Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Kenneth’s Request. The Consequences?
Just a moment ago, Alexius was so confident, so arrogant. Now, he looked as if he’d just witnessed something unbelievable. Panic flickered across his face.
On the Golden Great Wall, right above Bella’s name, brilliant golden light was gathering quickly.
Alexius had already passed the Golden Great Wall’s trial, so this scene was all too familiar to him.
It meant someone had not only completed the trial but had also jumped straight ahead of Bella in the rankings.
“Aiden? Impossible. There must be some mistake! How could Aiden possibly rank above Lord Bella?”
Alexius stumbled back a few steps, shook his head hard, and kept muttering.
Nellie, watching the whole thing, broke into an open smile. In a perfectly measured tone, she said:
“I wonder who was so sure earlier that the Golden Great Wall’s trial would have no problems.”
“I told you so. How could the captain fail the trial?”
Unlike Alexius, who couldn’t believe what he was seeing, Maximus just stared with wide eyes. His hands trembled slightly as he leaned forward, licked his dry lips, and gasped:
“A monster, absolutely a monster!”
“Ranking above Alexius wasn’t enough—he even surpassed Lord Bella!”
“I have to tell Lord Kenneth about this right away!”
As the one in charge of the trial, Maximus didn’t do anything else. He simply turned and flew off.
Now only Alexius stood there in shock. Victor and Nellie looked relaxed. And Aiden remained calm throughout.
The other contestants, meanwhile, had already erupted into heated discussion the moment Aiden’s name appeared.
“I get it now. Others can only last ten seconds before failing the trial. But Aiden finished it in just ten seconds!”
“Damn, is this even humanly possible?”
“Can I just say I always suspected Aiden wasn’t human? Maybe he’s a monster that looks exactly like a person?”
“Same here. I’m nodding along.”
“Stop fooling yourselves, okay? You only feel this way because the gap between you and Aiden is so huge it makes you feel hopeless.”
“Don’t you feel hopeless?”
“Uh… yeah, I do.”
“It’s like the difference between a regular person and the world’s richest billionaire. Even if that regular person won the lottery jackpot every single month, it would still take over a hundred years to catch up.”
“Wait, winning the jackpot every month? That doesn’t sound like a regular person to me.”
“Okay, what if they won once a year?”
“Then it would take over 1,300 years…”
The other talented contestants slowly stopped talking and shut their mouths.
They fell into silence, clearly not wanting to say another word.
The more they talked, the more hopeless it felt.
By now, some of them even started to understand why Alexius was reacting so dramatically.
Alexius was a student of The Flame God Ignis. As a teenager, he already had strength that crushed Great Venerables, and he was on track to become a divine powerhouse soon.
But Aiden? To Alexius, Aiden was just someone who suddenly popped out of nowhere.
Things that Alexius couldn’t do, Aiden accomplished with zero effort.
If Aiden were a student of a divine powerhouse, Alexius might have been able to accept it.
But the truth was, Aiden wasn’t a student of a divine powerhouse, nor was he a genius from a hidden family.
At this moment, Aiden glanced at his name on the Golden Great Wall, then looked back at Alexius, who was standing there motionless, like a broken puppet.
His lips twitched slightly. Who would have thought? he thought to himself. I just had a chat with Zoey, and everything turned out like this.
At that moment, Alexius clenched his fists tight and took a deep breath. His eyes were filled with struggle and reluctance.
He pressed his lips together and finally asked, “How did you do it?”
Aiden shrugged helplessly and replied casually, “Do you believe me if I say I just talked to someone?”
Alexius’s body went rigid, his muscles tense. Biting his teeth, he answered, “Are you mocking me?”
“If the trial didn’t have any issues, then fine. I admit you have more talent and potential than me.”
“I’ll tell you everything I know about the top Miko treasure.”
“If you can, please tell me how you passed the trial so quickly.”
Aiden let out a soft sigh.
He was telling the truth. But even if he said it, no one else would believe it.
He had really just chatted with Zoey and somehow passed the trial without any trouble.
“You already promised before,” Victor shouted loudly, “so you should be giving that information to the captain now.”
He wasn’t going to miss such a great opportunity. Pointing out that a powerhouse who could crush Great Venerables was a fool—that was something few people would dare to do in public.
