Chapter 41: Chapter 41 - The origin of Mo Yuxin
He totally did not expect to be hit all of a sudden like this. His cheek stung excruciatingly, and he could even feel it starting to swell from the force of the slap. His eyes widened as he looked up at her, completely caught off guard. The polished woman simply clicked her tongue and stared at him after hitting him viciously, as if she had just slapped away something dirty.
Her sharp eyes glared down at him like he was nothing more than a bug beneath her feet.
"Why are you still hanging around my son? Didn’t I warn you, you little fucking thing? Don’t you dare rub your gayness onto my son."
Jua Gu just laughed.
It was ironic, really.
The real Jua Haisin was not gay. It was Ying Di who had feelings for him and had tortured him sexually every day. Not the other way around. Yet this woman was making it seem like he was the bad guy here, as if he was the one ruining her precious son.
"You fucking bastard! You dare laugh?" she shouted, raising her hand to slap him again.
This time, Jua Gu quickly moved back a step and easily dodged her hand. His lips were still curled into a small smile as he gazed up at her.
"Oh, your precious little flower of a son is the one who is corrupted to the core. Don’t you know? He carves my body every night and cannot even sleep without seeing my face..."
Mo Yuxin’s face scrunched up in disgust as she stared at him.
This fucking bastard.
If it were not for her husband feeling pity for his situation and taking him in, would this little rat even have the right to stand this close to her?
She clenched her fists tightly, forcing herself to hold back her anger.
Not right now.
This disgusting villain could be dealt with later. Right now, her son was the one she needed to concentrate on.
She shot Jua Gu one last glare before turning around and walking away.
The servants hurried after her, one of them quickly handing her a handkerchief so she could wipe her hand.
Mo Yuxin took it with a grunt and wiped her palm before glaring ahead.
I’m the winner of this life. I won this place and all the people around here. Who does he think he is? That fucking rat.
She would deal with him later.
For now, her beloved son was more important.
She walked toward Ying Di’s room and gently knocked on the door.
"Darling, can Mommy come in?"
There was no answer from inside.
Mo Yuxin waited for a moment before knocking again.
"Are you still angry with Mommy because I was away for so long? I bought you a lot of gifts." She snapped her fingers at the servant carrying the gift bag. "Here, I even bought you the bags you wanted. They’re your favourite ones."
"....."
Her brows slowly furrowed.
Without a second delay, she opened the door and walked inside.
However, instead of finding her son angry or ignoring her, she saw him sleeping peacefully on the bed. Her eyes immediately softened.
She walked over and sat down beside him, gently caressing his hair.
"My precious darling, you must have been so tired..."
Seeing his soft and peaceful face, all the love in her heart seemed to overflow.
It was all for him.
Everything she had done had been for him.
She had been living for him all these years.
Her gaze slowly wandered toward the window as old memories came back to her.
In fact, she hadn’t been part of this world at all.
She had once simply been a service worker who was always obsessed with novels. Her recent obsession had been The CEO Who Pampered Me. It had been such a good read. The male lead of the novel, Ying Rui, was the soft and handsome type who would pamper the person he loved, while the female lead, Feng Yao, was the soft Cinderella type who would cry over everything.
One night, she had been reading the novel in her bed the next second, she woke up in this world.
Mo Yuxin’s face scrunched up at the memory.
That had been twenty-five years ago.
At first, she had thought she had gained the body of the heroine, Feng Yao, but to her disappointment, she had ended up inside the body of Mo Yuxin, the best friend of the heroine.
Feng Yao was beloved by everyone, while Mo Yuxin, the illegitimate daughter of the family, was hated and looked down upon.
At first, she had simply wanted to enjoy the story from a reader’s perspective. She wanted to watch the main leads fall in love and succeed in life.
But as she watched the two of them together, a strange envy slowly filled her.
She wanted to be the one pampered by Ying Rui.
She wanted to be the one he hugged and kissed.
She wanted to be Feng Yao.
