Chapter 315: Chapter 315: Bella’s Request. The Farce Must End
Alexius stood in the center of everyone’s gaze, his fists clenched tight.
Aiden’s earlier words had instantly set off a wave of anger in his heart.
Alexius took a deep breath, forcing his expression to calm down. Slowly, he replied,
“Aiden, don’t think you can just provoke me like that.”
“You’re right, actually. I do think that. Apart from Selene, who has already become a divine powerhouse, no one else has more potential than me!”
“You want a fragment of the Mysterious Treasure Map? Fine. I accept your bet.”
Aiden’s expression shifted slightly to surprise. He had said those things on purpose just to provoke Alexius.
But he hadn’t expected Alexius to admit it so openly and agree to his terms right away.
This was actually much easier. He didn’t want to waste more words or spend too much time on Alexius.
As long as he got the two Mysterious Treasure Map fragments Alexius possessed, he would have collected all of them. Then he could finally go find the treasure of the Supreme Miko.
Aiden wasn’t sure exactly what the Supreme Miko’s treasure contained, but he knew it would definitely grant a massive boost to his strength.
“Wait,” Aiden thought, his eyes lighting up slightly. “Alexius is also collecting the fragments urgently. That means he must know what’s inside the Supreme Miko’s treasure that he actually needs!”
Just then, a mocking smile appeared on Alexius’s face as he continued:
“I agree. But if you can prove your innocence, I’ll give you one fragment of the Mysterious Treasure Map.”
“One? Just one?”
Aiden’s brows knitted together instantly.
Even if he got four fragments of the Mysterious Treasure Map, it wouldn’t make much of a difference compared to having just one.
“Never mind,” Aiden said, shaking his head. “My time is too valuable. I’m not wasting it on something so meaningless.”
He never really cared about the chatter of others.
Aiden had encountered this kind of thing too many times. It had forged a heart that simply ignored rumors and slurs.
To be honest, there were just too many truly normal people in the world, and too many brainless idiots. That was why wherever Aiden went, idiots would appear to cause him trouble.
Of course, Aiden knew this was because he drew so much attention.
If he were just an ordinary nobody, nobody would care, and he wouldn’t run into people like Alexius, Owen, or Logan at all.
“Let’s go, we should get some rest,” Aiden said calmly to Victor and the others behind him.
Seeing this, Alexius suddenly panicked.
“Damn it, I can’t let Aiden leave like this! He must have used a child to boost his soul strength. If I don’t figure this out, more kids will die in the future!” Alexius thought frantically.
He took a deep breath and quickly called out, “Two fragments of the Mysterious Treasure Map!”
“If you can prove your innocence, I’ll give you both fragments. However, I can only hand them over in a week. I only have one on me right now; the other one is temporarily held by someone else for safekeeping.”
Hearing this, Aiden stopped dead in his tracks and slowly turned to look at Alexius.
Only one?
Aiden’s pupils trembled slightly.
His mind raced, flashing back to the collector who had died in the wilderness outside the Abyss Heartspire.
“Could it be that Alexius is using that other fragment as bait?” Aiden suddenly realized.
Waiting seven more days wasn’t a big deal.
It was perfect timing anyway. He could return to Red Dwarves’ territory, head straight for the Supreme Miko’s treasure, and if he moved fast enough, he’d be back before the Floating City in the Divine Fall Land opened its gates.
“Maybe after finding the Supreme Miko’s treasure, my power will skyrocket. Then I’ll have a real shot at entering the Floating City!” Aiden thought.
He nodded without hesitation.
“Hmph, let’s see how you prove it. If you can’t, you’d better stay put under guard and don’t even think about running…” Alexius started, but suddenly paused. He saw Aiden lift his head and reach up toward Bella, who was floating in the sky.
Bella paused, looking around left and right. Finally, she realized Aiden needed to speak with her privately.
She raised her hand slightly and waved.
Immediately, a soft beam of light materialized beneath Aiden’s feet.
In the next moment, Aiden’s figure teleported instantly into the sky.
“Uh, my evidence is… special. I can’t let too many people know about it,” Aiden said helplessly.
The only thing that could prove his innocence was the Grudge Heart he had obtained in the Great Shaw Empire.
Arthur had once warned him not to let others know about it.
