorrow?" Jiraiya suggested. "It's better not to make a decision like this so casually."

Jiraiya felt that Tsunade had simply drunk too much tonight and was acting on impulse, but he did not dare say so directly. He could only give her a tactful warning.

Tsunade, however, was perfectly calm. She understood the implication behind Jiraiya's words.

"No need. I'm completely clear-headed."

She looked at Uchiha Ren.

"Let's do it now."

Until this moment, Tsunade still had no idea what Uchiha Ren and Minato Namikaze were planning.

Minato had already gone to the daimyō's court and would officially take office as the Fourth Hokage tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon, the first jōnin meeting after Minato took office would also be held.

This gave Tsunade a sense of urgency.

That was why she wanted to resolve her hemophobia as quickly as possible.

"You're sure?"

Uchiha Ren asked again to make certain.

"I'm sure." Tsunade nodded. "What do I need to do?"

"Nothing."

Uchiha Ren stopped talking and dipped a finger into some bloodstains remaining on his body. He then raised his hand and formed a series of hand seals.

"Summoning Technique!"

With a burst of white smoke, a crow about the length of a forearm flapped its wings and landed on Uchiha Ren's shoulder.

What was particularly striking was the blood-red three-tomoe Sharingan in the crow's eye socket.

Uchiha Ren looked at Tsunade.

"Give me your hand."

Tsunade froze for a moment. Although somewhat puzzled, she still extended her fair hand toward him.

Uchiha Ren reached out and grasped Tsunade's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

Tsunade immediately yanked her hand away as though she had been shocked.

The sudden movement startled the crow on Uchiha Ren's shoulder. It took flight, scattering black feathers across the floor.

Uchiha Ren instinctively reached out to grab Tsunade's hand again, but she had withdrawn too quickly. He only managed to brush her fingertips before she pulled away completely.

"What the hell are you trying to do, you brat?!"

Tsunade glared at Uchiha Ren and shouted angrily.

Uchiha Ren's expression remained unchanged.

"It's a necessary medium for casting Izanami."

Tsunade looked at him incredulously.

"Seriously? You didn't hold Shimura Danzō's hand when you used the technique on him this afternoon!"

"Unlike ordinary techniques, Izanami uses physical sensation as its medium," Uchiha Ren explained. "If you don't want to hold hands, I can slap you a few times instead."

"Get lost!"

Although Tsunade cursed him out, she nevertheless extended her hand toward Uchiha Ren again.

Uchiha Ren smiled without saying anything. He reached out once more, grasped Tsunade's hand, and gave it another gentle squeeze.

Two faint blushes appeared on Tsunade's cheeks.

Her voice sounded somewhat strange as she asked, "How long do you have to hold my hand before you can cast Izanami?"

Holding hands itself was nothing unusual to someone as straightforward and uninhibited as Tsunade. Under normal circumstances, she would not have cared about something so trivial.

Yet for some reason, knowing that this hand-holding had a specific purpose made her feel extremely awkward.

There was even a strange sense of embarrassment.

"It doesn't have much to do with how long I hold it," Uchiha Ren said. "What matters is the number of times we make contact."

As he spoke, he gently squeezed Tsunade's hand once more.

The crow also returned to his shoulder.

"Then why are you still holding on?"

Tsunade suddenly felt as though she had been played for a fool. She immediately pulled her hand free again.

Uchiha Ren reached out to grab it once more, but once again, he only managed to touch her fingertips without actually catching her hand.

His movement was so large that the crow on his shoulder took flight again, scattering black feathers across the floor.

Tsunade froze.

She stared at the eerily familiar scene, feeling that something was extremely strange.

She looked toward Uchiha Ren, seeking an explanation.

But Uchiha Ren merely gave her a meaningful smile.

Then he extended his hand once again.

"A genjutsu that uses physical sensation as its medium... now that really is impressive."

In the real world, Orochimaru looked at the motionless Tsunade, who had completely lost consciousness, and couldn't help sighing in admiration.

"Indeed," Jiraiya agreed. "As long as you're fighting, contact with your opponent is practically unavoidable. A technique like this is almost impossible to guard against."

His gaze toward Uchiha Ren contained even more wariness than before.

Uchiha Ren formed hand seals and dispelled the Summoning Technique.

"Different people see things differently. There's no such thing as a flawless technique in this world, and Izanami is no exception."

"You already know the medium required to trigger Izanami, so finding a way to counter it shouldn't be too difficult."

Jiraiya and Orochimaru remained silent.

Jiraiya was already thinking about the supposed countermeasure, while Orochimaru was more interested in what Izanami's actual effect would be.

"All right. She'll be in no danger for the next three days. If she still hasn't regained consciousness after three days, bring her back to me."

"I'll take my leave first."

With that, Uchiha Ren stood up, exchanged a few words with Jiraiya, and then gestured to Orochimaru.

"We'll be going."

Orochimaru also said goodbye to Jiraiya before following Uchiha Ren out.
