Chapter 286: Chapter 286: Yasser’s Changes, Miss Lumina
[Auction Item: Skeleton Tree Root
Tier: Legendary Rank, Special Item
Description: Crafted from the unique root of the only Skeleton Tree in the Abyss. Infuse it with mana to activate the item. A small fragment of your Spirit will split off and enter the Skeletal Spirit Realm constructed by the tree…]
They say when you want something, it appears.
Aiden couldn’t help but feel excited. The Skeleton Tree root was actually on the auction list, but it was the finale item, appearing only at the very end.
With this, he could buy the intel he needed in the Spirit space without exposing any information.
Plus, he had a feeling this kind of special item would be useful in the future.
“Can I use the Skeleton Tree root to enter the Skeletal Spirit Realm as long as I’m in the Abyss?” Aiden asked, unable to hold back the question.
Hazel shook her head. “I’m not entirely sure. I just heard about this item.”
Aiden calmed down a bit. If that were true, it would save him a lot of time and effort later. He could contact Abyss friends like the Miko sisters and Brock directly within the Skeletal Spirit Realm.
Of course, that assumed the people he knew also had a Skeleton Tree root.
Just then, there was another knock at the door of the private box.
“Mr. Aelris, sorry to disturb you. It’s Yasser,” a voice called softly from outside. “I brought the [Chain of Pain Transfer] you just won.”Yasser, the Ratfolk manager, stood at the door.
Hazel quickly glanced around the private room. Just now, she and Aiden had been so lost in their fight that the place was a mess. The table was covered in glistening fluids that hadn’t dried yet.
Hazel took a deep breath and decided not to clean up the mess. Instead, she looked at Aiden and whispered,
“We need to act a lot more intimate.”
Aiden nodded and wrapped his arms around Hazel’s waist before opening the door to the private box.
Outside, the Ratfolk manager, Yasser, glanced at Aiden and Hazel. His eyes quickly scanned the room, and a satisfied smile spread across his face.
“It seems Hazel is lucky. She met a Slaughter Demon who actually likes human women,” Yasser thought.
“This Aelris is generous. He must have a lot of High-tier materials left. I need to make sure Hazel takes good care of him.”
He bowed low, holding the [Chain of Pain Transfer] up at Aiden’s waist level, and spoke in a low voice.
“Mr. Aelris, this is the item you just won. According to the guild’s rules, you should…”
Yasser paused at exactly the right moment, his eyes darting around as he looked extremely sharp and cunning.
Aiden looked at the [Chain of Pain Transfer], casually picked it up, and tossed it into his storage space.
Then, he pulled out a pile of Legendary Rank materials and dropped them on the floor.
Yasser showed no sign of displeasure; his eyes only saw the Legendary Rank materials.
“Alright, if there’s nothing else, don’t disturb me again. I’m not finished having fun yet,” Aiden said.
“By the way, your guild’s staff is great. I’m very satisfied!”
Here is a tip for you,” Aiden added, tossing an Epic Rank material out the door.
Yasser’s bow became even deeper.
“Thank you, Mr. Aelris. It’s an honor for our guild to make you happy,” Yasser replied with a bright smile. “By the way, would you like to try other staff members? We have succubi, vixens, and more.”
Aiden tightened his hold on Hazel’s waist and replied coolly, “No need. I still prefer human women.”
“By the way, keep this woman named Hazel for me. I’m going to bid on quite a few more items later.”
“If I come back and she’s not here, I’ll just go to other guilds instead.”
Hearing this, Yasser immediately panicked.
To him, Aelris the Slaughter Demon seemed low-key but incredibly rich. He couldn’t possibly let such a customer slip away to a rival.
Without a second thought, Yasser immediately replied, “That’s a given! Don’t worry, I’ll take excellent care of her!”
Aiden nodded in satisfaction. Yasser was already acting like this after just one purchase.
Once the auction ended and Aiden bought the Second Class Scroll and the Skeleton Box No.3 Yasser’s attitude would improve even more.
As a result, Hazel’s treatment at Suncrest Mercantile wouldn’t be the same as before.
Although Aiden wasn’t entirely eager to have Hazel stay there, it was a small price to pay.
As soon as Yasser left, Hazel closed the door.
Aiden instinctively tried to pull his hand away, but Hazel immediately slipped into his embrace. She whispered, “Thank you.”
