"The door... the door has appeared!!" Zhao Xuejun exclaimed in surprise.

At this moment, the remaining companions were in tears. Liu Hongwei covered his face, unable to believe what was in front of him; they had initially thought that their chances of survival were very slim.

This ghostly killing was impossible to resolve from their perspective, far more difficult than the tasks they had encountered before.

Looking at the door before him, Yang Xiao was momentarily overwhelmed with mixed emotions. Zhou Wenqing’s attempt to flee through "a path for life" had ultimately turned into the exit from the nightmare, which was undeniably an immense irony.

Although it was very certain that the door before them was the exit, the power fluctuations beyond the door coming from the same origin as the Nightmare World, Yang Xiao instinctively decided to play it safe due to the ghost’s formidable disguise ability.

But while he could wait, there were those who couldn’t. Guo Tiejun, sporting a sleek back hair, quickly stepped forward, pulled open the door in excitement, and rushed in, disappearing instantly.

After the door appeared, Guo Tiejun left without a word, becoming the first lucky person to escape the Nightmare World.

"Heartless thing," Ye Zheng muttered in a low voice.

"Captain Ma, it’s all thanks to you this time. I... I don’t have much to repay you with, so I’m going to kowtow to you." Zhao Xuejun walked over and knelt down with a thud, kowtowing to Yang Xiao.

Hu Weimin and Liu Hongwei also came over, kneeling behind Zhao Xuejun, each giving Yang Xiao three loud kowtows.

Yang Xiao didn’t refuse, but calmly looked at Ye Zheng, who was the only one present apart from himself who hadn’t knelt down.

Being stared at by Yang Xiao like that, Ye Zheng couldn’t help but open her eyes wide and asked in disbelief, "Hey, hey, hey, what are you looking at? You don’t want me to kowtow too, do you?"

"Firstly, my name isn’t ’Hey’, secondly, I think it’s not impossible," Yang Xiao said seriously.

Now that the predicament had lifted, and the nightmare had been broken, the relieved Yang Xiao didn’t mind making a little joke with Ye Zheng.

But while Yang Xiao didn’t mind, it didn’t mean others shared the sentiment. Zhao Xuejun was displeased seeing Ye Zheng’s refusal to kneel:

"Chen Qiaoyun, aren’t you too heartless? If you hadn’t been lucky enough to group with Captain Ma, could you have survived till now? How come you have no sense of gratitude?"

At this, Ye Zheng flared up instantly, glaring viciously at Zhao Xuejun, "I’m warning you, mind your own business. After you kowtow, go wherever cool suits you. Goodbye and good riddance!"

"Oh please, you dare speak to me like this. Haven’t you been beaten up before? Do you even know what I do outside?!"

Zhao Xuejun jumped up, rolled up his sleeves, revealing a dragon tattoo on his chest, with an intimidating look ready to teach Ye Zheng a lesson.

"Enough, this is none of your business, go home." Yang Xiao raised his chin, persuading Zhao Xuejun, who was about to act.

"If Captain Ma hadn’t pleaded for you, I wouldn’t let you off without kneeling today even if I shared a surname with you."

Seeing Yang Xiao spoke, Zhao Xuejun had no choice but to stop. He had disliked Ye Zheng for a while now; this guy relied on Yang Xiao’s influence, never taking them seriously, and always spoke with an air of arrogance.

After thanking Yang Xiao several times, the three successively stepped through the exit and quickly vanished.

Seeing Ye Zheng still glaring at the direction Zhao Xuejun had left, Yang Xiao frowned, "Don’t be so petty, they’re small characters and inherently not bad. Miss Ye, let it go, don’t trouble him when we get out."

"Do I look like someone that petty?" Ye Zheng laughed.

"Mm..." Yang Xiao hesitated for a moment, "Never mind, I won’t say it."

"Thank you this time, Yang Xiao. Zhao Xuejun wasn’t wrong; if it weren’t for you, everyone would’ve been done for. I can’t carry them, only you could." Ye Zheng said sincerely.

"You helped me a lot, you have your share of the credit." Yang Xiao wasn’t one to take credit. He recognized Ye Zheng’s contribution, appreciating all her efforts.

"Until we meet again," Ye Zheng said.

"Until we meet again," Yang Xiao replied.

Watching as Ye Zheng’s figure disappeared through the door, Yang Xiao turned around, taking one last look at this Nightmare World, then walked through the door without looking back, choosing to leave.

As soon as he stepped through the door, Yang Xiao stumbled and lost control, falling downwards, something he was quite accustomed to.

Accompanied by an eerie dizziness, as though time and space had lost their meaning, soon he knew nothing at all.

After an unknown amount of time, Yang Xiao groggily awoke, his eyelids heavy, struggling several times before barely managing to open them.

The ground beneath him felt cold, as if he was lying on his side. In the haze, he saw a gray silhouette in front of him.

Disturbingly, the shadow was moving, clearly alive, and occasionally emitting "squeaky" sounds.

Another half-minute passed, and Yang Xiao finally regained some strength and consciousness, realizing he was indeed lying on the ground, the surroundings being the old house.

He was back, and the little shadow swaying before him was a tiny gray-furred mouse.

Seeing Yang Xiao awake, the mouse squeaked, then hurriedly ran back under the bed.

This time Yang Xiao recovered quickly, and ten minutes later, he sat by the table, sipping warm tea, reminiscing about bits and pieces of the Nightmare World.
