Apocalypse Gachapon - Chapter 2021: Second 10 million

Library Palace.
Zizi Kaba sat in front of the Old Dean, quietly waiting.
Those dissatisfied with the cosmic races and their recent circumstances were far more than just Ye Zhongming, Jie Kui, White Robe, and those people.
Zizi Kaba was also dissatisfied. So one year, in the Library Palace, a place he thought was detached from worldly strife, he inadvertently revealed his true feelings. After over a decade of contact, he became an outside agent for the Library Palace. After another five years, he became the leader of the outside agents.
The responsibilities he handled were simple to describe but difficult to execute—everything the Library Palace needed him to do.
Today, Zizi Kaba brought a message, a message very important to both the Library Palace and himself.
Concerning Darkstrip City, concerning the Star-Eye Clan, concerning Ye Zhongming.
Zizi Kaba actually knew that the Library Palace had another line on the outside. But who was responsible for it, who the members were, he completely didn’t know. But this wasn’t a threat to him because the Old Dean had proactively told him about it, while also informing him that, apart from overlapping in certain intelligence aspects, both sides had their respective tasks in other areas.
He didn’t know if the other line had transmitted this message back, but since he knew it had, he must bring it over at the earliest moment.
Because that Novice who came from Earth was the person the Library Palace truly placed their bets on.
“The little fellow seems to be having a rather tough time.”
The Old Dean looked and chuckled, as if the difficulties the Star-Eye Clan currently faced were nothing.
But indeed, it was like this. Those problems could be solved with just a breath from the Library Palace.
“This is a consistent method of some races. They believe more in that set of ‘survival of the fittest’ rather than uniting all forces to find the true way out.”
The Old Dean laughed upon hearing this, knowing Zizi Kaba was dissatisfied with many things about the Ten Thousand Races of the universe in his heart.
“In that case, take ten million Moonspan Gold and deliver it to him, to help him overcome this difficult time.”
Zizi Kaba nodded in agreement, then said, “Could we try solving it with other methods? Although the Library Palace has money, giving him so much again in such a short time, isn’t it a bit inappropriate?”
Zizi Kaba was half student, half friend to the Old Dean, so his speech had relatively fewer reservations. He said this not because he didn’t want to give Ye Zhongming money, but because he feared the danger of attracting trouble due to possessing treasure.
The Old Dean shook his head. “That kid knows what he’s doing. I estimate he can solve this problem himself. Sending him money, on one hand, is to tell him the Library Palace is his strong backing. On the other hand, it’s also hoping he can develop and grow quickly, not be hindered by small fry.”
Zizi Kaba heard this and said, “Alright then, I’ll send someone to deliver the money to him.”
“Hmm,” the Old Dean nodded, then said: “By the way, tell that kid one more sentence.”
“Get things done quickly. When that time comes, even if he pokes a hole in the sky, someone will hold it up for him.”
………………………………
Ye Zhongming had no idea the Library Palace’s intelligence was so sharp, learning about the grievance he just suffered over there.
He intended to resolve this matter on his own terms.
What he needed most now was actually time. As long as he was given time, he had absolute confidence he could make those guys in Darkstrip City be finished.
But now he couldn’t face his opponents head-on. Both he and the Star-Eye Clan were too weak.
After he met with the two clan leaders, Cheng Liujin became the point of contact for the City Committee. The Gold Camp Order Leader was much more tactful in handling interpersonal relations than others.
Watching Cheng Liujin host banquets for some people, flatter some people, and then send out large amounts of Moonspan Gold, both White Robe and Ye Zhongming felt uncomfortable.
But this was also unavoidable. The Star-Eye Clan necessarily had to go through such a stage of enduring hardships.
Cheng Liujin’s efforts were not without effect. Although there was no room for negotiation regarding the land price and the city guard matters, at least in the investigation of the Xuehuo people attack, no one would make things difficult for the Star-Eye Clan anymore.
Of course, the bloodletting wasn’t reduced at all; another one hundred thousand Moonspan Gold was sent out.
Ye Zhongming couldn’t help but sigh at this time: he fought desperately to get first place among Novices, yet the prize was only ten thousand Moonspan Gold. Compared to these vampire-like races, it truly amounted to nothing.
After buying the land with two and a half million Moonspan Gold, Ye Zhongming did not rush to invest in construction. He truly had no spare money for that now. He simply had people roughly fence it off, then planted some ordinary crops.
Afterwards, Ye Zhongming anonymously posted some tasks in Darkstrip City. These tasks seemed very insignificant, all minor matters, small assassinations, etc. The posters, posting dates, reward amounts, etc., were all different. To outsiders, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
But Ye Zhongming knew that as these small tasks were continuously completed, Darkstrip City would gradually become chaotic, yet not in a major way. But at least it could keep the Eight Powers and the two city guard armies running around in circles.
That way, they wouldn’t have much time to think about the Star-Eye Clan.
Perhaps they would continue sucking blood, but Ye Zhongming wasn’t afraid. What he cared about was merely time.
These bounties wouldn’t bring him any benefits now, but they could give him what he needed most—time.
The selection of new recruits for the Bronze Camp proceeded very smoothly. The quota of over two thousand was completely filled within just two days, successfully forming the Bronze Eleventh Thousand-person Team. They would undergo an intensive training period of one hundred days.
Afterwards, fifty Bronze Camp warriors and another fifty warriors from the clan left the Star-Eye Clan for the Library Palace. Aslan was among them.
When these people returned, their strength would greatly increase.
With the various techniques and skills Ye Zhongming brought back from the Library Palace, the entire Bronze Camp immersed itself in intense cultivation, rapidly improving their respective strengths.
Ye Zhongming was the same. He cultivated while manufacturing equipment, honing his skills. Now, his success rate for manufacturing one piece of Red Condensation-grade equipment had already exceeded seventy percent.
This was a rather terrifying figure. At least based on Ye Zhongming’s understanding during this period, apart from the few top-tier craftsmen among the Taros Red Dwarves, no one could achieve this success rate.
The manufactured Red Condensation-grade equipment naturally couldn’t be released into the market in large quantities. Besides lowering prices, that would also draw the attention of the Taros Red Dwarves.
So they would only occasionally release one or two pieces at that shop in Darkstrip City, and the largest city of this survivor fortress. The public explanation was undoubtedly the Star-Eye Clan’s stockpile, sold off because the clan was in difficulty.
For a small clan, taking out a few pieces of Red Condensation-grade equipment wasn’t considered anything strange.
The rest, Ye Zhongming kept a portion as rewards for the Bronze Camp. He gave another portion to the clan; how they used it, he didn’t intervene. Also, he naturally sent some down to Earth. The remaining ones were all given to Helsky, letting him sell them through various channels.
As for the second ten million sent by the Library Palace, Ye Zhongming himself had no immediate use for it. Instead, he allocated two million to Helsky. What he was doing there, besides selling Ye Zhongming’s goods, required a large amount of capital.
Counting the days, Ye Zhongming knew he should set off for the Su Race. But there was one matter he needed to settle before leaving. This was also the biggest reason he didn’t go to the Su Race with Jie Su.
He wanted to kill people in Darkstrip City.
