Armipotent - Chapter 2177: Soul Entrapment

Chapter 2177: Soul Entrapment
Tang Shaoyang’s domain covered the whole city, sharpening his perception. He could sense anything that moved in the city, whether they were cultivators or civilians.
Radiant Blossom City was a big city with a high population. He estimated more than twenty thousand people, including the cultivators and the civilians in total, maybe even more than that. Yet the Murim Alliance chose to sacrifice them just to contain him with the Heaven Founder and the Demonic Faction.
Tang Shaoyang didn’t like getting the innocents dragged into his battle, or even dying because of the impact of his battle. However, he was not going to put himself at a disadvantage just to avoid it.
He could try to break the formation and bring the battle somewhere else, but that would put him in a more vulnerable position against Alderman Fiodor. He was facing a former Executive Administrator, after all. A little opening might be fatal for him, especially when he had no information about Alderman.
That was why he was not going his way just to save these people, and he was not going to hold back. They were not his people; it was not his obligation to protect them.
“What are you guys doing!? Do it now!”
Alderman Fiodor was startled that Tang Shaoyang would go all out right from the start. He had heard about the domain, even though he didn’t have information about what the domain did. But one thing was for sure: Tang Shaoyang never lost when this domain was used. That was why he panicked as he failed to buy time for the demonic cultivators.
That was when ancient writing glowed on the ground. Those writings came from nine different directions, heading toward Tang Shaoyang.
Avyn tried to create an ice wall, attempting to block the writing, but it was not something that could be blocked physically. It went through the thin ice wall.
Zara also tried to twist the space in the path of the writing, but again, it didn’t stop the ancient text from approaching Tang Shaoyang.
The ancient writing stopped half a meter before touching Tang Shaoyang, and altogether, those nine writings formed an intricate circle right below Tang Shaoyang. It was then followed by dreadful energy that burst out from those circles. A dark-violet aura shot up to the sky, like a pillar reaching toward the cloud. It was momentarily, as the aura dissipated quickly.
Avyn and Zara exchanged glances, wondering what happened. They thought something bad would happen when those texts reached Tang Shaoyang, but that was it. They were confused for a moment, but then they quickly noticed something weird.
Tang Shaoyang just stood frozen there, not moving or reacting to the weird attack.
“Are you okay?” Zara asked, but there was no response.
Both women quickly moved to the front of Tang Shaoyang, and they noticed something in Tang Shaoyang’s eyes. His crimson eyes went blank, unfocused. It was like someone who passed out with his eyes open.
Zara tried to shake Tang Shaoyang’s body, yet he didn’t react to her. That was when she remembered what Tang Shaoyang talked about, Soul Cultivation. She and Avyn quickly understood the situation.
“We will protect him! Look for the people who use those weird skills!”
That order was meant for Gianni and the others, thinking that was the only way for Tang Shaoyang to come back.

Tang Shaoyang was curious what kind of Soul Technique these Demonic Cultivators would use against him. That was what he didn’t dodge, even though he could.
He expected them to trap him inside his own Soul Palace, and it happened. There was this strange force, sucking his consciousness forcefully into his Soul Palace.
He could resist it, and in fact, he could ward this technique off, but he accepted it. Even though it would leave his body vulnerable, he was not worried in the slightest with Avyn and Zara next to him. He let it happen.
He stood in the green field area, and it was always comforting each time he was in his Soul Palace. But that comforting sensation quickly changed as hostility filled his Soul Palace.
The rage didn’t affect him because it was not his rage, even though it was his Soul Palace. He guessed it was the Demonic Cultivator. They put something inside his Soul Palace with their technique, which caused the change in this atmosphere.
It was more than just an entrapment. They also tried to corrupt his Soul Palace. That was his first guess until he found out where the fierce hostility came from, and he was shocked to find out where it came from. Those intense hostilities came from the creatures he created.
He was baffled and confused for a moment, but he understood why they were mad. It is because of the nine intruders inside his Soul Palaces. That was right, nine more consciousnesses were entering his Soul Palace at the same time his consciousness was forcefully sucked.
Tang Shaoyang could sense nine of them as they got separated into four different areas. Three of them were in the sea area, two of them were in the black volcanic area, another two were in the snow region, and the last two were in a chaotic area to the south.
To his creatures, the Soul Palace was their home, their territory. Those nine cultivators who entered his Soul Palace by force were considered as invaders, and they didn’t like those invaders with the hostility they showed.
Tang Shaoyang rubbed his chin, then he closed his eyes. He could pinpoint where the intruders were, and there was this sensation that he could do something to these intruders. It felt like those nine cultivators were part of his Soul Palace, and he had the authority to expel them.
He could do it, but his curiosity got him curious about what these creatures would do to the invaders. He could throw them out of his Soul Palace, but he decided not to. He decided to wait to see what his creatures would do to these invaders.
Tang Shaoyang sat and closed his eyes, putting his focus on his Soul Palace. The fish and other sea creatures moved toward the three demonic cultivators. The giant octopus came out from its home, and the swordfish, for the first time, moved together, heading toward them. Even the harmless-looking fish moved in the same direction.
An anticipation built up in Tang Shaoyang, wondering what they were going to do.