Aiden gently reached out and patted her head.
Soon, as the auction continued, Aiden finally spotted the Second Class Scroll he wanted.
What surprised him slightly was that it hadn’t attracted much interest from the Abyss creatures. The highest bid was only ten batches of Legendary Rank materials.
“They probably think training a second profession takes too much time, effort, and resources,” Aiden thought to himself.
He snapped up the Second Class Scroll for just eleven batches of Legendary Rank materials.
After waiting just a moment, Yasser appeared again, beaming with a bright smile.
“Mr. Aelris, you are so generous!”
Aiden smirked slightly and replied coolly, “Is that considered generous? You’ll be running back and forth a few more times.”
Yasser’s eyes lit up. He immediately patted his chest and said, “I would happily die just to serve you!”
Just as Aiden thought everything would go smoothly, he ran into a rival while bidding on a potion that increased casting speed.
“Box No.13 bids twenty Legendary Rank materials!”
“Box No.13 bids twenty-two Legendary Rank materials!”
“Box No.13…”
The price of the Legendary Rank potion quickly skyrocketed to thirty batches of Legendary Rank materials.
Everyone in the hall, from the Abyss creatures to the Ratfolk auctioneer, froze in shock.
“So that’s the strength of Box No.13. Did anyone count exactly how much Legendary Rank material they spent?”
“Never mind that. I’m much more curious: who is in Box No.13? Someone who can compete with Box No.13?”
“Don’t you know? That’s Miss Lumina! Her father is one of the Five Great Administrators of Heartspire!”
“What? It’s Miss Lumina! She’s here for this auction too?”
“Of course! Miss Lumina is my dream goddess. Wherever she goes, I show up!”
“With your strength and your looks, even if you wait until the sea runs dry, Miss Lumina wouldn’t even give you a second glance.”
“Shut up! I’m just a silent supporter of Miss Lumina. I don’t have the kind of thoughts you’re describing!”
“I haven’t even thought about any thoughts yet.”
Aiden frowned slightly. He didn’t really care who Lumina was, but he didn’t want this guy competing with him for the Skeleton Tree root later.
“Never mind. I have so much material right now that I can’t possibly spend it all. I don’t need to worry.”
“Just keep a low profile and don’t show off too many Mythic Rank materials. That should be fine,” Aiden thought to himself.
Soon, it was time to auction the Skeleton Tree root.
“As you all know what this is, I won’t explain much further. The starting price is 100 batches of Legendary Rank materials!” the Ratfolk auctioneer shouted.
The atmosphere instantly heated up.
Even some of the Abyss creatures in the hall couldn’t help but bid.
In less than half a minute, the price of the Skeleton Tree root had already soared to 160 batches of Legendary Rank materials.
“Box No.13 bids 200 batches of Legendary Rank materials!”
“Two hundred! Did you hear that right? Two hundred batches!” The Ratfolk auctioneer was so excited he nearly jumped out of his seat.
Aiden sighed. As he had expected, this was going to be tough.
He turned to Hazel and asked, “Who exactly is Lumina?”
Fear flickered in Hazel’s eyes as she replied, “Heartspire doesn’t have a city lord. Instead, it’s managed jointly by five Abyss hybrid families.”
“In each Legendary family, a powerful entity who has lived for thousands of years lies dormant.”
“They only wake up if the family faces a crisis.”
“Lumina’s father is one of the five managers of the Abyss in Heartspire. He possesses the strength of a High Demon God. As for Lumina, she has reached level 99 and is currently preparing for her thunder tribulation.”
Aiden’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he hesitated.
Coming to Heartspire alone, if he encountered an Abyss Demon God, his disguise would be blown.
That would be dangerous.
Although Aiden knew that the Demon Gods of Heartspire probably wouldn’t care much about a human level 50 like himself.
But he wanted to be extra cautious now, especially after being pursued by Belith.
“Forget it? But then I’d have to go to Suncrest Mercantile to buy the intel directly.”
“If the news that ’Slaughter Demon Aelris killed Demon genius Raphael’ gets leaked by Suncrest Mercantile…”
“Then I could never use the Slaughter Demon identity to sneak into the Demon ranks again.”
Aiden took a deep breath, unsure of how to stay safe in this situation.
Just then, the Ratfolk auctioneer suddenly spoke up: “Miss Lumina asked me to pass a message to Box No.13.”
