Chapter 453: Selling The Crocodile And Gathering Information – 1
Leo stretched lazily and woke up inside his room, his body finally feeling refreshed.
“What time is it?” Leo muttered, checking his phone, and just like he expected, he had woken up around 12. A whole half month of exhaustion had vanished within 6 hours of sleep.
He quickly freshened up and stepped outside the house.
“Damn… What am I even supposed to do now?” Leo muttered, feeling unusually free after such a long time.
As he walked, an elf suddenly caught sight of him.
“Who?!” Her voice rang out in panic because no weak person should have been able to enter without being detected. She immediately drew her bow and aimed at Leo as he slowly came into full view.
Leo yawned and glanced at her.
“Aeila, it’s me. I came back. Now go and prepare some good food for me… a bit extra. I am very hungry.”
Aeila panicked once again and hurriedly lowered her bow, hoping Leo hadn’t noticed it.
“L-L-Lord, welcome back. I will prepare the food right away.” Saying that, she quickly darted away.
While Leo waited for his food on a bench, Sylrael arrived.
“My Lord, welcome back,” she greeted while bowing slightly before proceeding to brief him about everything that had happened during his absence.
According to her, there had been no major events that required Leo’s personal intervention, except for one instance when Tavian came to discuss his territory’s defence layout and strategies related to defence formations, depending on what assistance Leo would send.
“Send three 3-star elves along with Naelith when the time comes.” Leo thought for a while before nodding. “They are more than enough.”
“If I am free during his bounty, I would also like to see what a territory of an Array Master looks like.”
“Did any hooligan trouble you while you went shopping in Aurelius Hall?” Leo asked. Since Sylrael was tasked with managing the territory, she also had to purchase necessary materials. For that, Lily had transferred funds into Brok’s account to help her pay for things, as she wasn’t allowed to keep a money balance as a slave.
“No, Lord. There was no such issue because Sir Brok insisted on buying all the materials himself so as not to trouble me, and since he spends most of his time at Aurelius Hall, he had no trouble doing that.”
“That’s good. When walking around other humans, make sure you have one of the core members from our city with you. That way, any trouble can be avoided. Or if you indeed find yourself alone, I have already allowed you to use force.”
“Thank you.” Sylrael bowed slightly, gratitude visible in her eyes.
By that time, Leo’s food arrived, consisting of pork, bread, soup, and many other dishes steaming with heat.
Leo immediately started stuffing his stomach for nearly half an hour straight. Aeila, who was serving him, was shocked by the amount of food he practically inhaled and had to make many trips back and forth just to keep his plate filled.
After that, Leo found himself inside Aurelius Hall, walking toward a counter. He was busy thinking about other things and didn’t realise he was heading toward the same blonde receptionist again when he found her counter empty.
When the blonde receptionist saw him approaching her counter, a spark of joy appeared in her eyes.
Finally! Looks like he forgot the tiny mistake I made. Hmph! I will forgive him for forgetting my beautiful looks. Just buy and sell things through me, kind sir.
Leo, who had been continuously trying to maintain his [Spiritual Sense], sensed her exact thoughts playing through her mind. Since she was barely a Peak 1-star, it was quite easy for Leo to read her thoughts even with his low skill mastery.
Still, he walked toward her counter with the same distracted expression before looking up at her smiling face. Immediately after, he pretended to be taken aback.
“Oh, wait. I would not like to waste your time again. Excuse me.”
Saying that right to her face, he casually walked toward the white-haired receptionist and waited behind a person who was wrapping up his purchase.
The blonde-haired receptionist felt as if a drought had swept through her entire being.
The man in front of Leo fumbled twice while packing some beast cores into a bag after realising the 1st ranked student was standing behind him.
“I-I am sorry for taking your time.” He immediately apologised for absolutely nothing and hurried out of the hall, even though he clearly still had other things to buy.
“Good afternoon, Sir Leo. How may I help you again?” Layla asked, her tone noticeably more confident compared to their previous interaction.
“I am here to sell a beast corpse, but the size is large, and I don’t think this is an appropriate place to bring it out since it has poison-tipped scales,” Leo said.
Layla nodded without doubting him in the slightest. She was just about to escort him to a private room when the person at the neighbouring counter, unaware of Leo’s identity, scoffed loudly.
“Heh, a beast small enough to fit inside some cheap spatial storage, and you’re making such a big deal out of it. Pathetic person of commoner origins, not even knowing what a truly big beast looks like. See what I hunted!”
The man proudly raised his hand and showed off an expensive spatial ring.
“Look at this! I bought this ring for 500,000 AC, and it has a storage space of 5 cubic meters!”
He waved his hand toward the designated display platform in front of the counters, where beast corpses were presented for evaluation.
Each counter stood around 3 meters apart, with every pair of counters sharing one designated platform for displaying corpses.
Leo was mildly interested in the man’s boasting and decided to indulge him since he had free time on his hands.
But when the corpse appeared, Leo’s interest instantly deflated.
A woolly sheep beast around 3 meters tall and 5 meters long.
