- Chapter 2970 1623: Surprise and Strangeness (Part 2)

“Who, who are you?”
A timid, clear voice sounded, and the other party clutched a flower basket full of fresh blooms tightly, their fair and delicate face full of anxiety and fear, as if they had never seen people from outside the Barrier before.
“We have no hostility, no need to worry.”
After confirming the other party posed no threat, Leo Ray smiled slightly, motioning for Moli to help the other who was sitting limp on the ground.
Since this action didn’t involve outsiders, Moli didn’t bother wearing the pink hooded cap, her pair of long, fair ears extremely eye-catching.
“Are you, are you the sister of the Forest Elves?”
The timid Light Elf girl quickly noticed Moli’s kindred features, and her nervous mood visibly eased a lot.
“Yes, you can just call me Sister Moli!”
Rarely hearing someone voluntarily call her sister, Moli was very happy, putting on a mature and calm demeanor, even though her height only reached the Light Elf’s shoulder.
Seeing this scene, Leo Ray nodded slightly, as this was precisely the reason he had Moli interact with the other first.
After all, Light Elves and Forest Elves were relatively friendly, unlike the hostility between Light Elves and Dark Elves.
“Sister Moli, who are these people…?”
The Light Elf obediently called, then instinctively hid behind Moli.
“Don’t be afraid, they are good people!”
Moli patted her chest and began introducing Leo Ray and the others.
Especially when introducing Leo Ray first, she used all kinds of compliments, such as “King of Kings of the Outer Region powers” and “Savior of the powers,” giving Leo Ray a lot of face, making him a bit embarrassed.
However, this clearly had a huge effect, as even though the Light Elf girl seemed to understand only a little, she noticeably relaxed her guard towards Leo Ray and the others, especially when looking at Leo Ray himself.
“Your Excellency, may I ask your name?”
Seeing the time was about right, Leo Ray began trying to obtain some useful information from the other party.
Here was, after all, the Barrier Area of the Gate of Truth and the Ancient Light Elves, full of potential dangers and uncertainties, so Leo Ray wasn’t going to be careless.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, my name is Anna, Anna from Qiongguang Village.”
The Light Elf named Anna nodded at Leo Ray, her tone carrying obvious respect.
“Qiongguang Village? So, is there still a village of Light Elves here?”
Leo Ray’s face showed a hint of surprise, and he questioned again.
“Yes, everyone in the village has lived here for generations, working at sunrise and resting at sunset, living a peaceful and fulfilling life!”
Anna’s fair and delicate face beamed with simplicity and innocence, nodding heavily.
Upon hearing this, everyone couldn’t help but exchange glances again.
It seems there really is an isolated village of Light Elves here! And based on the description, it’s likely that it’s stood here since the Blank Era.
But if that’s truly the case, why have these Light Elves never planned to leave? Are they hiding from disasters stirred in the outside world? Or is there another unknown reason?
“Anna, could you take us to your village and have a look?”
Leo Ray still maintained a faint smile and spoke again.
Leo Ray clearly understood that developments had far exceeded his expectations, so acquiring more information was crucial for better exploration.
“Of course, everyone will surely welcome you, as you’re the village’s first guests!”
Anna nodded without hesitation, then picked up the bamboo basket and started to lead the way.
During the journey, Leo Ray further learned.
These flowerbeds and shrubs were regularly tended by Anna and the villagers, which explained their neatness.
As for the Gate of Truth, Leo Ray did inquire indirectly, but Anna clearly knew nothing about it.
As the group moved forward, the surrounding flowerbeds and shrubs gradually transformed into orchards and fields, with glimpses of Light Elves working in the fields, presenting a scene of harmony.
Soon enough, a village of Light Elves situated at the forest edge came into view.
The village wasn’t large, appearing to house only a hundred or so elves, and under Anna’s guidance, the group passed several Elf Guards at the village entrance and smoothly entered the village.
The village was mainly composed of white stone buildings, interspersed with some wooden houses and fences, appearing unremarkable. Leo Ray even noticed no Defensive Barrier.
Every passing Light Elf in the village wore a smile, greeting Anna warmly, and even nodded friendly at Leo Ray and his group, displaying hospitality.
Yet strangely, Leo Ray noticed that the Light Elf villagers seemed to have already known about their arrival, as none showed surprise or disbelief, and even the guards did not impede them.
But upon reconsidering, since this was a village of Light Elves standing at the Peak of the Ten Thousand Clans since the Silver Moon Era, having some form of magical surveillance was normal.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, this is the Healing Center of the village, and over there is the Warehouse, storing fresh fruits and vegetables.”
Leading the way, Anna introduced everything in the village to Leo Ray and his group, until they stopped at a large building in the village center.
The large white building resembled the Light Healing House, its exterior akin to a Temple but with tightly shut doors and a Magic Restriction on its gate even the village entrance lacked.
“This is the village’s forbidden area.”
Anna’s steps noticeably halted, her smile somewhat forced, as she explained to Leo Ray and his group: “Sorry, there’s not much else I can say.”
“No problem, we did just arrive abruptly.”
Upon first arriving, Leo Ray and his group naturally did not linger, continuing to tour the village with Anna.
Finally, the group stopped before a large residence.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, this is the home of the village chief. Everyone should have prepared the welcoming banquet by now.”
At the mention, an expectation surfaced on Anna’s fair face, as she opened the village chief’s door.
Sure enough, as the door opened, a bright hall appeared before the group.
In the center of the hall, the table was already filled with steaming bread and vegetable soups, along with a variety of fresh fruits.
Around the table, several Light Elves stood, both men and women, young and old, all dressed in white robes with flower crowns, each with a shining smile.
“Welcome esteemed guests, this old man is the village chief of Qiongguang Village.”
An elf elder, with a rosy complexion, approached Leo Ray, smiling: “This must be Your Majesty of the Humans? Having your presence brings great honor to our village.”
“Your Excellency the Village Chief is too kind, we’re the ones arriving abruptly and disturbing everyone.”
Leo Ray returned a courteous smile and nodded.
“Ha ha, Your Majesty of the Humans, what are you saying? You are the first guests in the village’s history, we’re delighted to welcome you and couldn’t consider it a disturbance.”
The village chief ushered Leo Ray and his group inside, and the other Light Elves also nodded in agreement, forming a welcoming line.
“In that case, we gladly accept the invitation.”
Leo Ray exchanged glances with his fellow strong companions, smilingly entering the house.
Yet, despite the harmonious scene of host and guest enjoying themselves, a sense of puzzlement and suspicion rose in the hearts of Leo Ray and his group.
