Nine Revolutions Star Transformation
Chapter 1302: Lin Feng's Battlefield
The next day, Chu Linfeng donned the attire of an ordinary soldier and disguised himself simply before mingling among the common troops. Upon entering the ranks, he once again experienced the impact of the grand battle on these soldiers; each was fueled by a heroic resolve, willing to make their final efforts for the peace of the Immortal Realm.
Armies of the Immortal Realm and Demon Realm filled the vast plains. At this moment, the drumming sounds from the Demon Realm echoed, shaking the heavens and boosting the morale of the demon forces.
“Charge!” With an order shouted, the two hundred thousand troops from the Demon Realm surged towards the forces of the Immortal Realm, their roars deafening, while powerful fighters from both realms gathered above them sky.
These were naturally the commanders of the battle: key figures from the Immortal Realm like the Jade Immortal Emperor, Nangong Ming, Qin Xiaojiao, Fairy Lingxiao, and Xuanyuan Yueyan, while from the Demon Realm were the Yin Yang Demon Emperor, Zuo Gufei, and dozens of late-stage Demon Emperors and Demigod Realm fighters.
Typically, battles are fought primarily by soldiers, with commanding generals engaging only towards the end, since these figures possess overwhelming strength, capable of annihilating tens of thousands with a single move.
The consequences are dire, should either side suffer heavily, so engagements at the battle’s outset aren’t typically dangerous, except for the Immortal Beast battles led by Chu Linfeng, which stand as an exception.
He subdued the Immortal Beast army with his formidable strength, most notably making the Golden Dragon King submit, but this strategy was futile here; a couple of Demigod Realm experts from the Demon Realm could easily massacre tens of thousands or more, shifting the battle from a military engagement to a devastating ethnic cleanse.
At this point, Chu Linfeng unsheathed the Cyan Frost Divine Sword and charged alongside the Immortal Realm’s ordinary soldiers. Though his strength was strong, he kept from revealing his true prowess, only using Tyrant Slash techniques, even though a single strike could kill dozens of Demon Realm soldiers.
The sight of Demon Realm troops gave Chu Linfeng quite an eyeful, featuring mind-boggling monsters—minotaur-like figures, pig-headed body forms, or creatures with three hands and four eyes—far outnumbered, displaying generally superior strength compared to Immortal soldiers, overwhelming them with no recourse.
Only the soldiers surrounding Chu Linfeng remained safe, gaining courage under his protection, quickly carving a bloody path right into the heart of demon territory.
Reaching this point, Chu Linfeng ceased holding back, frequently deploying Soul Slash to severely injure demon troops, leaving them for Immortal soldiers to finish off, cultivating rivers of blood in their wake.
Witnessing the battlefield soaked in blood, Chu Linfeng thought of Xiaoying; releasing Xiaoying would assuredly decimate demon forces, but the timing wasn’t right. He needed to gradually attract the Demon Realm commander’s attention, rather than abruptly causing upheaval.
The Immortal Beast army now displayed its might, clashing fiercely with demon troops, often transforming into their true forms to slaughter enemies, their roars continually invigorating Immortal soldiers’ spirits.
The demons sacrificed two hundred thousand troops as cannon fodder, with Yin Yang Demon Emperor viewing their lives lightly, yet Chu Linfeng’s performance caught his keen attention.
“Who is that? Since the fight began, he has slain nearly ten thousand of my demon soldiers. Though his attack power isn’t formidable, his defense is remarkable; seemingly unscathed thus far.” commented Yin Yang Demon Emperor.
“Probably an Immortal Realm Ten Thousand Commander or similar; judging by his attack power, he should be early-stage Immortal Monarch. Unexpectedly, fighting so far unharmed is indeed surprising. Shall I send subordinates to eliminate him?” Zuo Gufei suggested.
“No need for sledgehammers on chickens; dispatch a Demon Emperor. I am curious if this Immortal Ten Thousand Commander surpasses one from my Demon Realm.” replied Yin Yang Demon Emperor.
“I will mobilize a Ten Thousand Commander to kill him. Among these two hundred thousand demon cannon fodder, only ten are Centurions; a surprising fact likely beyond Immortal Realm’s imagination. Once we’ve depleted the cannon fodder, my true demon forces will engage, ensuring Immortal troops’ immediate defeat.” declared Zuo Gufei.
With his words, Zuo Gufei vanished amidst demon ranks, arriving beside a minotaur-like monster featuring towering horns, whispering before leaving.
The minotaur monster swiftly flew overhead, landing amidst the demon forces felled by Chu Linfeng; aware of its presence, Chu Linfeng chuckled to himself: “Seems I’ve caught their attention. I must carefully wear this minotaur down, abruptly slaying it would arouse suspicion.”
A few breaths later, the minotaur reached Chu Linfeng, with none beside him within several meters; the demons either feared his might or perished by his hand.
“Kid, impressive strength slaughtering so many demon troops. You’re doomed today!” growled the minotaur facing Chu Linfeng.
Eyeing the three-meter-tall minotaur wielding a five-meter-long Wolf Fang Club, weighing thousands of pounds, Chu Linfeng mused: “These demon entities are true monsters, not judged by human standards.”
“Lin Feng might grasp the Yin Yang Demon Emperor’s attention through this; the minotaur is likely a demon Ten Thousand Commander, possibly dispatched for Chu Linfeng’s demonic slaughter. I hope he refrains from hastily killing it, lest suspicion arises.” remarked Nangong Ming.
“Rest assured, Lin Feng excels at misdirection, fooling others until death without doubt; I am intimately familiar. Let us enjoy the spectacle! This first round of battle likely concludes soon, with casualties abundant.” voiced Xuanyuan Yueyan.
“Perhaps around another hour, let us see how Lin Feng deals with the minotaur!” laughed Nangong Ming, as everyone directed their gaze towards Chu Linfeng within the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Chu Linfeng taunted: “Minotaur, you don’t seem like ordinary troops; has your Demon Realm leader, noticing my widespread demon slaughter, sent a strong fighter to confront me? Still, if that’s the case, surely a more competent candidate is warranted; dealing with you is frankly tedious.”
Infuriated by Chu Linfeng’s jibe, the minotaur furiously swung its colossal Wolf Fang Club towards him, causing the surrounding space to violently tremble; Chu Linfeng intentionally leaned forward, swiftly striking out with a sword—void of real attack power—aiming to be intentionally launched back, feigning weakness…
