“By the way, knowing that two people from the United Federation’s Bone Painting Tower have arrived, the General Bureau has sent reinforcements, led personally by Chief Commissioner Gu.”

As he said this, Hong Anguo couldn’t help but straighten his back, looking triumphant, and squinted his eyes, saying, “Speaking of Chief Commissioner Gu, he was swift. When he learned that Bai Wuchang, the Little House Lord of the Bone Painting Tower, had injured our people, he immediately took to the skies in pursuit, and finally cornered him before he left the province.”

“And now, it’s good, since the remaining High-level Puppet couldn’t be saved, Chief Commissioner Gu decapitated it, and even gave Bai Wuchang two big slaps. I heard that his mouth is all twisted.”

“This…” Yang Xiao could understand destroying the opponent’s puppet, but slapping someone? In the world of martial arts, face is considered more important than life. Could the Little House Lord of Bone Painting Tower really tolerate this? This person seems as wretched as myself.”

No, no, I’m not wretched, more accurately, bearing humiliation for a greater cause. However, this person’s cunning is deep and not to be underestimated.

Yet Yang Xiao was quite curious; he wanted to see with his own eyes how twisted the Little House Lord’s mouth had become.

However, speaking of which, this Chief Commissioner Gu has quite a temper too. Presumably, his strength is first-rate; I just wonder who would win against my adoptive father, the Cannibal Buddha.

Currently, within and outside the city, their Patrol Defense Office has stationed heavy troops, thoroughly controlling the situation, allowing Yang Xiao to be at ease.

“By the way, I have some good things to show you, Younger Brother Yang.”

As he spoke, Hong Anguo opened his briefcase, smiling as he took out a stack of photographs, handing them to Yang Xiao, who took and looked at them. The people in the photos were all him, captured during the battle at Yiling Academy.

There were shots of Yang Xiao standing next to Elder Sheng, Yang Xiao fighting alone, and Yang Xiao drenched in blood killing enemies.

The photo Yang Xiao was most satisfied with was one of him holding a knife single-handedly, with the head of the Master of Ruyi Sect impaled on the tip, standing at the highest point among the crowd, exuding an aura like a heavenly god descending.

Seeing Yang Xiao staring intently at this photo, Hong Anguo understood, “Younger Brother Yang, I’ve already convinced Chief Chen to send these photos to Shangjing Headquarters, and the two of us plan to jointly recommend you for recognition.”

“Brother Hong, you really are my own brother!” Yang Xiao felt immensely moved, as these photos were clearly arranged by Hong Anguo’s people onsite.

“Sigh~~” Hong Anguo waved his hand, solemnly saying, “We are brothers, no need for courtesy. Younger Brother Yang, to be frank, from the first moment I saw you, I felt a kinship, like you are my own brother.”

“Big Brother!” Yang Xiao grasped Hong Anguo’s hand, tears in his eyes.

“Younger Brother!” Hong Anguo also held Yang Xiao’s hand tightly, the brotherly bond deepening.

The duo bantered back and forth, carrying on the camaraderie for quite a while, further solidifying their emotional connection to such an extent that if the situation had been stable enough, they would have indulged in a drink to their hearts’ content.

After the emotional scene, with enough setup done, Hong Anguo reopened his briefcase and took out a thick stack of documents, handing them to Yang Xiao:

“Younger Brother Yang, these are the agreements I just received from the General Bureau, all promises made personally by Sheng Yanlin. Now that he’s gotten his wish and reclaimed the Academy, it’s time for him to fulfill those promises.”

Yang Xiao took the thick stack of papers and began to look through them. Soon, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow; the contents of these agreements were quite excessive, including but not limited to the Academy reserving 100 spots annually for the Patrol Defense Office’s young members to study there, unconditional access to portions below the 5th floor of the Scripture Pavilion for the Patrol Defense Office, registration of the Resentful Eye treasure by the Patrol Defense Office, and immediate return of any that were once owned by Patrol Defense Office experts upon verification.

Additionally, the Patrol Defense Office would establish a representative office inside the Academy, dispatching representatives for long-term residence, and two more branches must be added within Yiling City.

Having read less than a third, Yang Xiao gave up, taking a deep breath; he could hardly imagine what Sheng Yanlin’s mood must have been when he signed these.

On the last page, Yang Xiao saw Sheng Yanlin’s personal signature, with a handprint over it, resembling a criminal’s signature and seal.

“Younger Brother Yang, let me remind you, you are someone with deep feelings, but in this case, you must not act emotionally.”

“Emotions aside, rules are rules. We invested heavily in helping Sheng Yanlin reclaim the Academy, including sending 7 or 8 Netherworld Realm experts, as well as figures like Chief Commissioner Gu and Chief Wei coming in person. We must settle this account properly.”

“Let me make it clear for you, Sheng Yanlin has no choice but to agree to these terms. If we can install him as Dean, we can also remove him,” Hong Anguo’s words were sharp and straightforward.

Yang Xiao nodded, knowing that Hong Anguo meant no harm, but was merely conveying the intentions from above.

To the higher-ups, it honestly didn’t matter whether Sheng Yanlin or Sheng Jingxuan became Dean of the Academy; as long as either listens and understands, they’re considered a good Dean.

Later that night, Yang Xiao pondered alone within the base, focusing on the thick stack of agreements on the table. Though understanding it was transactional, the urgency in demanding fulfillment seemed rather hasty.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out to answer, and the voice on the other end belonged to his good brother Qu Muzhi.