If people found out, any high-level Reclasser who had truly harmed innocent children would see anyone holding a Grudge Heart as a huge threat. They would destroy it at all costs.
Bella looked at Aiden curiously, her eyes flickering with interest.
Instantly, soft beams of light swirled around her and Aiden, forming a protective barrier.
“Alright, no one can hear what you say or see what you do. Not even Kenneth or Ignis,” Bella said slowly.
Her voice was soft, yet it dripped with absolute confidence—even with the Flame God, Ignis, hovering just nearby.
Aiden nodded quickly without hesitation and pulled out the Grudge Heart.
“This should prove I haven’t harmed innocent children, right?”
Bella’s pupils shrank instantly. Her gaze locked tightly onto the Grudge Heart.
In the next second, the Grudge Heart floated out of Aiden’s hand and hovered in front of Bella.
After a long moment, Bella finally looked up. Her expression was complicated as she spoke to Aiden.
“You surprised me again.”
“That’s right. The Grudge Heart proves your innocence. But beyond that, it can bring unexpected benefits.”
Aiden wasn’t immediately sure what she meant.”I know,” he said directly. “This item triggers a unique hidden quest: The Avenger’s Punishment.”
Bella nodded slowly. “That’s right. I know some details about that quest. If you complete it, you’ll receive a material called Myriad Spirit Flower. I don’t think you’ll need it.”
“The Golden Great Wall needs this item. Just give me the Myriad Spirit Flower, and I’ll help you survive the divine ascension tribulation safely.”
Myriad Spirit Flower?
Survive the divine ascension tribulation?
Aiden looked slightly confused. He didn’t know much about the divine ascension tribulation.
Bella explained briefly. Generally, for a Reclasser with average talent, once they hit level 90, their focus should shift to boosting their soul strength and understanding the Force of Laws.
Whether it’s the Domain mastered by a Venerable or one mastered by a Great Venerable, their power depends heavily on soul strength and how deeply they understand the Force of Laws.
When a Reclasser reaches level 99 and becomes a Great Venerable, if their understanding of the Force of Laws reaches one hundred percent, they can begin trying to master it.
That is when the divine ascension tribulation will appear. If they can survive it safely, they will undergo a complete transformation.
“Blood like gold, bones like white jade… even the soul transforms into a Divine Spirit.”
“Unless killed by another divine powerhouse, a normal divine powerhouse—even the lowest lesser god—can live for over a thousand years,” Bella said calmly.
Aiden took a sharp breath. A thousand years of life?
Just survive the divine ascension tribulation, become a divine powerhouse, and you get a millennium of life?
But he quickly calmed down and asked, “The divine ascension tribulation… must be incredibly dangerous, right?”
Bella nodded. “Without special treasures or help from a powerful divine powerhouse, only one out of ten Great Venerables can survive the divine ascension tribulation safely.”
“If you fail, the best-case scenario is a damaged soul and a drop in level.”
“The worst case? Your soul scatters into nothingness. You vanish completely,” Bella sighed heavily.
Without the divine ascension tribulation, the number of human divine powerhouses would be much higher!
“Of course, even with my help, your success rate won’t be 100%.”
“But I can ensure you don’t die during the divine ascension tribulation,” Bella said calmly.
Aiden wasn’t stupid. Setting that aside, as far as he knew, Bella was currently the strongest human on earth.
Without a second thought, he nodded and agreed.
“Even if the Myriad Spirit Flower is Mythic Rank material, it’s not worth more than Bella’s help. I don’t need any Mythic Rank materials anyway!” Aiden thought to himself.
Bella nodded in satisfaction.
The Golden Great Wall had stood for a thousand years and had already developed several issues.
With the Myriad Spirit Flower, she could solve the problems affecting the wall, and…
“And figure out why the Golden Great Wall was forcibly awakened because of you,” Bella added, staring directly at Aiden. A sharp, white light flashed in her eyes.
Soon, the barrier surrounding Bella and Aiden automatically dissolved.
Everyone present instinctively lifted their heads to look up at them in the sky.
Alexius didn’t blink once. When he saw the faintly happy expression on Aiden’s face, a terrible feeling immediately gripped his heart.
Sure enough, under everyone’s gaze, Bella glanced at him coldly.
“The farce is over. Aiden is completely innocent. Alexius, it’s time you kept your promise.”
