Apocalypse Gachapon - Chapter 2001: Ask you a few questions

“It was a pity about Ah Bing. Although his combat strength wasn’t strong, his control was very effective. Without him, coordinating during future operations will be a bit troublesome.”
The speaker was the waiter who had previously attacked Jie Su and Ye Zhongming in the restaurant.
In a room, he was changing clothes. Although their ambush was very quick, and they even forced the targets into an alley before the task was completed, their time on the battlefield was short. However, they still had to be cautious. To set an example, Starshine City’s public security was quite good. If they were targeted by the guard force here, they wouldn’t be able to leave.
After changing clothes and assuming their previous identities, they needed to leave immediately.
One could imagine what an uproar would erupt among the cosmic races when the attack in Starshine City became publicly known, especially since the dead included this year’s Novice first place and a direct descendant young talent of the Su Clan.
It was even possible that the entire city would be locked down. If they didn’t leave now, there would be no chance; their identities couldn’t withstand scrutiny.
“Actually, the four of us could have handled the targets ourselves inside the restaurant, but we had to follow the plan and drive them into the back alley, causing us to lose one member. Low status really isn’t good.”
The person who could previously emit flames all over his body said self-deprecatingly, while packing up and wiping away traces.
The four of them weren’t a particularly strong combination within the organization. However, with the dual ice and fire attributes, plus the waiter skilled in assassination and setup, and the Four Blades skilled in strong assaults, their strength completely overwhelmed the targets of this operation.
Their names were their respective characteristics, which was also a rule within the organization, unless one could become a high-ranking member.
“Although the two targets aren’t particularly strong in terms of strength, their reputations are huge. One is a direct descendant of the Su Clan, who has mastered most of the power of the top ten formation, the Silk Sea Light Formation, a rising star gradually gaining importance. The other is this year’s Novice battlefield champion, who set a historic points record and is watched by countless people.”
The waiter finished packing and looked at the other two as he continued; “Targets like these, even if their strength is lacking, have reputations. Killing them personally can bring unexpected benefits, and in the future, it will be a prominent achievement on our record. Do you think such a good thing could fall to us?”
As the leader of the four-person team, the waiter saw things more clearly.
“Then why didn’t they act directly, and needed us to go first?”
The speaker was the four-armed giant. His huge frame felt somewhat cramped in the room, and his voice was muffled.
“The targets still had eight guards around them. You saw how fiercely they protected the targets. If we acted directly in the restaurant, the chance of something going wrong was too high. If they escaped, it would be difficult for them to leave.”
“And!” The waiter checked the time, felt there was still time, and continued: “Their attack methods aren’t very suitable for chaotic battles. Whether it’s the Armored Thorn Race’s invisibility, or Qiemen’s control tactics, once activated, they are okay against single targets, but they are weaker against group targets.”
Hearing the waiter say this, the other two nodded. Their abilities did have a somewhat irreplaceable flavor within the organization.
“After returning, go check the reserve camp more. If there’s someone whose abilities can compensate for Ah Bing, recruit him into our team.”
The waiter added; this matter was the top priority.
“Alright, Four Blades, same as usual later. Ah Huo and I will take a passenger ship; you take a cargo ship.”
Seeing that preparations were almost done and traces were cleaned up, the waiter was about to leave with the two others. But upon opening the door, all three were collectively horrified to see a person in a black long robe standing at the door.
They had been extremely careful before; whether on the way here or just now in the room, they had fully activated their senses, constantly probing the surroundings.
With their experience, there was definitely no danger.
Heaven knows how this person appeared here, or when he appeared, or how much of their conversation he heard.
However, the three were well-trained high-level assassins. Almost simultaneously with their shock, they attacked.
No matter how this person came, one thing was certain: he was a foe, not a friend.
“I want to ask you a few questions.” That person suddenly spoke, his hands parted left and right, and an invisible energy wall appeared in front of him, blocking the three people’s attacks.
The three assassins were even more shocked. Although they attacked hastily, and their attack power was far from their peak, it wasn’t something an ordinary person could block. Yet this person blocked it so effortlessly?
“What questions do you want to ask?”
Finding the opponent very powerful, the waiter immediately changed his strategy. He secretly made a gesture to his two companions that only they understood, then took two steps back and asked.
Since this person was blocking the door and they couldn’t charge out, it was better to see what he wanted first.
“Who are you? Which organization do you belong to? Who is the leader of your organization? Who is behind it? How many people came here this time? Who are they? Where are they? And your organization’s situation and all the member lists you know.”
A series of questions made the faces of the waiter and the other two change.
These were not things they could answer. Not only was their knowledge limited, but even if they knew everything, these things could not be spoken. Otherwise, they would die without a burial place.
“I think we cannot answer your questions.”
As he spoke, the waiter suddenly moved his body aside. Four Blades, who had been secretly building up his power behind him, launched his attack!
This time was different from before. Four Blades had just casually swung one blade last time. This time, he used all four blades. Although it didn’t reach the powerful momentum he had at the restaurant entrance, it could still be called terrifying, especially in this enclosed space. The energy impact brought by the blade momentum was almost impossible to dodge.
“You could have answered my questions properly and then died properly. Why struggle?” This person said, his hand movements indiscernible, only four slight sounds were heard, and Four Blades’ attack was neutralized entirely.
Then, a faint palm shadow appeared on Four Blades’ chest and imprinted onto it.
The sound was still not loud, just a pfft. Four Blades’ body swayed, his huge head lowered, looking incredulously at the palm print on the armor on his chest. Then his whole body rapidly turned red, and two seconds later, with a bang, his entire body exploded.
This scene made the other two tremble with fear. This was… an instant kill, right? What level of overwhelming strength was needed for this to happen?
The waiter suddenly gasped, subconsciously saying: “Librarian?!”
That person raised his head for the first time and said softly: “You shouldn’t have said that.”
