Chapter 761: Chapter 757: Hunyuan Gang Qi

Xi Chenghua and the others exchanged glances. So this unfathomably mysterious creature was their Young Master’s pet.

"The creature is named Xiu Xiu. The beast certainly lives up to its name... such incredible speed!"

"It’s not just fast, it’s shameless too! It was actually praying for our Young Master to get hurt so it could drink his blood!"

"I thought Xia Yunhai was the definition of shameless, but he’s got nothing on Xiu Xiu."

PTHOO!

Xia Yunhai had just regained consciousness when he heard their conversation. A wave of fury surged through him, and he spat out a mouthful of blood before fainting again.

’These bastards are calling me worse than an animal.’

The sound drew the attention of Xi Chenghua and the others. As they looked over, however, they were met with Xia Yunpeng’s hostile glare.

Xi Chenghua averted his eyes and changed the subject back to Dugu Shang. "Running into our Young Master... he must have the worst luck in the world."

"You can say that again. He couldn’t even withstand a single move from our Young Master and got knocked out by one little smack. I wonder if he’ll be so furious he’ll just kill himself when he comes to."

"Why isn’t he waking up?"

"That Xiu Xiu is a clever one. It knew he was the Young Master’s enemy, so it must have hit him much harder than it hit Xia Yunhai."

"True. Xiu Xiu is terrifyingly strong. If it decided to attack, not a single one of us could have dodged it."

Xiu Xiu overheard this. It shot Lin Hao a smug look, its head held high in triumph.

But a moment later, its head drooped as if it had lost all strength.

"It might be strong, but didn’t our Young Master tame it? Besides, did you notice? It wasn’t here before we started meditating. The Young Master must have just recently subdued it."

"And look at the way it was just fawning over him. So loyal..."

As Xi Chenghua and his group continued their discussion, Xiu Xiu’s fur began to turn red. It was about to lose its temper.

Fortunately, Lin Hao was quick enough to snatch it up.

Xi Chenghua and the others, completely oblivious, had no idea they had just narrowly escaped disaster.

After a while, however, they shifted the conversation to the battle that had just taken place.

"I still couldn’t see how the Young Master did that. Did any of you?" Zhao Yuanzhong asked, turning to Xi Chenghua and the others.

Xi Chenghua and Lao Xuexin exchanged a look and shook their heads in unison.

Even though their Martial Realms were higher than Lin Hao’s, they still couldn’t fathom how he had done it.

As for Xu Zihao and Bai Yu, they had been lost in thought ever since Lin Hao made his move and hadn’t joined the discussion.

Unable to find an answer, they all turned their gazes to Lin Hao.

Lin Hao smiled. Just as he was about to speak, his expression shifted. Dugu Shang was awake.

Xiu Xiu’s attack had not been light. When Dugu Shang came to, his mind was a complete fog.

He clutched his head for a long moment before his senses finally returned.

SWOOSH!

He shot to his feet, his eyes locked on Lin Hao and Xiu Xiu.

Then, he attacked again.

After that one failure, Dugu Shang’s martial convictions had nearly shattered. But while Xiu Xiu’s strike had knocked him unconscious, it had also given him time to rapidly adjust his mindset.

The Dugu Shang who attacked this time was devoid of his earlier contempt and arrogance. In its place was caution—extreme caution.

This time, he didn’t use the ultimate Secret Skill from the Primordial Undying Scripture, which could reverse time and space. Instead, he employed a different Dao.

Xi Chenghua and the others retreated, feeling a powerful suppressive force.

In mid-air, Xiu Xiu once again brought its small paws together in a pious-looking clasp.

Needless to say, it was once again praying to the heavens for Lin Hao to get injured so it could have some of his blood.

At that moment, stars began to appear in Dugu Shang’s eyes. As his pupils turned, those very stars manifested in the physical world.

The stars hurtled toward Lin Hao with incredible speed.

