Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3590 Final Decision

The Storm God was quite clear at this point that Alex’s courage came from more than just being with the Sky God and Bladedance. There was a degree of pettiness to him, which was why he was choosing the clearly inferior of the two options given to him.
He couldn’t help but laugh as a result.
“If that is what you want, then I will give you the opportunity,” the Storm God said as he waved his hand. “I am, of course, benevolent. So I will give you some time to decide otherwise. But if you still choose to remain bullheaded by the end of it, then I cannot help you.”
Alex held a look of disdain. The man wanted to piss on him and call it rain. Did he really think what he was going to do was good for him?
“And I shouldn’t have to mention this really, but don’t bother running away. I have eyes and ears all around the place,” the Storm God said. “The moment you leave this world, I will find you.”
Alex considered the man’s words seriously. He was a Half-God, so he did deserve that much after all.
The Storm God continued to talk all by himself, this time letting out a short chortle. “You can’t even run away even if you wanted to. Now that you are a Half-God, no matter where you go, people will realize who you are. Finding you will be incredibly easy.”
Even the two Celestials sitting on either side of Alex couldn’t argue against the Storm God’s logic. He was technically correct.
Alex finally spoke up.
“You’re giving me two choices,” Alex said. “Either to come with you, or to have the Fire God learn about me, is that so?”
The Storm God raised an eyebrow. “Why should you ask this? I thought you had already come to a decision.”
“I have,” Alex said. “This isn’t about me, but about you.”
The man leaned forward slightly. “How is this about me?”
“You’ve given me a choice between two options. But if I take one, can you guarantee me that you will not force me to take the other option in the future, regardless of the outcome?”
The Sky God quickly caught on to what Alex was saying and turned toward the Storm God as well.
“If the junior here were to accept a meeting with Ashmaker, you will never come looking for him again, will you?” she asked him, putting on pressure.
Quickstorm’s face went dark suddenly, the room itself becoming somewhat darker as though black clouds had filled the horizon. He stared between the three, judging just how determined they were. After an entire minute had passed, he finally broke the silence.
“If that is what you really wish for, then I will agree. I have said what I wanted to say, so the decision is yours to make. Whatever you choose, I will adhere to your choice.”
For a Half-God, respect was about as important as anything else. If it were to spread in any way that a Half-God wasn’t worthy of their respect, it could lead to cascading sets of failures that would lead to a massive group of their devoted followers no longer praying to them.
That would be a disaster he would want to avoid.
“I believe you know what he’s decided, so there’s not much to talk about, is there?” the Sky God said. “We can only wait for Ashmaker to arrive now and declare a fight against him.”
The Storm God remained silent for a few seconds, staring directly at Alex, before nodding along. “You’re right. That’s all that is left, if that is the decision he’s made.”
The Sky God frowned. “Are you still not giving up?”
“No, I’m simply giving him a chance to change his mind. After all, it’s not a decision to be easily made,” he said, turning toward Alex. “If you ever change your mind, you can let me know.”
Alex barely gave an affirmative nod. He was more or less done talking about this topic.
“I think we are done with you for now,” the Sky God told Alex. “You may leave us if you wish.”
Alex wouldn’t have minded staying and listening in on a conversation between two Half-Gods, but this was a clear message from the Sky God for him to leave. So, he stood up and bowed around the place before leaving the palace.
No one followed him, neither the Sky God’s people nor the Storm God’s people. So, he was all by himself for the short time it took for him to return to the courtyard.
During that time, Alex wondered if he had made the right decision or not, or if he had let his anger stop him from thinking through things clearly.
There was absolutely no doubt in his mind that he was not going to be imprisoned by the Storm God or anyone else ever again. That was not the thing he was concerned about.
Instead, it was the matter with the Fire God. He wanted to keep the information of him being a Half-God hidden from everyone else for as long as he could, but it appeared that the news was going to spread very soon.
And the result of that would be him losing his Half-God status soon. If that was all, then Alex wouldn’t have minded as much. But if Ashmaker wasn’t happy with just that, then his life itself might be in danger.
‘Against a Half-God, it’s unlikely I can survive even with my Undying Physique,’ Alex thought. Their powers were far too strong after all.
Once Alex arrived at the courtyard, however, and was greeted by his daughter, as well as his father and a few others that were still around. Something inside of him flipped.
‘That’s right!’ he thought. ‘I can’t just worry about the worst to come in the future. I need to actively prepare for it as well. I need to get as strong as I can in the short time it will take for the Fire God to arrive.’
