Chapter 161: Chapter 127: The Slumbering Giant Monster (Part 2)
He spoke while jumping to the ground: “Did you guys take care of all these Blast Flame Lizard Monsters?”
Chang Yuhuan smiled slightly and pointed to Chen Yuan beside her: “To be more precise, he took care of them.”
She witnessed the entire fierce battle, as Cola rushed into the group of Blast Flame Lizard Monsters, darting back and forth, continuously launching Wind Blades, and soon defeated these creatures.
Spark’s battle against the Blast Flame Lizard Monsters was even more devastating, with Flame Surge and Flame Energy Assault unleashed repeatedly, like an unrelenting bombing machine, leaving the latter almost powerless to resist.
It seems every mid-tier Beastmaster is this formidable.
Upon hearing Chang Yuhuan’s answer, Liu Jinglan’s eyes flickered as he first walked around the fallen Blast Flame Lizard Monsters, marveling, before approaching Chen Yuan and extending his right hand: “I’m Liu Jinglan, how should I address you?”
“Chen Yuan.” Chen Yuan shook hands with him.
Chen Yuan…
Liu Jinglan searched his mind for this name but quickly shook his head.
He had never heard of this name in the Beast Taming Academy or the Association, evidently an outsider Beastmaster.
And clearly a very powerful Beastmaster.
He didn’t need to closely observe the Flame Cloud Falcon and Gale Hunting Dog’s condition; just from the fallen Blast Flame Lizard Monsters alone, he could easily reach this conclusion.
“That Blast Flame Lizard Monster is quite large, likely Tier Two strength, along with a group of Tier One Blast Flame Lizard Monsters, which ordinary Tier Two Pet Beasts would struggle to handle.”
“Looks like this Chen Yuan is a mid-tier Beastmaster.”
Concluding this, Liu Jinglan instantly developed an interest in befriending: “Friend, would you be interested in a Pet Beast battle?”
Chen Yuan was taken aback.
He now noticed something peculiar: many Beastmasters, as soon as they locked eyes, would naturally utter a phrase—”Would you like a Pet Beast battle?”
It’s like they’re pre-programmed NPCs.
Liu Jingyi quickly tugged Liu Jinglan’s sleeve, reminding him quietly: “Brother, aren’t you noticing the current situation?”
Liu Jinglan snapped out of it, showing an apologetic smile, but simply changed his approach: “When you have time, let’s have a thrilling Pet Beast battle then.”
Chen Yuan was noncommittal, merely saying, “Thank you for coming all this way to lend a hand.”
“Oh, we Beastmasters should help each other out in the wild,” Liu Jinglan replied casually, then glanced at the fallen group of Blast Flame Lizard Monsters, squinting as he asked, “What are you planning to do with them?”
Chen Yuan pondered: “This group of Blast Flame Lizard Monsters is strange. We clearly didn’t provoke them, yet they inexplicably launched an attack.”
Liu Jinglan nodded thoughtfully: “Maybe it has something to do with the previous Pet Beast upheaval.”
“Pet Beast upheaval?” Chen Yuan asked in confusion.
“Yes.” Liu Jinglan nodded slightly, speculating, “Some unknown occurrence happened in the previous area, causing many Pet Beasts to be agitated and flee outward. Perhaps this group of Blast Flame Lizard Monsters encountered you during their escape and thought you were blocking the way, thus the conflict arose.”
Chen Yuan’s lips twitched.
This reasoning seemed hard to believe, yet often it might be the correct answer.
A thought flashed by, and he turned to look at Chang Yuhuan, who was busy snapping photos of the Blast Flame Lizard Monsters’ faces with her camera, saying: “Let’s find another place to camp.”
Chang Yuhuan didn’t turn around: “Okay, okay, wait for me.”
“Let’s join you too; it’ll be nice to have some company tonight,” Liu Jinglan suggested.
Chen Yuan glanced at Liu Jinglan, hesitated for a moment, then nodded: “Alright.”
The group packed their belongings and moved to a different area to camp and rest.
Overhead, at Flame Mountain, the clouds were thin, and lifting one’s gaze revealed a disc-like moon and countless stars.
After the earlier events, none of the four felt sleepy, sitting around the campfire for idle chat and discussion.
“Is this a Fiery Flame Eagle?” Chen Yuan’s attention was on the little creature in Liu Jingyi’s arms, “Can I touch it?”
“Of course you can.”
The Fiery Flame Eagle in Liu Jingyi’s arms was sleeping soundly. Chen Yuan carefully stretched out his right hand and gently stroked the hard feathers.
Hmm, the sensation wasn’t great, not as smooth as Spark’s fur.
But as the system upgrade sound chimed, with two Source Points gained, Chen Yuan’s face lit up with a radiant smile: “Such a cute little creature.”
“That’s for sure.” Liu Jingyi slightly lifted her head, her dark eyes twinkling, “This is my hard-earned initial Pet Beast.”
Liu Jinglan smirked, bluntly debunking: “So, finding a Fiery Flame Eagle by the roadside can be considered hard-earned.”
“Oh, brother! How could you say that!” Liu Jingyi put her hands on her hips, glaring at Liu Jinglan.
While taking photos of the Fiery Flame Eagle, Chang Yuhuan looked up and asked: “Are you siblings?”
Liu Jinglan nodded, then pointed to his younger sister: “Liu Jingyi, a high school sophomore, who just became an initial-tier Beastmaster yesterday and dragged me to Flame Mountain to find a suitable initial Pet Beast.”
“All along the way, various Pet Beasts couldn’t satisfy her until she happened upon a Fiery Flame Eagle.”
“It’s destined fate; this little creature was born to meet me, then strive together to become the strongest Beastmaster.” Liu Jingyi lowered her gaze to the Fiery Flame Eagle, her lips slightly curled.
Liu Jinglan, expressionless, said: “You know, high schoolers are just this naïve.”
Chang Yuhuan muffled a laugh, while Chen Yuan chuckled helplessly.
The four sat around the campfire, with Cola lying next to Chen Yuan, its fluffy big tail lazily swaying against his lower back, its blue-green eyes gazing at the night sky, suddenly longing for the companions on the farm.
This place isn’t fun at all!
There’s nothing tasty here!
Spark soared high in the sky, its sharp gaze continuously scanning the surrounding area, ever alert for any anomalies.