By this point, Feng Yao had already married Ying Rui and gotten her happy ending. The ending of the novel had been achieved.
But Mo Yuxin never got the ending she wanted.
She wanted that spot next to Ying Rui.
So she simply slipped into their lives slowly.
At first, she used her identity as Feng Yao’s friend to enter their home. The young married couple were struggling to have a child, and that gave her the perfect entry point into both their lives.
Slowly...
Very slowly, she got closer to Ying Rui.
She used his grief over not having a child to get closer to his heart.
Then one day, when the man was drunk, she used the opportunity to its full potential.
They slept together.
And Ying Di was born.
But the next day, the man woke up filled with regret and guilt. Instead of staying with her, he ran away and went back to his beloved wife.
Mo Yuxin clenched her fists tightly at the memory.
That was when she realized the full truth.
If Feng Yao was still alive, Ying Rui would never look her way.
By this point, her beloved son was already six years old.
Ying Rui had never told Feng Yao about her and their son, but he would occasionally visit them because of his guilt.
Those occasional visits only made her love for him bloom even more.
That selfish desire to hold him close slowly became impossible to control.
Then Feng Yao became pregnant.
And that was the opening she needed.
It was the weakness she could use to enter their lives again.
Feng Yao stupidly trusted her.
Mo Yuxin mockingly laughed at the thought.
Who asked her to trust me?
Her gaze dropped toward her perfectly manicured nails, one of them still stained with a tiny bit of blood from the slap.
It had been very easy dealing with her and stealing her husband right afterward.
Ying Rui had felt guilty for what happened and married her, bringing their son into the house as well.
Even so...
That man still seemed to prefer that fucking Ying Mao over their son.
It was infuriating.
Her fingers gently tangled themselves into her beloved son’s hair as she stared at his sleeping face.
What’s not to like about our Ying Di? He is our beloved love bond together. Why doesn’t he prefer him?
Her teeth clenched.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
Finally, she shot up from the bed and walked out of the room.
The butler quickly hurried after her.
"Madam, did you see what happened yesterday? Ying Di doesn’t have any weapon on his head..."
Mo Yuxin immediately turned around and glared at him.
"Madam, we all saw it. It was like dark magic or a ghost."
"If ghosts existed, I’d have been dead long ago." She waved her hand impatiently. "Stop creating stories and continue your work."
The servants quickly lowered their heads.
Mo Yuxin shooed them away before turning around and walking off to her room, still irritated by everything that had happened.
She pulled out her phone and dialled Ying Rui’s number.
The call connected after a few rings.
"Ying Rui, I made your favourite abalone soup. You should come home early today. I can have it warmed up for you when you get back."
Her voice softened as she spoke to him, the anger she had shown only moments ago disappearing completely.
There was a short silence on the other end before Ying Rui finally answered.
"I won’t be coming home tonight."
Mo Yuxin’s smile immediately disappeared.
"What?"
"I have a meeting."
Her brows furrowed.
"Did the servant not call you? Ying Di was hurt yesterday. You should at least come home and check on your son!"
Her voice rose as the irritation she had been holding back finally came out.
"He could have been seriously hurt, and you still don’t even care enough to come home?"
There was another long sigh from the other end.
"I have a meeting, Yuxin. I’ll come back when I’m free."
Before she could say anything else, the call was abruptly cut.
Mo Yuxin stared at her phone in disbelief.
Then her fingers slowly tightened around it.
That man...
She gritted her teeth before putting the phone away and gripping the doorknob beside her tightly, her knuckles turning pale.
If it had been Ying Mao who had been hurt, that man would have come running without even thinking about his meeting.
He would have dropped everything just to see whether that brat was alright.
But Ying Di?
His own son?
He couldn’t even come home.
The more she thought about it, the more her hatred toward Ying Mao grew.
That brat was always taking everything that should have belonged to her son.
Even Ying Rui’s attention.
She hated that brat even more because of it.
