A Farmer's Journey To Immortality - Chapter 799: A Dao Beast’s Lordship

The pressure around Serya had become much stronger than before.
The poison essence leaking from her body alone was enough to make the nearby gu insects hesitate instinctively.
Late-stage Core Formation realm. Only one step away from the Nascent Soul realm.
Arkaal’s laughter stopped immediately. His eyes widened.
“She… She is….”
For the first time since summoning the 4th Order gu insects, a genuine alarm appeared on his face. As someone who raised poison demon beast for the majority of his life, he could feel it clearly. This was the bloodline pressure.
The poison aura around the snake girl was far from being ordinary. The strange ancient feeling surrounding her would make anyone hesitate to even speak in front of her.
This was not an ordinary demon beast who had merely transformed into her humanoid form. In the first place, how was she able to achieve her first transformation without breaking into the Nascent Soul King realm?
Many questions started haunting Arkaal incessantly. And it didn’t look like Aksai cared to explain.
Meanwhile, Serya continued rubbing her eyes sleepily before finally looking toward Aksai with a dissatisfied expression.
“Big brother,” she complained softly, “I was still not ready.”
Her voice sounded young and sweet despite the terrifying poison aura surrounding her body. Aksai looked at her helplessly.
“I know,” he said calmly. “But we have trouble.”
Only then did Serya finally look around properly. Her sleepy golden eyes slowly landed on the countless gu insects surrounding them.
Then her gaze shifted toward Arkaal.
The moment she looked at him—
Arkaal felt cold sweat run down his back. Because for a split second, the snake girl’s innocent expression vanished completely. In its place appeared something ancient, cold, and predatory.
’Is… is she a Dao Beast? It… It can’t be right? She is clearly younger than me.’
Serya tilted her head slightly before pointing toward the gu insects.
“Those bugs are ugly,” she said honestly.
Aksai almost laughed. Arkaal, however, could not laugh at all anymore.
Aksai looked at the little girl floating beside him and said. “Little Serya, first and foremost, why don’t you take care of those annoying gu insects for me?”
Serya’s small face looked calm and innocent. Her golden eyes, however, carried a strange pressure within them. The kind of pressure that even those terrifying 4th Order gu insects could not resist.
Serya looked at the gu insects for a bit before giving a better suggestion to Aksai.
“Big brother, why don’t you raise the gu yourself. They can be really helpful to you in the future.”
Without waiting for Aksai’s reply, she commanded the 4th Order Centipede-type type gu.
“Have a death match to select the best among you. The one who lives gets to serve my big brother.”
The moment her words fell, the entire battlefield changed.
The centipede-like gu insects that had been approaching Aksai suddenly stopped moving.
Then—
They turned toward each other.
Sharp screeching sounds echoed inside the sealed chamber as the insects started attacking one another madly.
Their countless legs scraped against the stone floor while poisonous smoke spread everywhere. They bit into each other’s bodies without hesitation. Thick black-green fluids splashed out from their torn shells.
One insect ripped another into half. Another wrapped around its own kin and started devouring it alive.
The scene instantly became chaotic.
Arkaal’s expression froze.
“What?!”
His eyes widened in disbelief as he quickly raised his hand and activated the ring on his finger.
The insect-shaped carving on the ring released a dark green light.
“Stop!”
Arkaal shouted angrily.
“You filthy creatures! Obey me!”
Normally, the ring would have forced the gu insects into submission instantly. But this time, nothing happened.
The insects continued tearing each other apart like mad beasts.
“No… impossible,” Arkaal muttered.
Cold sweat slowly appeared on his forehead.
He could feel it clearly.
The gu insects were still connected to the ring.
Yet something far more terrifying than the ring’s control had suppressed them completely.
Arkaal slowly turned his head toward Serya.
The moment his eyes landed on her, his heart trembled.
The little girl was simply floating there quietly beside Aksai while looking at the battlefield with curiosity.
However, behind her innocent appearance, Arkaal felt a terrifying bloodline pressure. It felt as if all poison creatures naturally had to bow before her existence.
Arkaal’s pupils shrank.
“Dao of Poison? She… she… A Dao Beast…” he whispered unconsciously.
His breathing became hurried.
“No… not just any Dao Beast…”
He finally understood why the gu insects had gone mad.