Lin Hao’s figure blurred as he dodged one of them.

Dugu Shang’s eyes narrowed sharply.

BOOM!

The star exploded, transforming into endless Gang Qi that annihilated time and space.

Ravines spread out from the explosion, and massive boulders that tumbled down were instantly pulverized into dust in mid-air.

Above the chasm, the primordial energy of the heavens and earth was blasted away, leaving nothing behind.

The explosive force was world-shaking. If Lin Hao hadn’t dodged, he would have gotten off lightly with just his qi and blood roiling.

And that was the result of just one star exploding.

One star after another hurtled toward Lin Hao, seemingly without end.

However, after dodging the first star, Lin Hao stopped evading and reached out to grab the next one.

Far in the distance, Xi Chenghua and the others watched the great battle with shining eyes. Their faces paled when they saw Lin Hao’s next move.

The stars in Dugu Shang’s eyes weren’t real stars. They were manifestations of Primordial Gang Qi, condensed after cultivating the Primordial Undying Scripture—energy capable of annihilating anything.

Forget a Martial Artist at the Sealed Martial Realm Fourth Layer; even those at the Sealed Martial Realm Sixth Layer, Seventh Layer, or even the Sealed Martial Realm Peak wouldn’t dare to face such power head-on.

According to legend, there was a saying about the Primordial Undying Scripture: so long as an enemy lived, its Primordial energy was inexhaustible.

As long as the foe remained, the Primordial Gang Qi was truly without end!

Legend had it that the founder of the Immortal Holy Land once single-handedly slaughtered another Holy Land. He had relied on this very same endless Primordial Gang Qi.

No one knew his real name. He later founded the Immortal Sect and became known by the title of Immortal Dao Ancestor.

Dugu Shang clearly lacked the divine might of the Immortal Dao Ancestor, but his combat prowess was still formidable, and his Martial Realm was higher than Lin Hao’s. For Lin Hao to try and catch Dugu Shang’s Primordial Gang Qi with his bare hands was tantamount to suicide.

The suppressive force from Dugu Shang’s attack had jolted Xia Yunhai awake. Now standing with Xia Yunpeng, he watched the scene unfold with a cruel smile.

Xiu Xiu was smiling, too.

Hidden in the distance, it watched Lin Hao make his move, its eyes crinkling in a grin. It even licked its lips with a bright red tongue, stopping just short of drooling. The creature was utterly heartless.

In contrast, Xi Chenghua and the others showed unconcealed worry in their eyes.

They looked as if they were about to charge forward.

But at that very moment, everyone’s breath caught in their throats.

Lin Hao’s hand reached for the Primordial Gang Qi. There was no explosion. Instead, the stars vanished one by one into his palm, disappearing without a trace.

"Impossible!"

Dugu Shang roared, his eyes turning blood-red, like an ancient beast driven to madness.

His hair whipped about wildly, crackling with arcs of lightning.

The lightning shot out, piercing through empty space.

In the next instant, the world turned upside down. Everything in their surroundings dissipated. The onlookers saw Dugu Shang standing as if in a boundless universe, surrounded by endless starlight.

Opposite Dugu Shang, Lin Hao stood with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Gang Qi, return to the source! Time and space, reverse!" A majestic voice boomed, like a message from gods and demons.

The endless starlight converged in an instant. A light so brilliant it illuminated the entire world, obscuring everything from view.

Xi Chenghua and the others had already been forced to the ground, coughing up mouthfuls of blood.

The previous attack was a powerful spiritual assault, within which Dugu Shang had simultaneously unleashed his Primordial Gang Qi and his ultimate Secret Skill.

Dugu Shang had unleashed the most powerful attack he could currently muster.

This was merely the aftershock, yet it had injured Xi Chenghua and the others. For Lin Hao, who stood at the eye of the storm, the odds were grim.

Blood trickled from the corner of Xia Yunhai’s mouth, but a flicker of a smile played in his eyes.
