- Chapter 3001 1640: The Bustling Marketplace (Part 2)

“Turns out you’re merely a Forest Language Singer of the Ancient Tree Courtyard; I initially thought I’d encountered some notable figure.”
Silver Maple Forest Guardian, evidently aware of the Moli family situation, mocked coldly, “What are you putting on airs for, a diminutive existence unwelcomed even within your own tribe?”
“Indeed, just a negligible individual, even the Forest Language Singers have declined. The mere top singer is only at a half-step Tier 7, yet here being so oblivious.”
Mirror Lake Singer looked down at Moli with a detached air, “If it were me, I’d cover my face tightly so not to lose face in public!”
At this point, Mirror Lake Singer seemed to recall something, lazily adding, “Oh, I forgot, your family has no face to lose for quite some time now.”
“You are merely a defeated rival from the past!”
Moli clenched her fist, a hint of anger surging in her starry eyes.
Back at the Elf Throne Arena, young and talented Moli fought valiantly for the last dignity of the Forest Language Singers, defeating young priests from the other four Elf Kingdoms, including the one before her, Mirror Lake Singer.
At that time, both were at the half-step Tier 7 level.
Yet, centuries have passed; Moli still remains at the same point, while her opponent has already crossed the threshold to the demigod realm.
This isn’t due to higher talent from the other, but because the Ancient Tree Courtyard hasn’t invested any cultivation resources into Moli, whereas her opponent is still a favored child within her tribe, making this outcome unsurprising.
“The present is unlike the past, just like the Forest Language Singers back then, right?”
Mirror Lake Singer gazed contemptuously at Moli, sneering, “Or perhaps, you wish to continue the competition from back then? I might as well teach you a lesson from the Ancient Tree Courtyard!”
“My people from Ancient Tree Courtyard need not be lectured by other Forest Elves!”
A crisp voice with a hint of authority rang out, as a third group of Forest Elves stepped forward from the crowd.
The leader was a graceful, slender female elf powerhouse, distinguished by a combination of leather armor and vigorous attire, clearly an Elf Archer demigod.
“Helena sister!”
Upon seeing the newcomer, Moli’s starry eyes brightened, quickly approaching with joy written all over her face, “I didn’t expect you to represent the tribe at this market gathering!”
“Moli, it’s truly been a long time.”
The Forest Elf named Helena gently patted Moli’s head, equally joyous.
Then, she appeared worried, checking Moli for any injuries while asking, “Where have you been these last hundred years?”
“It’s a long story, but thankfully I’m safe and sound.”
Moli chuckled, lightly raising her brows, “Don’t worry, I’m not easily endangered.”
“It’s good to hear, it’s good indeed.”
Helena nodded firmly, a tinge of guilt on her fair face, “Sorry, I’ve been asking the Elders Council periodically to send someone to find you these many years, but never received a response, while I can’t easily leave the tribe…”
“It’s alright, sister has heavy responsibilities within the tribe.”
Moli waved her hand slightly, then looked at Leo Ray, “I’m doing quite well now, enjoying gourmet meals daily!”
“So, has Your Majesty of the Humans been taking care of you during this time?”
Helena was evidently aware of Leo Ray, nodding slightly to him in gratitude.
Leo Ray responded with a nod and a faint smile.
About Helena, the elf powerhouse, he had heard Moli mention countless times in the past.
In the Ancient Tree Courtyard, amid the complete demise of the Moli family, she was one of the few high-ranked elf nobles who still associated with Moli, having grown up together as close friends and a neighborhood sister.
“Moli, you’ve been away from home for so long, it’s time to visit.”
Helena composed herself, nodding at Moli, “It’s a good opportunity at this Shadow Market, why not go home with me later?”
“No, I don’t want to go back.”
Moli decisively declined the suggestion, knitting her brows, “My residence was taken away; where else could be called home?”
Finishing her words, Moli glanced at the Silver Maple Forest Guardian and Mirror Lake Singer, “Otherwise, I wouldn’t be looked down on by these guys.”
Upon hearing her mention them, both slightly shrugged, having no intentions of further troubling her.
Helena ranked top three in the previous Elf Throne Arena among young elf powerhouses, having a good family background. Her influence is considerable both within the Ancient Tree Courtyard and amongst the young Forest Elves, hence they wouldn’t openly oppose her.
“Ignore them, let’s have a sisterly chat.”
Helena held Moli’s hand, nodding at Leo Ray to signify borrowing Moli for a moment. Leo Ray, with a continuing smile, watched them depart.
Meanwhile, the other two groups of Forest Elves, finding no amusement, soon turned and left as well.
“Alright, let’s continue wandering.”
Leo Ray looked thoughtfully at the retreating figure of the Silver Maple Forest Guardian, then nodded at the surrounding powerhouses.
When the time is right, he will fulfill his promise and seek justice for Jasper Richardson and the Half-Elves of the Moonwhite Tribe.
Just as Leo Ray calmed his mind, a leisurely unfamiliar voice rang out behind him.
“The Emperor of the Human Race indeed has some skill, almost inciting conflict among the three Forest Elf Kingdoms, pity it came close to being a spectacle.”
Upon hearing this sudden voice, Leo Ray turned, discovering another group of Elf Tribe powerhouses before him.
However, regardless of gender, these elf powerhouses had a few sparkling gold powders on their faces, their attire adorned with white and gold accessories, clearly identifying them as powerhouses of the Light Elves.
“What do you mean by this, Your Excellency?”
Leo Ray slightly furrowed his brows, detecting a faint confrontational tone from the other’s speech.
He knew he had no connections with the Light Elves, with his only interactions concerning Ruth and others of the Light Half-Elves.
“Nothing much, just a reminder to be more discreet; it’s beneficial for you.”
The leading Light Elf male remained expressionless, yet wore a dazzling smile.
Earlier, he had noticed that among those independent powerhouses joining Leo Ray’s ranks, there were quite a few Light Elf powerhouses.
Although these insignificant independent powerhouses meant little to him, the thought of them showing deference to a mere human made him somewhat uneasy.
Upon hearing his voice, the independent powerhouses, initially surprised, quickly reacted.
Especially among them, the Light Elf powerhouses lowered their heads, fearing the other might point fingers at them, recognizing his status to be untouchably high within the Light Elf ranks.
“So that’s how it is?”
Leo Ray immediately grasped the implication behind his words, responding blandly, “Thank you for the reminder, but this is my affair, and Your Excellency need not worry.”
“Oh? Are you suggesting the Emperor of the Human Race wishes to continue acting so openly?”
The Light Elf man’s gaze darkened, still speaking in a detached tone, “You’re aware, we stand as a first-class force atop the Ten Thousand Clans; never has any power ignored our friendly reminders.”
Watching the expressionless face of the Light Elf male, the independent powerhouses all instinctively swallowed.
He wasn’t offering a friendly reminder at all; he was clearly issuing a warning to Your Majesty of the Humans!
