The Holy Martyrdom Soul-Sealing Formation was dispersing. Its remaining energy was leaking out through its core.

Since Hong Zheng and his wife served as the formation's core, perpetually hovering between life and death, this dissipating energy projected their spiritual forms outward. It was just like sunlight streaming through a rose window, leaving behind a magnificent array of colorful light.

This was, in truth, the final flare of a dying ember. Once the formation's power completely dissipated, the two of them would be gone forever.

When Yu Xian saw the two figures appear before him, he immediately stopped. Then he noticed the wounds on their bodies. Their brows, jaws, throats, temples, and abdomens all bore marks of injury.

These two seniors are still enduring the agony felt by everyone who died inside the Holy Martyrdom Soul-Sealing Formation! Even though it had come down to the absolute final moment, and the formation itself was on the verge of dispersing, they were still subjected to the torment.

Yu Xian felt a deep ache in his heart. For more than five hundred years, they had endured the pain of those wounds and experienced dying again and again. Worse, the formation had kept their self-awareness awake the entire time, leaving them unable to either live or die.

Yu Xian quickly stepped forward. He wanted to do something for the two of them, but even after going through all his abilities, the only thing he could think of was Blood Healing. Maybe it could remove the negative state affecting them.

He immediately mobilized the Blood Energy in his body with both hands and cast Blood Healing on them. However, when the red light fell upon them, it had no effect at all.

The formation was soon going to disperse, and once it did, Hong Zheng and his wife would vanish along with it. But Yu Xian could not stand by and watch them suffer. Even if it was only for a single second, he wanted them to have a little peace in their final moment.

His Super Brain went into overdrive. One plan after another flashed through his mind, only to be discarded again and again.

In the end, he placed his hopes on the last bit of divine power he had left. He raised his hands and cast Blood Healing with the divine power of deceit. Two streams of emerald-green light drifted from his hands and fell upon Hong Zheng and his wife.

Yu Xian immediately noticed the wounds on Hong Zheng and his wife gradually disappearing. It worked!

Gritting his teeth, he continued using the divine power of deceit to cast Blood Healing again and again, healing the wounds on their bodies bit by bit. He knew very well that what he was doing was purely wasting the last of his divine power of deceit. Once the formation was completely dispersed, everything he had done would become meaningless. But sometimes, doing something was not about benefit, nor did it necessarily have to hold meaning. Yu Xian only knew that he wanted to do it, and so he did.

He drained the very last drop of divine power of deceit and finally managed to heal the wounds on Hong Zheng and his wife. Looking at the two of them, he could not help but smile in satisfaction.

Not for benefit. Not for anything else. He only hoped that this could bring these two heroes a brief moment of peace, so that they would no longer have to suffer in pain.

At that moment, the Holy Martyrdom Soul-Sealing Formation began dispersing much faster. Hong Zheng's and his wife's tightly shut eyes slowly opened. First, the two of them looked at each other in surprise. Then they seemed to understand what had happened.

They immediately embraced each other tightly, letting go only after a long time. Finally, they turned to look at Yu Xian.

Yu Xian took a deep breath and bowed. "I am Yu Xian, a junior of a later generation. Greetings, Seniors."

The two of them looked at him, then could not help but glance at each other again. A trace of comfort appeared in their eyes. The moment they saw him, they understood that their choice had not been wrong. Everything they had given had been worth it.

Hong Zheng smiled after Yu Xian straightened up. "Is Huaxia doing well now? Have the problems with supernatural criminals and supernatural creatures been solved?"

Yu Xian nodded. "Senior, Huaxia is doing very well. The country now possesses an extremely powerful supernatural organization. It brings to justice any supernatural criminal who dares to commit a crime. Supernatural creatures have also been driven out of the cities. Ordinary humans can live and work in peace, without having to fear the threat of supernatural factions."

Hong Zheng let out a joyful laugh. "That is truly wonderful. Xiao Zhen and I were both orphans raised on the kindness of others. The reason we founded the Rising Tide Society was that children in the future would not lose their parents to supernatural factions the way we did."

After that, he asked many more questions, and Yu Xian answered them one by one. The three of them talked happily.

Cui Xianzhen watched the two of them with a gentle smile. Then, as if remembering something, she looked toward the bones not far away. "Yu Xian, most of the members of Rising Tide Society were orphans. If possible, could I trouble you to bury everyone's remains on Mount Luo? That place is Rising Tide Society's base, and it is also home to all of us."

Hong Zheng quickly caught on. "That's right. The base on Mount Luo is extremely well hidden and requires a specific blade and butterfly to gain entry. Here is the blade. The butterfly is on Xiao Zhen's Natal Gu Insect. Once you've unlocked the main gates, consider them a gift from your seniors. They shall be yours from then on."

Yu Xian looked at the two of them, deeply moved. He wanted to say that he did not need anything from them and that he was more than willing to bring the remains of everyone from Rising Tide Society to Mount Luo for a proper burial. But before he could speak, Cui Xianzhen gently touched his forehead. A cyan butterfly pattern appeared between his brows before rapidly sinking beneath his skin and vanishing.

Cui Xianzhen smiled gently. "Thank you. Ah Zheng and I both know how difficult it must have been to accomplish all this. To see such an exceptional junior like you at the very end, and to know that our choice was not wrong, is already the greatest gift we could have received. So this is our gift in return."

She was referring to dealing with the Namoans sealed within the formation, as well as healing the mental trauma they had endured for five hundred years.

A butterfly appeared in Yu Xian's consciousness. It instantly pulled his consciousness into a vast, incredibly distant expanse, and an absolute torrent of Gu Master knowledge flooded into his mind.

Clearly, Cui Zhenzhen possessed an extraordinarily unique understanding of mental energy and consciousness. She was utilizing the residual power of the Holy Martyrdom Soul-Sealing Formation to pass her knowledge down to Yu Xian.

The Rising Tide Society discovering the Namo Race in the first place already proved that the organization had a supernatural being well-versed in mental energy. Without a way to detect the Namo Race, they could never have used the Holy Martyrdom Soul-Sealing Formation to seal them.

While Yu Xian sank into the ocean of knowledge, the formation began dispersing even faster because Cui Xianzhen had used part of its power to pass on her knowledge. Hong Zheng and Cui Xianzhen both knew that their time was almost up. At this moment, they had eyes only for each other.

Hong Zheng gently embraced Cui Xianzhen. "I'm sorry. I promised I would give you a good life."

Cui Xianzhen leaned against him and smiled. "Mm. Then remember to fulfill that promise in our next life. Don't forget."

The light radiating from the formation grew dimmer and dimmer. Gradually, the motes of light around the two of them also faded. In the end, the radiance went out, and in the darkness, only Yu Xian remained standing where he was.
