“You’ll have to wait”, Wu Long casually said waving his hand as chains appeared from Hearts of Iron that surrounded Jian Hao in the time he was distracted, and restricted him along with glowing chains that appeared from talismans, ignoring the shouts of Steward Lee from the side.

As he spoke, the glowing seed slowly descended into the Niwan Palace of Jian Yu, sinking in between his eyebrows.

At that moment, it felt like time slowed down, and then thick roots made of warm yellow light began growing from the young man, starting from his forehead but then his whole body, and then from that foundation a glowing towering tree of light shot into the skies, rapidly going through the phases from a sapling to a mighty ancient tree with its canopy spreading in the skies.

Fruit began growing on the branches, thousands, tens of thousands, then millions, and then it became hard to count visually as the fruits were the size of a normal apple yet grew on a massive tree that covered the entire sky.

Those fighting nearby slowed down, and eventually stopped, all mesmerized by the sight, and also since the reason to fight was already lost.

“Out of all those, only one would descend onto him…”, Wu Long explained to Xue Bing in that same intimate whisper, but then his voice abruptly stopped, as the light smile on his lips under the mask froze, his eyes widening as they reflected a familiar figure.

Time seemed to completely stop all around, as only Wu Long, Xue Bing, Fen Baihu who appeared next to them, and that figure seemed to be able to perceive time as normal, while the world ground to a halt.

That figure was Yuanfen.

She watched the fruits on the trees with hungry, even starving eyes, as a bit of saliva appeared on the corner of her lips.

And then, grabbing onto the incorporeal thick root of the tree nearest to her – one that couldn’t be touched even by Wu Long – she exerted a bit of effort with a cute look, which made the whole tree violently shake in front of Wu Long’s widening eyes.

Continuous booms of thunder reverberated in the skies above, as images of clouds and lightning that weren’t really there, phantom-like projections of them flashed in the entire visible skies.

Yuanfen simply showed her tongue to those furious Heavens, and shook the tree again.

This time, the tree shook even more violently, and finally all of the fruit began to fall.

She raised her hand, and the fruit began to transform into wisps of light that shot toward a spot a bit above her open palm, forming first a small glowing dot and then gradually an orb of light.

Yuanfen watched the orb glow with pure joy and child-like excitement in her eyes, licking her lips in anticipation as the sound of stomach growling reached the ears of the shocked trio of Wu Long, Xue Bing, and Fen Baihu.

And as the last of the fruit made it into her ‘collection’, she almost impatiently bit into it, but then froze with an already open mouth, turning her gaze first to Jian Yu who was seemingly frozen in time, and then to Wu Long.

“Eh? What is she…”, Wu Long suddenly had a strange premonition as Yuanfen turned her eyes from the orb to him and back with a seeming hesitation.

She then finally decided with a nod, and pinched with her fingers and pulled out, subsequently throwing away a tiny spec of that light that turned back into a fruit and hovered above Jian Yu.

Next, with a look of only slight reluctance, she grabbed into the orb, pulling out a massive chunk that turned into another smaller one.

“Wait, Yuanfen. You’re…”, sensing where this was going, Wu Long tried to speak up, since he clearly saw it was something she really wanted and perhaps even needed. There weren’t many opportunities like this for her either.

The original one was still bigger, but what she took out was nearly a tenth. And he didn’t want to take away anything from her, let alone such a big chunk.

But she wasn’t listening even as he sincerely spoke trying to make her reconsider.

She only smiled as she turned to him, either not understanding what he said, or just stubbornly doing what she wanted.

Her eyes lingered on Xue Bing and Fen Baihu, but she looked so reluctant as she looked back at the orbs in her hands, that both beauties frantically gestured refusal from any gifts. But unlike with Wu Long, she seemed to readily accept their refusal with a slightly relieved expression.

She then let go of the smaller orb and sent it Wu Long’s way.

He had no realistic way of preventing it, since unlike her he wasn’t able to really interact with it, only saying as he moved his head on pure instinct as if it was going to help him evade, “No, wait, seriously! Yuanfe-…”

However, the next moment his eyes lost focus and became blank, as his head tilted back to look up in the same pose as Jian Yu, as the orb hovered above his head.

