Chapter 233: Energy System, Rule System, and Mind System

Fortunately, the second dish arrived at that moment. The Wondrous Fireball really was a fireball floating above a plate, looking almost like a miniature sun. It was roughly the size of a basketball and radiated scorching heat as it sat on the dining table. Shui Yuetian picked up the knife and fork beside her, cut off a piece of the fireball, and urged everyone to eat it "while it was hot."

Yu Xian cut off a piece of the fireball and took a bite. His first impression was that it was scalding, his second was that it was hot, and after that came a flavor he simply couldn't put into words. He felt as though he had been set on fire from head to toe.

Gong Qian put down her knife and fork. Her hair had turned into blazing flames, and she spoke with an expression that showed she was having a hard time accepting it. "This flavor... isn't bad, but I don't really like it."

Bluebird's face was flushed red. "It's too hot. It feels like there's a flame inside me that's about to burst out."

Shui Yuetian stood up with a smile and walked over to an open area. She raised her hands, and a surge of flames erupted from her palms, forming a five-meter-long pillar of fire.

Bluebird got up and walked over to Shui Yuetian. "So, that's how it works."

She guided the flames inside her and released them from her hands as well. Another massive pillar of fire appeared.

Shui Yuetian told everyone. "If you feel it building up, don't hold it in. These flames can burn away illnesses in your body."

Gong Qian stepped forward, and pillars of fire likewise erupted from her hands. Yu Xian's body was naturally healthy beyond measure, but seeing everyone else having fun with it, he also went over to join in. However, instead of releasing the pillar of fire from his hands, a column of flame shot straight into the sky from the top of his head.

While releasing flames, Zhang Shou asked, "This is seriously amazing. How exactly do they do this?"

Both lightning and fireballs could be eaten. Not only did they taste good, but they could even loosen the muscles and bones and eliminate illnesses. To him, it was genuinely incredible.

Shui Yuetian explained, "Crescent Bay divides supernatural systems into the Energy System, the Mind System, and the Rule System. The head chef of the House of Wondrous Abilities is a rare Rule-System supernatural being. He can process his abilities into food and grant those foods special effects."

Zhang Shou was surprised. "Only three systems? Then what system would someone like Gong Qian belong to?"

"The Energy System, of course," Shui Yuetian replied. "Any supernatural being whose abilities require energy to sustain them is classified under the Energy System. Body refiners are the same. During body refining, they need to absorb energy. Without energy, there's simply no way for them to grow stronger."

Zhang Shou pointed at himself. "What about me?"

Shui Yuetian patiently answered, "You're also part of the Energy System. Without energy, you wouldn't be able to do anything either."

After breathing out flames from his mouth, Little Nora chimed in. "Actually, about eighty percent of all supernatural beings in existence belong to the Energy System. Only a very small number belong to the Rule System or Mind System."

Gong Qian became curious. "Then are the Rule System and Mind System stronger than the Energy System?"

Shui Yuetian replied, "That depends on what kind of abilities the Rule-System or Mind-System supernatural beings possess. Most rules controlled by Rule-System supernatural beings are more support-oriented, so many Rule-System supernatural beings still obediently end up cultivating Energy-System techniques as well."

Zhang Shou murmured, "So, you can cultivate more than one system."

Bluebird asked, "Then how does someone cultivate the Rule System?"

"I don't know," Shui Yuetian answered. "Rule-System abilities are extremely mysterious. It's said that some people suddenly gain the ability to use them after an epiphany, while others enter certain mysterious spaces and emerge with a particular rule already attached to them. And they all keep their cultivation methods secret to avoid being countered."

Zhang Shou frowned. "The way you obtain them is so random, yet they're still classified as an entire major system. Looks like the Rule System must be really powerful."

Shu Yuetian corrected him. "More accurately, some Rule-System abilities are extremely powerful."

By then, everyone had finished releasing their flames, so they returned to their seats. Shui Yuetian explained, "For example, Shi Gan, the leader of the Stone Hunting Group, possesses the Rule of Bedrock. Although he isn't a Star-rank powerhouse, even Star-rank powerhouses can't harm him in the slightest."

Zhang Shou enviously said, "Now that's seriously impressive."

Everyone here had seen what attacks from Star-rank powerhouses looked like in Yu Xian's earlier videos. To remain completely unharmed under attacks like those really was as solid as bedrock.

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they did not rush to leave and instead remained seated, chatting casually.

Curious, Zhang Shou asked, "Shuishui, aside from differences in appearance, is there anything else that sets the Sea Race apart from humans?"

Shui Yuetian smiled. "Of course. The Sea Race is actually a species that lives in the ocean. Don't be fooled by the fact that we can walk around on land. Little Nora sprawled across the table. "I know. Soul Transfer, Creation from Nothing, and Mental Modification are all Mind-System abilities."

Shui Yuetian chuckled. "Little Nora, that info is outdated."

Little Nora immediately felt as though the sky had collapsed on him again. His brows drooped into an inverted V as he stared at her in horror. "Huh? Outdated again?"

Shui Yuetian explained, "Soul Transfer, Creation from Nothing, and Mental Modification can actually be achieved through the Energy System as well. The latest definition of the Mind System is supernatural beings who grow stronger through pure meditation, without relying on any external aid."

Yu Xian was surprised. "They don't need energy?"

"They don't."

"Then what do Mind-System supernatural beings rely on to become stronger? Just imagining themselves stronger?"

"I don't know."

Everyone was stunned. If that was really the case, then the Mind System was far too strange.

Still, if there really was a way to grow stronger without relying on external resources, it would be perfectly suited to the inhabitants of the Blue Planet. After all, the Blue Planet lacked resources, and there had been plenty of ascetics throughout history. If a Mind-System cultivation method were introduced to the planet, it could flourish there.
