Kael waited, sitting in silence while Seraphine took all the time she needed to make her breakthrough.

As for the fact that she would become stronger than him afterward, Kael didn’t really care.

Her acceptance was already close to one hundred, and by that point, Seraphine had fully accepted herself as his woman.

What kind of coward would he be if he were afraid of having a woman stronger than him?

All of those items were incredibly valuable, but the secret imprint stood out among them.

As for the other three items, Kael wasn’t quite sure what to make of them.

The Nirvana Pill was good for entering a state of enlightenment, and the Ten Thousand Colors Sweet Herb had no use for him, though it could be sold for a fortune.

The Great Beast-Devouring Cauldron, however, was something he could only test later.

With a sigh, Kael simply made sure the imprint was placed in his dantian, ready to be activated at the first sign of danger.

As for the true owner of that imprint sensing his presence, he only relaxed after receiving confirmation from the system that it’s owner was almost certainly dead, since the imprint was nearly one hundred thousand years old.

If the owner were alive, he would surely sense his own soul imprint inside a cultivator as weak as Kael.

Fortunately, to have lived for so long, that cultivator would need to be at a level where even the powers of the Divine Light Continent would bow before him.

What were the odds that this random venerable had reached the Immortal Ascension Realm and was still alive after a hundred thousand years?

Fourteen hours later, already well into the next day, Kael heard an excited little squeal and felt a powerful pulse of Qi burst out from inside the cultivation chamber.

The walls trembled slightly, and a breeze thick with spiritual energy swept down the hallway, tugging at his hair and robes.

Kael pushed himself off the wall and stood up just in time to see the chamber door swing open and to feel Seraphine’s Golden Core Realm cultivation explode outward.

For a moment, Seraphine didn’t know what to say.

In the end, all she could do was throw herself at him, grabbing his head with both hands and yanking his face straight into her chest.

"You won’t survive this time, you perverted bastard!" she declared forcefully, squeezing even tighter.

Soon, Kael found himself fighting against that cruel fate once again.

Her cheeks had taken on a rosy hue similar to that of her hair as she avoided Kael’s gaze, tucking a stray strand behind her ear.

As for getting a real answer from him... that could wait until they left the secret realm.

"Let’s try going down to the lower regions... all the recorded cases in the history of the Golden Alliance Sect’s recruitment token encounters took place there," Seraphine said, her voice already firmer.

Kael nodded.

Everything beneath that palace was a gigantic network of tunnels and labyrinths, a dangerous place known for something very particular: the door leading there opened only once, for five minutes.

After that, it could only be opened from the inside, and it wouldn’t open again until the next secret realm.

That was why even those Golden Core Realm cultivators formed groups, making it easier to explore its interior.

If Kael and Seraphine went in first and then emerged laden with riches, they would most certainly become prime targets.
