Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground - Chapter 1699 Dead

Atticus’ katana flashed forward in an absolute thrust. The abyss god saw his life flash before his eyes. Instinctively, his will churned violently as he invoked.
“Shadow Warp!”
He blurred to the side, but not before the katana pierced through his left shoulder and burst out in an explosion of flames and burnt flesh. Flesh sizzled as dark smoke curled from the wound.
“Shit—!”
The abyss god’s face twisted in pain, but he froze the instant he met Atticus’ cold gaze. Those eyes stared at him as though he was already a corpse.
Suddenly, a shout tore through the haze.
“Hold him! Don’t let that bastard move!”
Atticus’ gaze sharpened as the Willguard burst from the smoke behind him. He tried to pull back, however, the abyss god abruptly gripped the blade of his katana tightly. He instantly dispersed his will. His arms sizzled from the contact, yet the determination in his eyes only deepened.
“…you’re not going anywhere.”
Atticus’ gaze constricted. However, the Willguard declared without the slightest hesitation.
“Chain of Judgment!”
His will condensed behind him, forming an ethereal door that snapped open instantly. From its abyss-black depths, golden chains shot outward, wrapping around Atticus in an instant. The moment they touched his crimson will, they sizzled violently before rapidly growing larger and thicker as they coiled tighter around him. The next moment, Atticus’ will suddenly began to shrink beneath the chains’ constriction.
As Atticus furrowed his brows, the Willguard’s eyes glinted coldly.
‘It’s over.’
Origin will or not, Chain of Judgment was the aspect ability he had cultivated for millennia, and its strength was unmatched. Once it locked onto a will, the chains would absorb that will to grow even stronger. The more will the target expended, the stronger the chains became and the harder they bound them.
There was no escape.
With this, the battle had already ended.
Suddenly, the crimson will around Atticus vanished. The Willguard frowned slightly before sneering.
‘It’s useless.’
Atticus was clearly trying to stop the chains’ effect by ceasing the use of his will. However, the chains had already fed on it. Even if he stopped using it now, they were already locked onto him. And without will empowering him, how could he possibly withstand the chains’ strength?
A cold voice suddenly rippled from Atticus.
“Absolute Domain.”
A ripple exploded outward as the purple cloak around Atticus blazed violently. The next moment, multiple wills across the battlefield surged toward him.
The Willguard’s eyes nearly bulged from their sockets.
“What!?”
Was he… was he manipulating other wills?
But he wasn’t given even a moment to process it. The wills harmonized within Atticus, and in the next instant, a pillar of multicolored light erupted from him, blasting the chains apart.
His muscles tightened, veins bulging across his skin as an overwhelming surge of power roared through his body.
Atticus narrowed his glowing eyes toward the arm gripping his blade, and the abyss god felt his heart seize. He had released his will so the chains’ effect wouldn’t affect him. Without it, he was powerless!
“W-wait! WAIT, HOLD ON—!”
But Atticus didn’t wait. He applied only the slightest pressure, and his katana tore horizontally through the abyss god’s body.
As black blood splattered across the chaotic skies, the Willguard’s gaze trembled.
‘What… what is this child…’
Atticus had simply abandoned the use of his own will and instead chosen to control the wills of others. That someone could manipulate other wills within the Crown sounded utterly insane. Impossible. Yet it had happened right before him.
Atticus suddenly turned, his cold gaze landing on him. The Willguard instantly felt an intense chill pierce through his body. It felt as though a predator had just locked onto its prey.
‘I’m the predator! Not him…’
The Willguard gritted his teeth in anger. For him to feel this way because of a child… Atticus wasn’t even a century old! His gaze narrowed as his thoughts moved rapidly.
‘He’s slower.’
Atticus’ will was indeed of a far higher quality than theirs, however, the same couldn’t be said for the wills he had just taken control of. They were significantly weaker, which in turn made the overwhelming gap between their ranks relevant once more.
The Willguard’s eyes suddenly blazed as he roared.
“OVERWHELM HIM, NOW!”
His voice reverberated across the entire region. The next moment, the Nature and Spirit gods flashed forward, surrounding Atticus from both sides.
Their gazes burned with fierce bloodlust. In unison, their wills detonated, swallowing the surrounding space. They condensed all of it into their weapons, each strike descending toward Atticus like a meteor.
Trying to utilize his own will would bring the chains back onto him. And without his will, bridging the gap between them should have been nigh impossible. Yet, if Atticus felt even the slightest hesitation, he didn’t show it. His expression remained indifferent as he slowly sheathed his katana.
An overwhelming flood of force surged toward him, converging with such terrifying intensity that his body erupted in blinding light. The air around him vibrated as he lowered himself into a stance.
The attacks reached him.
Atticus’ head snapped upward, his eyes blazing brilliantly.
He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, a deafening roar suddenly tore through the skies, shaking the entire region to its core.
Every eye snapped upward.
A giant opened maw descended from the heavens.
Atticus’ gaze narrowed sharply, but before he could react, the Reverent King swallowed him whole.
Appearing in the distance, the Willguard, Spirit god, and Nature god stared at the Reverent King now soaring through the skies with stunned expressions.
“That thing… it swallowed him, right?” the Nature god asked in disbelief.
“…yes. I saw it too.” the Spirit god answered, though even his gaze remained fixed cautiously on the Reverent.
“Then what now? Do we just stand here and pray the oversized lizard finishes chewing?”
“No.” The Willguard shook his head, his serious gaze locked onto the Reverent King. “…you sound awfully calm.”
“Because it’s over. Right now, the primal will is tearing through him. Not even a trueblood at the same level could survive that corruption.”
The other two narrowed their eyes before slowly nodding in understanding. The Crown Will was known for its overwhelming strength and absolute authority, but primal will was feared for something entirely different, its ability to corrupt any will it touched. It was why even after killing Reverents, no one dared absorb their primal will.
The raw will would corrode a god’s will until nothing remained except an empty shell. There was no escaping it.
Slowly, smiles spread across the faces of the remaining Executioners.
What insane luck.
Finally, Atticus Ravenstein was dead.