They were not rebelling. They were obeying. Obeying Serya. It was as if the technique that was used to raise them originated from her.
In the distance, the slaughter among the gu insects became even more brutal.
The stronger insects started devouring the weaker ones rapidly. Every time one insect died, the surviving ones grew stronger. Their poisonous aura also became denser and darker.
Serya watched the scene with bright eyes before nodding her head lightly.
“Good,” she said softly. “Only the strongest one deserves to serve Big Brother.”
Arkaal felt his scalp turn numb hearing those words. He finally realized something horrifying. This little girl knew how gu insects were cultivated.
Not only that—
She understood them completely.
“What… what exactly are you people?” Arkaal asked with a stiff voice.
Aksai did not answer him.
He simply stood there calmly while watching the battlefield. At this point, the balance of the battle had completely shifted once again. Arkaal’s greatest trump card had become useless.
No—
It had turned against him.
Arkaal suddenly gritted his teeth.
“You bastard!” he roared while glaring at Aksai. “You were hiding this monster too?!”
Aksai calmly replied.
“You were the one who kept showing one trump card after another first.”
Arkaal’s face twitched violently.
In the distance, the sounds of battle among the gu insects slowly started decreasing.
One after another, the weaker centipedes died.
Eventually—
Only a few remained.
These surviving gu insects were now far stronger than before. Their shells had become darker and sharper. Their poisonous aura alone was enough to rot the nearby stone floor.
Even Arkaal started feeling danger from them now.
“Stop them!” he shouted at Serya instinctively.
But Serya ignored him completely. Instead, she slowly raised her finger and pointed toward Arkaal. Her golden eyes looked directly into his.
“Big Brother,” she asked innocently, “do you want me to silence this person as well?”
Arkaal’s face twitched the moment he heard Serya’s calm voice. There was no anger in her tone. No killing intent either.
She sounded as if she was asking whether Aksai wanted tea or wine. That was what frightened Arkaal the most.
’Am… am I going to die here? Should I just run away from this place?’
He clenched his fists tightly.
No.
He could not lose his composure here. He was a late-stage Core Formation Lord.
He had survived countless dangers. He had walked beside a Nascent Soul King for centuries.
How could he allow himself to kneel before a little girl?
His expression hardened.
Before Aksai could respond to Serya, Arkaal suddenly shouted loudly.
“You coward!”
His sharp gaze landed on Aksai.
“Don’t you feel ashamed hiding behind a young girl to do your bidding? Aren’t you a man? Where is your pride as a lone cultivator?”
As he spoke, Arkaal quickly removed the gu ring from his finger and stored it back inside his storage ring.
The remaining gu insects instantly lost even more control and continued killing one another crazily.
Arkaal then slowly placed his Dadao into storage as well.
Clang.
The heavy blade disappeared.
“I will not use the gu insects anymore,” he declared.
“And I will not use my Weapon Intent either.”
He spread his arms slightly and looked directly at Aksai.
“Let’s stop using pawns and toys. Let’s fight like real men. No outside help whatsoever.”
Silence filled the chamber for a moment.
The rotten smell of poison and dead insects spread through the air while pieces of broken gu bodies continued falling to the ground behind Arkaal.
Aksai looked at the old man quietly.
Then—
He shook his head.
“Old man,” Aksai said calmly, “sorry to inform you, but I don’t have any pride as a lone cultivator.”
Arkaal’s brows twitched slightly. Aksai continued speaking casually.
“In fact, it’s strange for any lone cultivator to have pride in the first place. Lone cultivators are known for leaving their honor and dignity at home when they travel the world to seek the Dao in its natural form.”
He shrugged lightly.
“Maybe you were a rare lone cultivator in the past who carried pride and prestige in his heart. But you can’t project your ideals onto me because I’m not you.”
Arkaal’s expression darkened. Aksai ignored it and continued.
“Besides, your challenge isn’t sincere either.”
He pointed toward the dead gu insects behind Arkaal.
“You only stopped using the gu insects because they already became useless to you.”
Then he looked at Arkaal’s empty hands.
“And you giving up Weapon Intent to supposedly give me a handicap doesn’t tempt me at all.”
A faint mocking smile appeared on Aksai’s face.
“I have no reason to fight you head-on just to better myself.”