“See? I told you,” Nellie chimed in. “You really are going to be the idiot you keep talking about.”
Alexius took a heavy breath, trying to suppress his emotions.
He regretted coming here to watch the talented contestants undergo the Golden Great Wall trial.
If he had stayed in his room instead, would he be facing this unbearable situation right now?
“Lord Kenneth is here!” Just then, Maximus appeared from a distance.
In the next second, Kenneth’s figure flashed right in front of Aiden.
He gave Aiden a deep look first, then turned his gaze to carefully examine the names on the Golden Great Wall.
After a long moment, Kenneth finally looked away. He took a deep breath and sighed,
“I never thought anyone would actually surpass Bella.”
Known as the Martial God by other Reclassers, Kenneth subtly adjusted his facial muscles, making his next smile look much gentler and friendlier.
“Aiden, would you like to become my student?”
The moment those words came out, the atmosphere in the room instantly went silent.
All the talented contestants there widened their eyes. Some even instinctively reached up to pick their ears, wondering if they had heard wrong.
But when they thought about it, given Aiden’s performance, it was entirely possible for a powerful divine powerhouse to invite him like this.
“My god,” one whispered. “Aiden’s talent and potential were already impossible for us to catch up to. Now, if he becomes a student of a divine powerhouse, his growth speed will only get faster.”
“Right,” another agreed. “I’m sure this is exactly the kind of scene many talented people dream about.”
“How do you know? My biggest wish is to become a student of a divine powerhouse.”
“Sigh, honestly, just imagining myself in Aiden’s shoes satisfies all my fantasies right now.”
“I’m so envious! If Lord Kenneth said those words to me, I’d willingly give up ten years of my life.”
Amidst the chatter, Kenneth’s smile grew even warmer and more friendly.
However, when he noticed Aiden remained silent and didn’t answer, his smile stiffened slightly.
“Are you worried that since your class is Magic Apprentice, I, as a Martial God, can’t teach you properly?”
“Don’t worry about that. I can find the right items to help you change your class.”
Suddenly, the other talented contestants around them started feeling envious again.
But Aiden remained calm. Under Kenneth’s expectant gaze, he slowly shook his head.
“I’m sorry,” Aiden said slowly, declining Kenneth’s invitation. “I feel the Magic Apprentice class fits me perfectly.”
The moment those words left his mouth, Kenneth froze.
Had he misunderstood?
Wasn’t Magic Apprentice the weakest, most useless class?
If Aiden could switch to a Warrior-type Reclasser and combine that with Kenneth’s training, he would eventually reach, or even surpass, Kenneth’s own power.
“Aiden, listen,” Kenneth said without hesitation, making a second offer. “If you become my student, I will provide you with every piece of gear, item, and Skill Book you need.”
He simply couldn’t afford to lose Aiden.
Faced with this second invitation, Aiden felt helpless.
If he changed classes, he would lose the ability to upgrade his special skill, Apprentice’s Heart.
To him, this skill was absolutely crucial.
Plus, the gear and skills he already had were so unique that even Kenneth couldn’t find suitable replacements.
He had already spent so many Legendary and even Mythic Rank skill enhancement stones. If he accepted Kenneth’s offer, wouldn’t that be a massive waste?
So, Aiden was about to refuse again.
But just then, the temperature around them began to skyrocket.
A burst of brilliant fire suddenly flashed across the sky.
Boom!
The flames exploded, and The Flame God Ignis appeared, wearing a colorful patterned shirt.
His gaze swept quickly over Alexius and Kenneth, finally landing on Aiden.
“If I were you, I’d choose to become Kenneth’s student,” Ignis said calmly.
Aiden looked up quickly, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes.
“I’m doing this for your own good,” Ignis added, noticing Aiden’s doubt.
“The Killing Laws and Dark Force of Laws you’ve perceived carry certain risks.”
“Without a powerful master to guide you, these could lead to unpredictable and disastrous consequences,” Ignis said, his expression turning serious.
Risks?
Aiden furrowed his brow.
Giving up Apprentice’s Heart and his carefully leveled-up skills was out of the question.
“What kind of consequences? Please explain more clearly,” Aiden asked.
