Chapter 257: 257. The End of Eclipse.
Back to the present…
1
Above Tamasya’s floating island.
A floating carriage stayed levitated silently above the outer boundary of Tamasya’s domain. Inside it, Cardinal Nichole sat calmly with his hands crossed; a golden ring fidgeted in his hands as he was lost in his own thoughts.
the silence was not peacefull byt agitated as if he was waiting for something nervously.
Suddenly, he sensed the presence of two individuals approaching the carriage; a few moments later, he saw the door open. Elion entered it silently, and behind him, the chained figure of Tamasya.
A smirk appeared on Nicholas’s face. “Finally caught you, bitch,” he leaned forward and spoke in a deep, bassy voice.
The satisfaction of his voice was not subtle at all; he displayed an elated expression on his face.
“Thousands of years ago, the supreme god Lux placed his divine seals on you, sealing your powers forever and saving the world from eternal darkness.” His words echoed with rehearsed righteousness, as if he had repeated this justification many times.
“Yet you survived like a roach, festering who knows where, but finally the church will once again be able to eradicate darkness from this world!!” Nicholas exclaimed. The disgust in his tone revealed deep personal hatred for her.
“Finally,” he spread his arms out in ecstasy. “The last flame of Shadow Clan would be extinguished soon.”
To him, this moment was not just success but completion of a long, hard-earned moral mission as if justice would be served with Tamasya’s death.
“Will they leave Anastasia or not??” Tamasya asked seriously. Her voice did not waver, even though her hands were bound.
“Hahaha!! “That’s not for you to decide.” Nicholas laughed, pointing his fingers at Tamasya. “You are so foolish; you really thought things would go your way once you were chained?”
His laughter filled the carriage, breaking the stillness with mockery.
“Seriously, the pope really knew how desperate you would be once your kin is at stake. I have to say your stupidity knows no bounds.”
Every word was meant to strip her of control.
“Will they leave Anastasia??” Tamasya kept asking persistently. Her question cut through his laughter and her lack of despair left him irritated.
“Shut up, don’t force me to show you your place in front of this pathetic old man!!” His patience thinned as Tamasya’s focus refused to shift.
“Will they leave Anastasia??” Tamasya asked again, making Nicholas so frustrated that he leaned forward in his seat and grabbed Tamasya’s face with a hand tightly.
The repetition unsettled him more than resistance would have.
“I swear if you don’t shut up, then…”
“THEN WHAT??”
A deep voice sounded in his right ear, halting Nicholas’s words mid-sentence. The voice did not rise in volume, yet it overpowered everything in the carriage.
Suddenly, the atmosphere of the carriage turned quiet, Nicholas’s grip on Tamasya’s face loosened, and something warm and wet covered the floor of the carriage; he felt it, the smell of blood.
Drip drip
Dripping sounds against the base of the carriage were so loud that Nicholas was forced to straighten his posture subtly and turn his head around with a raised brow.
His gaze shifted to Elion, but nothing out of place entered his vision, indicating only one thing: someone was sitting beside him.
His head turned slowly, and what entered his vision would be etched in his soul forever, and its memory will be carried with him to every afterlife.
Badump! Badump! Badump!
Hear beats raised to the limit in a single jump.
William sat beside him, gazing at him with a passive yet predatory stare as if he had already hunted prey for hunger and would now proceed to continue the hunt for fun.
His hair, unlike the previous dark sapphire blue, was now transformed; it had graphitic black ends, making him look quite unfamiliar.
There was no clue from where he had entered.
But did Nicholas care about these things? No, his gaze was etched on the horrific scene painted in front of him.
Everything else became irrelevant in that moment; the pastel shades of white sunlight highlighted the scene, making it colder and more ruthless.
In William’s lap rested a severed head.
The head belonged to William’s batchmate, the saint of the light god’s church, the next heir of Pope Winston, the illegitimate son of pope, and the one person about whome Nicholas had bragged about, to Aurelius and Klaus during the World Academy trials.
Winston Junior II
“Arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!”

William leaned back in his spaceship’s cockpit, silently resting and analyzing the gains of destroying the Clayman cult.
“Sigh!! The weird pace of my heartbeats is not stopping even now; maybe the Clayman cult was not a threat at all.”
The unease he felt did not match the scale of the victory.
[You can just have faith in yourself.]
William nodded silently with closed eyes.
His destination was the Imperial capital of the Dwarven Empire.
Tomorrow, Ethan and Maximus are supposed to meet him in the dwarven empire.
Their letter had arrived at his previous address of the chocolate shop, which was now acquired under Emily’s name, so technically she was now receiving his letters.
Before going towards the Imperial Palace as Blue Raven, William had stopped at that place to feel nostalgia for the old days of living in the capital.
The visit was not planned but instinctive.
Although he kept his face hidden in the streets. He also visited a few previous customers, especially an old lady with the name Su, who used to love his chocolate biscuits; she recognized him instantly. After all, William had made his name across the empire, being the first-year archon of the academy. Old lady Su looked at him with pride and nostalgia, blessing him with her wishes.
He gifted her a few crates of chocolate and a few coins of gold. Even though old lady Su was not his mother, she used to feed him and let him stay at her house when he had just arrived at the capital.
Although later William had left the area to start the chocolate shop, he then rarely met Old Lady Su, reasoning that he was either too busy or had some other loose excuse to avoid meeting her.
The avoidance was not because he was not grateful to her but because of his inner self that was so restless and distracted at that time; he hated the warmth with which she talked to him; he did not deserve that level of kindness; her son had died during the Bloody Tears incident.
The revelation had forced William to think things in the way that he felt uncomfortable about.
From the age of 10 broken memories of his past lives had started flashing in his brain, making him remember the painful past; he had changed a lot; even his grandpa Kaiser and grandma spoke about it, though most of the time they reasoned that William was growing up fast.
But he knew what was changing in him.
William sighed in the cockpit as the spacecraft flew at impossible speeds toward the dwarven empire; he wondered what made these two call for a meeting with him and that too so far away from their own homes.

[A/N:
This was the last Chapter of
ACT 2 – The Eclipse
I hope you guys have been liking my work till now. I have learned a lot from you all. Thanks for pointing out my little mess-ups or praising my efforts till now. I hope to see you all riding along the crazy journey ahead.
As act 2 has now been wrapped up, ask me any questions you have in mind or any feedback you would like to give. I know act 1 was faster-paced and act 2 was slow due to a lot of mental battles that the mc went through.
As you can see, the name of Act 2 is the eclipse, and what it meant for our son of the sun.
Rest assured, the act-3 will be better and not anything close to the previous act. I guess I’ve already hinted at Will’s potential at many points in the story. ]
