Chapter 612 - 424: Great Battle with the Eighteen-winged Angel

  • Next Chapter

In that mysterious Demon Cave, shrouded by an eerie aura, the atmosphere was so oppressive it felt tangible.

Suddenly, an Eighteen-winged Angel, its entire body blazing with a golden radiance, appeared out of thin air.

The radiance was so bright it was almost blinding, as if a small sun had suddenly risen within the Demon Cave.

This Eighteen-winged Angel tightly gripped a Holy Sword. The blade radiated a chilling light, as if all the sharpness in the world was concentrated within it.

In that instant, the Angel swung its arm, bringing the Holy Sword down with the unstoppable force of a thunderbolt.

In a flash, boundless power erupted from the Holy Sword, transforming into countless, razor-sharp streams of Sword Qi that tore through the surroundings like tangible blades.

As the Holy Sword descended, furious and unstoppable gales swept out to either side.

The sound of the wind was like countless enraged beasts roaring in unison, threatening to drag all of creation into this terrible storm.

In its wake, everything was mercilessly overturned and torn to shreds.

As it turned out, to summon this phenomenally powerful Eighteen-winged Angel, the two Archbishops, Beckett and Guerrero, had willingly burned their own life force.

Though they wouldn’t die instantly from burning their life force like the Tota Arhat of the Buddha Country, it had undoubtedly inflicted immeasurable, almost irreparable, damage upon their bodies.

No one knew if they would ever have a chance to replenish the life energy they had lost today.

However, at this life-or-death moment, Beckett and Guerrero knew full well that if they held back, still clinging to selfish notions, their only fate would be death in this mysterious Chinese Demon Cave.

Just as everyone stood paralyzed by the horrifying scene, the brilliant gold Holy Sword in the Eighteen-winged Angel’s hand, already imbued with world-destroying power, slashed violently toward Chu He.

However, to everyone’s shock, Chu He simply stood where he was, completely motionless.

The immense wind pressure, like a massive, invisible hand, furiously compressed the ground around Chu He.

Instantly, the once-solid ground fractured like brittle ice, a dense web of fissures of all sizes spreading across it.

Dust surged into the air along with the spreading fissures, forming a thick pall that obscured all sight and threatened to blot out the sky.

Not far away, Amaterasu sensed this utterly terrifying power fluctuation, and her expression instantly darkened.

She knew well that the Eighteen-winged Angel, and even the Twelve-winged Angels before it, was imbued with the immense power of Deities in every minute movement.

Even for a being like her, who had also once been a Deity, there was no way she could possibly withstand contact with such a divine aura.

Left with no choice, Amaterasu could only rapidly channel her power and frantically retreat, putting a great distance between herself and the blast to avoid being caught in its terrifying wake.

Meanwhile, the Holy Sword, radiating a dazzling light and charged with boundless power, fell straight toward the crown of Chu He’s head.

Just in the nick of time, as the Holy Sword was about to strike Chu He’s head, Chu He simply tilted his head slightly to the left.

That seemingly simple and casual movement, however, altered the Holy Sword’s trajectory, causing it to land heavily on Chu He’s shoulder.

Seeing this, ecstatic grins spread across the faces of Beckett and Guerrero.

They knew the power of this Holy Sword all too well; this single strike was enough to instantly tear Chu He’s entire body apart.

’In their minds, once a body was shredded by such immense power, there was no chance of survival, no matter what heaven-defying abilities Chu He possessed.’

On the other side, Amaterasu’s expression became impossibly dark.

Her fate was inextricably linked with Chu He’s; if one flourished, so did the other, and if one perished, the other would follow.

If Chu He fell in this battle, she would surely be dragged down into eternal damnation with him.

Amaterasu simply couldn’t understand. ’Why is Chu He just standing there? Faced with such a lethal attack, why isn’t he even trying to dodge?’

’Is he that confident in his defenses?’

’But he hasn’t made a single defensive move. He’s just standing there...’

’Is he really planning to take this terrifying, deity-infused attack head-on with his physical body alone?’

On the battlefield, choked with dust and roiling with power, all eyes were locked on Chu He.

Time seemed to freeze. Everyone held their breath, waiting for the outcome, wondering if Chu He could possibly perform a miracle and survive an attack powerful enough to destroy everything.

The Eighteen-winged Angel’s golden radiance became increasingly dazzling, threatening to melt the entire Demon Cave in its light.

The instant the Holy Sword made contact with Chu He’s shoulder, a ripple of unimaginable power radiated violently outward from the point of impact, like waves spreading across water.

The surrounding air ignited, churning violently with a sharp SIZZLE, as if it were screaming in agony.

Chu He’s body trembled slightly. The clothing on his shoulder instantly turned to dust, revealing the skin underneath.

Astonishingly, the moment the skin came into contact with the Holy Sword, it wasn’t immediately torn apart. Instead, a faint, almost imperceptible light bloomed across it.
