Chapter 400: Chapter 400: Feed the War, Keep Killing!
Gold-edged cutting blades rimmed Logan’s right hand spatial shield. He drove them straight into the energy gap on Crystal Bone’s chest, slicing precisely at his Space Rule core.
Crystal Bone let out a piercing shriek. A web of cracks spread across his crystal chest. A fist-sized ball of silver-white Space Source burst out through the fissures, radiating intense rule fluctuations.
Just as the three seconds were up and Crystal Bone regained his ability to move, Logan had already reached out, grabbed the core, and started pulling him into the familiar world using the Devouring Rule.
Logan dragged Crystal Bone directly onto the orbital path of the Devouring Main Star.
The black vortex patterns on the Devouring Main Star’s surface spun at high speed, releasing a terrifying gravitational pull that held tight onto Crystal Bone’s crystal body.
Logan formed a hand seal. The essence of the Devouring Rule turned into a pitch-black energy shield, wrapping around Crystal Bone’s entire body to forcibly drain his Space Source.
Silver-white energy surged into Logan’s body through his fingertips. The moment it touched his five-spiral DNA, a violent rejection triggered.
Time, Space, Creation, Destruction, and Soul—the five gene chains vibrated simultaneously, clashing fiercely with the newly incoming Space Source.
Logan felt like a burning explosion had been stuffed inside him. Searing pain shot up from his marrow. Blood beads seeped from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose, dripping onto the black ground of the Devouring Main Star. Where they landed, they hissed, slowly corroding the surface.
The cracks in the DNA worsened slightly, entering the early stage of disintegration.
Logan could feel two of the five gene chains trembling, stretched tight like strings on the verge of snapping. He gritted his teeth but refused to stop devouring.
If he let go now, the Core would retaliate instantly, leaving him grievously wounded right there.
Logan channeled the Devouring Rule, which had already reached the Core level. Pitch-black energy wrapped around the chaotic area, forcibly fusing the new Space Source into the outline of a sixth gene chain.
The five-spiral structure reorganized into a six-spiral DNA. The six gene chains—Time, Space, Creation, Destruction, Soul, and Devouring—twisted around each other. The cracks temporarily stabilized, stuck at the early stage of disintegration.
Logan’s aura surged instantly. He had brushed against the threshold of a Super Demigod. However, the six-spiral structure was incredibly unstable; any minor use of energy made it tremble.
Crystal Bone’s crystal body disintegrated completely, turning into pure space energy and absorbed by the Devouring Main Star.
Logan exited the familiar world. As soon as he steadied his footing, he coughed up a mouthful of dark-gold blood. He swayed before regaining his balance.
Just as he defeated Crystal Bone, the energy structure of the Seamless Space Lock developed a tiny fissure. He briefly gained Space Teleport permission, allowing him to move within a small range.
Before he could act, a furious roar erupted from the Origin Devourer in the distance. The Black Hole Domain instantly contracted, its density spiking again. The crushing gravity caused the surrounding rock layers to collapse one by one.
Meanwhile, at the Temple of Destruction in the No. 53 Restricted Zone…
Violet held the Horn of the Sky-Shattering Ancestor. Her golden vertical pupils locked onto the last three remnant suicide soldiers of the Blood River.
Inside the three bodies, the No. 47 Restricted Zone tattoos were fully activated. Black blood vessels pulsed through their skin as they charged recklessly toward the totem pillar, disregarding their lives.
“Sky-Shattering Strike,” Violet ordered coldly.
The Sky-Shattering Chieftain swung his great axe immediately. Three stacked attacks tore through the suicide soldiers’ bodies, smashing those in front into meat paste.
Next, the Flesh Temple Lord released [Endless Sea of Blood].
In an instant, fresh red blood flooded the ground, corroding away all the black blood vessels that had seeped out.
At that moment, the Shadow chairman emerged from the shadows. His skill [Shadow Strangle] locked all fleeing soul fragments, crushing the last traces of black blood completely.
With that, the rebellion was officially quelled.
The black blood vessels surrounding the temple were scrubbed away completely. The golden patterns on the totem pillar flared with light again.
Violet finally exhaled in relief.
Just now, a chaotic fluctuation in Logan’s aura had suddenly appeared in her soul contract.
She could clearly sense the violent rejection in his body’s six-spiral structure, as if he were about to shatter at any moment.
“Quick! Master needs help!”
Without a shred of hesitation, Violet sat cross-legged on the ground. She formed a hand seal and tuned the frequency of the Creative Rule found in the Sky-Splitting Tribe’s royal bloodline, transmitting it backward through the Soul Servant Contract.
Seeing this, the surrounding Sky-Shattering Chieftain, Flesh Temple Lord, and Shadow chairman all copied Violet’s pose. Sitting cross-legged, they silently sent power to Logan.
Seconds ticked by, one by one.
Fine beads of cold sweat formed on Violet’s temples. The purple-gold twin mark on her brow burned with intense heat.
Gritting her teeth, Violet compressed the 30% of the World Core that Logan had previously sent her into a flow of emerald energy. At the very last second before her mind link was completely severed by the Seamless Space Lock, she injected it into Logan’s body.
Immediately, a bone-chilling cold washed through her marrow, as if her entire bloodline had been drained dry.
In the canyon, Logan received this burst of Creation Rule energy. The Creation gene chain within his six-spiral prototype stabilized instantly, and the rejection reaction was temporarily suppressed.