“Once the world returns to normal, you have to stop everyone around for just a bit”, Fen Baihu spoke in a low tone to Xue Bing, “I can’t do it now but once the world returns to normal I’m going to bring others as fast as I can because Wu Long will turn incredibly vulnerable for just a short time, and I won’t be able to take him away without disrupting him”

“Then you can just concentrate on shielding him and that guy from me. I will ensure no one dares to approach”, Xue Bing nodded, “I can stall them all until our Sisters arrive”

At this moment, Yuanfen was preparing to eat the orb, but out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Jian Yu with a single fruit above his head.

She bit her lip with a slightly guilty look, hesitating as she looked at that fruit and the two orbs containing uncountable numbers of them, one in her hands, one hovering above Wu Long.

With a bit of reluctance, and a sigh, she pulled another 2 fruits to add above Jian Yu’s head to make 3 in total, from her own bigger orb, and made a nod with a very serious look – that looked unbearably adorable instead – that seemed to say ‘that’s fair’.

She then opened her mouth and with excitement bit into the orb, which started to be sucked away into her mouth. And in a blink of an eye, it disappeared.

Nothing grand happened in her looks or around her as the two beauties expected, she only made a cute exhale, not even really a burp but more like a sigh after a satisfying meal, and rubbed her tummy with a delighted smile.

She then smiled toward them and was going to go away, when her eyes lingered on the glowing tree itself. A grin appeared on her lips, and she reached out, as the whole tree was sucked away into her palm that closed up and as she opened it, there was a bean-like seed, that she threw into her mouth just like a snack, replicating a motion she saw some of the beauties do when they ate almonds or similar snacks, disappearing just as abruptly as she appeared.

The next moment, as the scenery of the tree abruptly disappeared from the eyes of those around, a wave of frost spread out in all directions, and everything froze.

In the center of that nova was Xue Bing, with waving in the wind dark blue hair and glowing turquoise eyes seen in the cutouts of the ice mask.

Not just the ground became covered with ice and any plants froze. Spiritual Qi showed no signs of movement at all, whether that was within the cultivators or out in the open, any wind became stillness, and all the cultivators froze in place encased in a thin layer of ice. The whole highpoint of the canyon turned into a frozen kingdom in just a split moment that one wouldn’t even have the time to blink in.

Thick icy clouds formed around Wu Long and Jian Yu as even the outer layers of Fen Baihu’s mist protecting the two froze up.

“Whew~”, the Celestial Fox whistled with widening eyes, speaking in a slightly dumbfounded tone, “I thi~nk… I don’t even need to call the others…”

Only the two cultivators in Essence Gathering Realm in the air above, Steward Lee and the cloaked man he was intercepting, were able to move, but even they felt like their senses were incredibly numbed since Spiritual Sense froze up and was cut off, their Spiritual Qi stagnated, and parts of their Soul Sea surfaces showed signs of light frosting over.

Snow slowly began falling from the sky as the air temperature dropped.

“Unfortunately, I am not yet skilled enough to only target enemies, so I would only cause trouble when the others arrive, if I do big moves”, Xue Bing sighed with her usual tone, but a bit of mixed-in frustration and disappointment was palpable even to Fen Baihu.

“Haha… ha”, the Celestial Fox made a slightly dry laugh, thinking this ice beauty must surely be joking, “Hmm? Oh, it appears we don’t need to call them… Wu Long’s already done”

The cloud of fluffy-looking ice crumbled as Wu Long appeared from within, shaking his head at the unexpected development, “Haa~… I told her to take it all…”

But aside from that, there was a bit of confusion in his eyes, one that he quickly hid as he chose to ponder on what he obtained in his enlightenment later, dealing with the situation first, “Thank you, Bing’er, Baihu”

“Hehe, it’s all Sister Bing’er”, Fen Baihu chuckled, not taking any credit.

“That’s not true, if not for you shielding them…”, Xue Bing tried to refute, but was embraced by Wu Long before she could finish. Of course, Wu Long didn’t plan to only acknowledge her, as he beckoned Fen Baihu to come into his embrace as well.
