Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 929 929: Inching Closer

—
25 out of 99 Origin Laws…
That’s Cedric’s current progress as of the moment.
It’s absurd when you think about it. Cedric literally has 25 Origin Laws to choose from in a fight. He could even combine them in various ways if he’s feeling it. Meanwhile, Nicholas and Patricia, humanity’s strongest and the first two Primal Origin lifeforms of the five known chaos realms, only had one each.
And they had to desperately cling to it, because if they relaxed in the middle of their comprehension, they would’ve lost it.
Comparisons are unfair like that. Unlike him, Nick and Pat didn’t have access to the Origin Heaven Continent. Their talents weren’t deemed strong enough for it. Because of that, they couldn’t enter the continent and comprehend a lot of law essences like Cedric did.
Actually, even if they did, it’s not for certain that it’d make a difference…
Cedric can easily absorb and comprehend a lot of information at once. It’s incredibly hard to overload his brain with knowledge since he devours it like a whale. He also digests and organizes information at an incredible speed. He’s even capable of forming zones and isolated areas in his consciousness for ease of access and processing. These things, neither Nick nor Pat could do.
That’s why even though they could, somehow, be given access to the Origin Heaven Continent, they’d probably need a lot of time to get into a level that Cedric achieved in just a couple dozen years.
And that’s under the assumption that they’d be able to stay for that long in the continent. Facing the trials might become tricky for them, especially if nobody warns them or reveals the exploitable loophole in the trials.
This is why the comparison was unfair to begin with. Because while it’s practically certain that, with his abilities, Cedric will have a bright future in the Origin Heaven Continent, the same couldn’t be said for Nick or Pat.
And that’s probably why they weren’t invited in the first place. And if it’s like this for them, then there’s no need to mention the other Human Sovereigns.
Regarding this, Cedric didn’t think too much. Although he had the qualifications to look down on the Human Sovereigns, he couldn’t deny that, with them around, life was easy.
They’ve been in position for so long and have done their due diligence. They led humanity to its current heights; they achieved the peak of this world, allowing them to look down on everybody else. They’re on top of everything, and that has to amount to something.
Cedric won’t just barge in and replace them just because they can because even he couldn’t guarantee that he’d do a better job leading the council like they have.
Besides, things are fine as is; why fix something that’s not broken? Additionally, Cedric really doesn’t feel like adding more responsibilities on his hands.
He’s rather satisfied with the way things are, thank you very much. Being a Sector Lord was more than enough for him, for now, at least.
So, while the world moved around him and everything was peaceful, Cedric could wholeheartedly pursue his own interests.
And that is, of course, comprehending the true pinnacle of origin laws, the Primal Chaos Laws.
He made two steps forward since the last time. He’s a quarter of the way through it. And in between his comprehensions, he continues to polish the connection between all the laws he comprehended.
Each time he added one more, Cedric would make sure that the new one was integrated carefully and perfectly with the rest, creating a stable and harmonious relationship between each one, before comprehending another.
At this point, nobody could convince him otherwise that the Origin Laws aren’t inherently connected to each other anymore.
No matter how distant or exaggeratedly different two origin laws were, at the very depths of them lies an inherent connection, a link, that connects them. If Cedric hadn’t discovered it, this connection would’ve never been visible to him at all, no matter how exaggerated his insight was.
Also, each time Cedric comprehends another origin law, his life evolution realm advances and draws nearer to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm.
One has to know that Cedric had long since stopped enriching or trying to advance his life evolution realm. All he does nowadays is comprehend origin laws, polish the connection between them, and also polish his foundations.
That’s it.
He makes no effort on advancing his actual life evolution realm. He doesn’t search for resources, he doesn’t compete for them, and he doesn’t need them either.
If anything, he’s even trying to slow down his advancement. He’s doing this by repeatedly compressing his origin energy and refining both his consciousness and his inner world.
Comparing the thickness, quality, and quantity of origin energy between Cedric and Nicholas, the former wins undoubtedly. Cedric could even beat Patricia in terms of spirituality since he had also comprehended the Origin Soul Laws.
Even if you combine both Nick’s and Pat’s foundations, it could only be a close second to Cedric’s own foundations. And that small gap was, in truth, a seemingly uncrossable moat that only goes farther the further one goes.
And Cedric’s not stopping. Not for them, or for anybody.
So long as he could keep compressing his origin energy, increasing its quality and nourishing his consciousness, physical body, soul, and inner world, he wouldn’t stop.
He wanted to feel that wall, to feel that ceiling. He wanted to sense that restriction, the one that will prevent him from going any further, and he wants to smash it open, to completely and utterly destroy it to smithereens.
Cedric wants to shatter the imposed limitations, to truly see what lies beyond.
What Nick and Pat could barely do qualified as reaching the peak. They’re standing at the tallest mountain peak while Cedric wants to see what’s hidden beyond the skies.
Their ambitions are not the same.
Cedric’s idea was to delay his ascension to the Primal Origin Life Form until he comprehends the Primordial Chaos Law.
He wants to comprehend all 99 Origin Laws, combine them into one, and comprehend and master the Primordial Chaos Law before ascending to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm.
That way, he could ascend in one go and maybe even transcend to the unknown.
Whether that means replacing the Supreme Will or taking in the Origin Source Laws, Cedric doesn’t know just yet.
All he knows is that the road ahead of him still has some ways to go, and he won’t stop until he reaches the end.

“That kid is seriously way too diligent,” Angelo sighed as he paused before the doors of Cedric’s room.
It’s been a while since he last saw him, which was when he brought him here.
Since then, according to the ghost servants, the kid never stepped out of this room. He summons servants every now and then to ask some questions and goes on a trial every now and then since he no longer has to be afraid of failing. But he never steps out of the room.
Everything he had was brought to him. He rests periodically and has a respectable work and leisure balance, which is why he can keep going and never gets bored of repeating the same routine every single day.
Angelo himself couldn’t have done this. He was diligent, yes, but not this diligent. Seriously, a man could use a real break from all this stuffy and boring seclusion every now and then.
Hell, even listening to the gossips of mortals would be way more stimulating than this.
There weren’t many sources of entertainment here to begin with. And with Angelo’s position, the race also adds immense pressure, a weight that threatens to crush him.
Everything feels a little too much sometimes; that’s why he needs to decompress every now and then.
But Cedric? Cedric doesn’t work that way, it seems.
When asked about how he’s taking it, the ghost’s servants replied that Cedric was doing very well. Not once did he show any signs of mental instability.
Even though he practically locked himself into solitary confinement since his arrival here, his mood never fluctuated within.
Seriously, the kid’s willpower was insane.
As such, he also never met his other competitors. It made others curious about him, but because they never saw him, it’s easy to forget that he’s even here.
Only Angelo would ever show concern over that kid’s state. The others? They sneer and scoff, thinking that the kid had gone desperate because of the pressure and that he’d die soon.
They’re wrong, obviously, grievously mistaken, even. Because according to the ghost servants, Cedric had already comprehended 11 Origin Laws so far.
That’s 4 less than the leading man in this race, and that’s with only a couple hundred years since his arrival here!
The man they thought had gone insane from desperation was not only doing incredibly well; he was fucking thriving.
Seriously, it’s insane to think about.
Which is why, even though he felt that it was a shame, Angelo could only return to his room and forget about catching up with Cedric.
Beyond that, though, he’s happy. At the very least, he left a good impression on that kid.
Maybe he’d be spared when that inevitable moment arrives? Who knows!?