“Finally, I made it!” Violet exhaled, her body swaying as she relied on the Ancestor’s Horn to stay upright. Blood trickled from between her fingers, and her aura had dropped significantly from its peak.
She looked down at the Horn of the Sky-Shattering Ancestor. The cracks had spread from tiny fissures to a third of the way up the horn, and the golden totem patterns had dimmed by nearly half.
Suddenly, a voice rang in Violet’s ear.
“Your temporary state will last for another 25 days,” Clea’s voice came through the communication channel, laced with worry. “The damage to the Sky-Shattering Ancestor’s Horn is irreversible. Be prepared.”
Violet nodded silently.
She turned to the three Sky-Shattering Chieftains standing outside the hall and ordered coldly, “Reinforce the eastern defense line with two thousand more troops. Add three more layers of traps on the west. Report the situation at the Ancient Passage entrance every fifteen minutes.”
Hearing her orders, the three of them stood up immediately to carry them out.
Violet rose, gripping the Horn of the Sky-Shattering Ancestor. She ran her fingertips over the cracks in the horn, her expression completely unreadable.
She looked up toward Black Abyss Canyon, her golden vertical pupils filled with concern. “Master will succeed!”
Violet knew the signal was completely blocked; she could only wait for Logan to return on his own.
Just as Violet was lost in her thoughts, Logan leaned against a rock wall. He felt the stability of his six-spiral prototype within and noticed his aura remained right at the threshold of the Demigod stage.
After devouring one Divine Rule core, his power had doubled, putting him in a great mood. “The crack in the Seamless Space Lock is still slowly widening. That’s enough time to formulate the next tactic.”
“However, the Origin Devourer’s Black Hole Domain has already pushed past the cave entrance. The pitch-black gravitational vortex keeps swallowing the surrounding rocks and could burst in at any moment.”
With that, Logan flashed out of the cave. He was instantly wrapped in thick, gray mist.
The fog smelled foul and felt icy when inhaled, making him cough twice. The phlegm he spat out was flecked with pale gold blood.
The Space Rule fluctuations around him became chaotic, compressing the Data Eye’s scanning range to just ten meters away.
He had only walked two steps when a sharp pain suddenly erupted from the edge of his Soul Sea. It felt like countless tiny teeth were gnawing at the surface of his soul.
“It’s a Soul-Devourer: Faceless!” Clea’s voice suddenly echoed in his mind, weak yet urgent. “That Demigod who controls soul consumption, he has transformed his true form into this mist!”
Logan’s pupils constricted. He could indeed feel his golden scar on the left arm growing hot. Faceless’s Soul attacks were striking precisely at the scar’s location, as if trying to detonate the mark buried beneath it.
With a thought, Logan didn’t retreat. Instead, he advanced, actively expanding his Soul Domain within his familiar world.
Before Faceless in the gray mist could react, he was forcibly dragged into the internal world.
This wasn’t his hunting ground; it was Logan’s home turf.
Inside the domain, a hundred-meter-long whale skeleton, Nyarlathotep, emerged from the gray fog. Gray-white Soul Rule waves enveloped the entire space.
This was the consciousness he had tamed when he previously devoured the corpse of a Demigod-stage whale, specifically designed to counter soul-based attacks.
Logan drew upon the Faith Energy reserves of his familiar world. The Faith Energy flowed through his Soul Sea like a galaxy of stars.
He commanded the Ancestral Spirits girl to mobilize the prayers of hundreds of millions of believers. Golden specks swirled from every corner of the Main Star, forming a dense, flowing river of light.
A Wall of Faith, three hundred meters high and ten meters thick, took shape at the edge of the Soul Sea, perfectly blocking the attack of the Ten Thousand Souls’ Devouring Bite.
The hundred thousand soul teeth gnashed against the Wall of Faith, creating a grating, piercing sound, but not even a single crack appeared.
Faceless finally realized he’d been tricked. Screaming, he tried to escape, but Nyarlathotep’s soul chains had already wrapped around him, binding his misty body tight.
To keep the Wall of Faith stable, Logan had to overdraw a massive amount of World Core. For a moment, the light from the Main Star even dimmed.
His six-spiral DNA was running at overdrive. The cracks in it had reached the critical limit, and his skin cracked like a dried riverbed.
Pale gold blood seeped out from every pore, staining his black robe dark-gold.
For a split second, his mind went blank. He had tried to call out Nyarlathotep’s full name, but the words stuck in his throat. All he could remember was that the creature was a giant whale.
This was a sign of further memory loss; the damage to his Soul Sea was already affecting his memory storage.
His memories were like a shattered mirror. Certain fragments were now too broken to reflect any image.
Faceless was still struggling wildly. His misty body kept expanding, trying to snap the soul chains.
Logan gritted his teeth. With his right hand, he formed the gray-white Chains of the Soul and drove them straight through the core light point at the center of Faceless’s mist.
The Devouring Rule activated simultaneously. Faceless’s soul core was forcibly ripped away, turning into pure gray energy that surged into Logan’s body.
His Soul Rule was instantly upgraded to the Core level. The area of his Soul Sea expanded by nearly one-third. However, tiny cracks still remained on the surface, occasionally sending sharp stings through him.
Faceless let out a final, heartbreaking shriek. His entire misty body disintegrated completely, leaving not a single soul fragment behind.
Logan exited his familiar world. He leaned against the rock wall, gasping for air. Golden blood flowed from his fingertips, dripping to the ground and eating away small holes in the black rock.
