Tang Shaoyang had been keeping a watch on his sea creatures. Still, the first one to meet the invader was the creatures residing in the snowy region.
A pair of polar bears, at least, that was his intention when he created the twelve-meter white-furred creature. The Arctic Owl, Arctic Fox, and his penguins were on the move as well.
His penguin glided on the snow as if they were swimming in the water. They were the first ones to reach the two invaders who tried to analyze his Soul Palace.
His white penguin had a blade-like flipper and was as sharp as an actual sword. The two invaders didn’t notice the incoming penguin because they had the same color as the snow. The white snow coat acted as camouflage, and they only noticed the penguin when it lunged toward them.
Using the flippers as their weapons, they intended to cut the two invaders’ necks. But the two Soul Cultivators reacted in time. The flipper only grazed their neck, leaving a shallow cut.
The two demonic cultivators came as a soul, an ethereal form. However, they bled when their necks were cut. The two invaders visibly panicked as they looked around to find the attacker, but the penguin already camouflaged themselves with the snow.
The two invaders weren’t aware that they were surrounded by a big family of penguins. There were fifteen penguins, surrounding them, hiding in plain sight. The penguins were lying low as the two invaders became cautious after the initial ambush.
The two were looking around, trying to find their attackers. That was when a snowstorm rose, sweeping the area with fury. The Arctic Owl arrived, and they created the snowstorm.
Four shadows could be seen inside the snowstorms, a shadow that resembled a wolf. The Arctic Fox also arrived, and screams echoed inside the snowstorm. The penguin made their move as well under the cover of the snowstorm.
The two demonic cultivators tried to fight back, but they were quickly put down by the penguins and the fox.
The snowstorm lasted for around two minutes before it calmed down because the Arctic Owl had already left the area. As the storm calmed down, a scene was revealed.
One demonic cultivator was on the ground, shredded into pieces. The second one was frozen, but he also lost a big chunk of its flesh.
Tang Shaoyang could sense the Ethereal Frost from the ice that froze the second demonic cultivator. The same with the snowstorm, he could see the essence of the Ethereal Frost used to create the storm.
He realized that the creatures he created could use his Elemental Power as well. It seemed the seed of his power was planted into them when he created them, or maybe there was more to it.
’I don’t think Han Taiyang and Ouyang Biya can tell me anything about it…’
He was a special case as he was a God Rank before a cultivator, and it seemed that becoming a God Rank gave a positive influence on his cultivation, especially his Soul Palace. All the skills he learned up till now influenced his Soul Palace, positively as of now.
As his mind was distracted, he sensed something, something that tugged him, as if asking for his attention. It came from the snowy region where the two invaders were defeated.
The pair of polar bears arrived at the scene, and they exchanged a greeting with the penguin and fox. The battle was over, and the invaders were taken care of. The three creatures went their separate ways.
The tugging sensation didn’t come from his creature, but from the two invaders. He could sense their presences were fading. Even though his creatures defeated them, the two demonic cultivators didn’t actually die, but their souls were damaged for sure after that fight.
The tugging sensation was coming from the two dissipating souls. That was when he found out that he could actually stop the soul from leaving his Soul Palace.
The sensation came from his own Soul Palace. As if it was telling him to stop the souls from leaving his Soul Palace. This was when he realized that his Soul Palace actually had a will, and his Soul Palace wanted him to keep these souls.
The same, when he had the authority to expel the invaders, he had the ability to stop them from leaving as well. He didn’t know what his Soul Palaces wanted from these souls, but he decided to follow their will.
Tang Shaoyang’s figure disappeared and appeared on the floating island. He grabbed the dissipating soul, and at the same time, he created a prison. After the prison was made, the two dissipating souls materialized inside the prison.
Ji Chen and Jiang Hao were confused when they materialized inside the prison. They tried to understand what happened until they saw Tang Shaoyang at the other side of the prison. They recognized Tang Shaoyang and were shocked.
“What happens?” Jiang Hao blurted in confusion.
Their consciousness was destroyed by the guardian of the Soul Palace. They were caught off guard, not expecting the guardian from a soul palace who just started cultivating. Not just that, those guardians were quite strong to be able to defeat them so quickly.
They accepted their fate of their souls getting damaged after that defeat, but they were not expecting to be locked inside the prison.
Tang Shaoyang was about to say something in response, but then a similar sensation tugged him again. It was from the chaotic region in the south.
As he guessed, his Soul Palace had a will, and it was manipulating the chaotic region. One of the demonic cultivators was shoved into the void, and the second one fell into twisted space, breaking into pieces.
Tang Shaoyang grabbed those two souls and put them inside the same prison. Not long after, he noticed the tugging sensation coming from the east region, the volcanic region. That was when he witnessed the two demonic cultivators’ souls being burned by the volcano.
He grabbed them and put them inside the prison. After putting the fifth and the sixth invaders into the prison, his attention was attracted toward the west region, the ocean.
He witnessed another soul getting pierced by the swordfish, and the second one was dragged into the water before getting crushed by the tentacle.
The last one gave some resistance, but a company of tuna shot him down under the barrage of water bullets.
He didn’t know where that ability came from, and he was surprised that his tuna could shoot water bullets like a machine gun. Tang Shaoyang grabbed the last three souls and put them into the same prison.
The nine demonic cultivators were in a prison right now, bewildered in confusion.
“What did you do to us!?” one of them raised their voice.
Tang Shaoyang himself didn’t know what he did. It was just like a sensation, telling him how to do it, and he followed that feeling, which ended up grabbing their souls. He actually didn’t know how it worked.
“We should leave! We can’t win against those guardians!” Deng Yi shouted, “We have bought enough time. If the Alderman failed to kill him, it’s not our fault!” The other eight demonic cultivators agreed with Deng Yi, nodding at his proposal.
Tang Shaoyang was at a loss. It seemed they could leave whenever they wanted. That was what he got based on their conversation.
He didn’t know what to do in this situation. He wanted to stop them from leaving, but again, he didn’t know how. So there was no choice but to wait and see.
Tang Shaoyang stood in front of the prison, waiting. But then none of the demonic cultivators left the prison. He thought it would take time, but then he saw their expressions. That was when he realized that they actually could not leave his Soul Palace.
“We can’t leave!?”
Tao Ming was flabbergasted when he found out that they could not leave this Soul Palace. That was when he realized that he could not use his internal energy. He tried to use a Soul Technique, but nothing happened.
He was confused, but that confusion quickly turned into anger as he realized it was something Tang Shaoyang did to them.
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO US!?” He shouted to the top of his lungs and lunged toward Tang Shaoyang, grabbing the prison rail.
But the moment his hand grabbed the rail of the prison, he was electrocuted with black lightning, and then his body was bounced backward.
Tang Shaoyang didn’t remember adding that feature to his cell. That must be the will of his Soul Palace, which added that feature. That confirmed his guess that his Soul Palace actually had a will.
The remaining eight demonic cultivators were sending vile curses at Tang Shaoyang, telling him to release them.
Tang Shaoyang ignored the nonsense and focused on his own Soul Palace. He tried to communicate with his Soul Palace.
’What do you want me to do with these people?’
He expected a response, but there was no response. He tried again and again, but it was futile.
Tang Shaoyang would like to figure out what happened, but this was not the right time for that. He still had a battle against Alderman and the Heaven Founder. He left his Soul Palace after he didn’t get the response he wanted from his Soul Palace.
